Best

I love sauces, and these sauces are all great! You wont expect traditional BBQ and Katchup, but more interesting flavors like arichoke lemon, whiskey katchup, parmasean foam, mole...

Worst

We ate here to avoid the long lines at the convention center food court. The hostess staff was nice and we were seated quickly, being told that we had just missed the 1 hour wait....

Disgraceful 3/12/2008

i am well versed in all things Sauciety and let me tell you, this place is a sinking ship. I cannot go into detail why i have such intimate knowledge of this restaurant but take my word for it...Its terrible. First off, this is a union hotel, where the servers have absolutely zero interest in knowing or caring about the food. they can't tell the difference between Swordfish and salmon, and can care less if you get what you asked for. They are, for the lack of a better word, idiots. Don't even ask them anout wine, they barely know what is red and what is white. the more

In a pinch, it'll do. 3/5/2008

We ate here to avoid the long lines at the convention center food court. The hostess staff was nice and we were seated quickly, being told that we had just missed the 1 hour wait. After that the experience went downhill. We sat for almost 20 minutes before being seen by our server. The food was pricey, which wouldn't be a problem if it was exceptional which it wasn't. We shared the Clam Chowder -which was great if you're in the market for Bacon Chowder. More pork than seafood, but still pretty tasty. My wife had the Seafood Cobb Salad, which came prepared differently than advertised with so-so seafood. It was a lot of salad for sure. I had the Beer Battered Cod with Fries which was ho-hum. The fries were pretty good. None of the sauces I requested made it to our table, so I stuck with the catsup. The entire time we were eating the waitress for the table next to us kept obnoxiously bumping into the back of my chair - constantly. I'm sure there must be a better value for your buck in Boston. Pros: Location Cons: Price, Service, Food more

fun new spot 2/8/2007

I love sauces, and these sauces are all great! You wont expect traditional BBQ and Katchup, but more interesting flavors like arichoke lemon, whiskey katchup, parmasean foam, mole, chimichuri, etc.The fries are awesome with all these sauces, I find myself craving them! Since I work in the area, I have been to Sauciety a few times. My first time was right when they opened and the service was friendly but a bit slow. Since then, I can see that the restaurant managers have worked hard with their employes and have greatly improved the dining experience at this new restaurant. Pros: sauces, decor more

FREE Bread! 11/2/2006

Do you want all the bread you can possibly eat? How about having a whole restaurant to yourself? Then eat at Sauciety! At Sauciety, you'll be able to: Pros: Comped meal. Cons: Hour and a half of your life you'll never get back. more

HORRIBLE service 10/29/2006

It's a great concept but it just doesn't work. There was no one in the restaurant but my bf and i were told they were all reserved. so we sat at the communal table. bad idea. waiter was horrific, dishes came at all different times and we got our appetizer bread halfway through our dinner. I will never go back here. it was way overpriced, example? A crabcake the size of a silver dollar for $10. Huge huge let down. beware of fun, new concept, they have no idea what they are doing! Pros: not much Cons: service, pricey more

Sauciety Dishes Up Society 10/25/2006

And what a dish it was! Upon entering the birch tree filled lobby of the new Westin, I wasn't sure what to expect. We found our way over to the restaurant, were greeted by a friendly host who explained the concept of the restaurant, and were seated. Once seated, you quickly forget that the restaurant is located in a hotel. The restaurant's decor and lighting was alluring and hip. The server explained the layout of the menu and how to order and we quickly got to work. The food was outstanding! High quality, posh dishes without the astronomical price attached. The sauces were inventive and complimented the dishes perfectly! And then the best part, a dessert that rivals the Bristol Lounge's sundae station! more

Great food. Especially the desert!! 10/25/2006

It is a great place to go on a Saturday night for a special night. I went with my mom and her friend and it was great. The food was delicous and my favorite desert would be the ""Build Your Own Sundae. It was the best like everything else they were serving. It is a great place to go eat. It is the best of boston. No lie. Best place to go on a date or just with a bunch of friends. It isn't a great place to take children. Go and try it out. It's just one of the best places in Boston. Pros: That there is a really good hotel if your a tourist. Cons: This isn't any. more

The New Hot Spot, a great meeting place, delicious food with great service and in a hotel? 10/24/2006

This place is the latest surprise in dining! Who knew that a hotel could actually put out some quality food? Generally hotels serve Sysco food but this experience was different. Sauciety is a chic little hot spot. Pros: Sauciety...run by pros Cons: Parking.....a meal discount would be nice more

Simply Put...It Was Great! 10/24/2006

Boston has a new restaurant worth experiencing! I am a local here in Boston and I am not one to dine in hotel restaurants but I had to try this one. It is overwhelming when you walk into the new Westin on the Waterfront but once you enter Sauciety, you enter the 'experience'. The hostess was very welcoming and sat my guest and I promptly even though it was a very busy night. The menu has so much to choose from- including organic chicken and pork, but it is the sauces that make it interesting. I started out with a cup of the New England clam chowder. Ok...if you want the best chowder come to Sauciety. Then, I ordered the chicken but could not decide between the sauces so our waitress brought over a sampling. That alone made my dining experience. You definitely do not go home with an empty stomach. Of course I had to finish my meal with the make your own sundae dessert. Need I say more! There is something for everyone on this menu. Pros: Service and Ambience Cons: No discount for parking more

Extremely Great Customer Service/Management and Food Satisfaction 10/17/2006

I WOULD LIKE TO START BY THANKING THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF OF SAUCIETY FOR ALLOWING ME TO ENCOUNTER SUCH GREAT EXPERIENCE IN THIS FABULOUS RESTAURANT. THE VARIETY OF SAUCES AND THE FOOD PREPARATION WAS OUTSTANDING. THE IMMEDIATE ATTENTION AND SERVICE COULDNT HAVE BEEN BETTER. THE WAITRESS WAS RESPECTFUL AND HELPFUL WITH THE SELECTION OF SAUCES FOR OUR DINNER AND DESSERT. HONESTLY I WAS CONTENT WITH THE FAST SERVICE,THE STAFF, THE SOOTHING SETTING,THE SCENERY,AND THE SMILES OF MANY OTHER CONTENT CUSTOMERS. I USUALLY LIKE TO EAT OUT AND I'VE TRAVELED TO MANY PLACES AND I EAT OUT AND WITH SUCH GREAT EXPERIENCE AT SAUCIETY I'M MORE THAN CERTAIN THAT I WILL BE A FREQUENT CUSTOMER. MY GRATITUDE IS IMENSE WITH THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. ONCE AGAIN THANKS TO THE MANAGEMENT AND STAFF FOR THE HOSPITALITY YOUR SERVICE WILL BE MEMORABLE. more

Great Dining Experience 10/15/2006

As a South Boston resident I was excited to have a much needed upscale restaurant in the neighborhood. After reading the reviews here I have not gone to the restaurant until Saturday night. I wish I had gone sooner, our experience was completely unlike the other reviews I have read. The service was prompt professional and unobtrusive. The room is very romantic and warm. The wine list has a good range of price points and included one of my favorite wines from Stags Leap. The Tuna Tartare appetizer is great and the shrimp skewers with the dipping sauces let you experience several different tastes. Our server was very helpful in selecting the sauces to go with our dishes. For an entree the surf and turf was simply outstanding. three flavors of creme brule made for a nice finish to great meal. As some one who worked in restaurants in the past I know how hard it is to work out the details in opening a restaurant but Sauciety clearly has. I can't wait to go back. Pros: Service Food Atmosphere more

Neat concept and good food eclipsed by really bad service 9/27/2006

My husband and I dine out a lot, so we were really excited to head to a new restaurant with a fun concept in a different part of the city. The hostess was nice enough, and seated us within 15 minutes on what looked like a busy night. Then at least 10 minutes later our waitress showed up -- an older woman who seemed totally out of her element. When my husband asked for some type of fruity martini, she was completely lost and couldn't think to ask the bartender for a recommendation. He finally just ordered a cosmo. Pros: Great concept, nice decor Cons: Terrible, terrible service more

Good Idea, Bad Service 9/17/2006

I have to agree with other reviewers that the service was bizarre, to say the least. We waited ages for our food and had limited interaction with our actual waitress who was very knowledgeable about the menu and recommended some great sauce/food pairngs. The other staff was either unfriendly or rude, i.e. leering down my friends shirt at her cleavage while refilling her water. Also the night that we were there the hotel was having some sort of event in the lobby and the noise from that drifted into the restaurant and made it difficult to have a conversation. Overall the food was passable and I loved the concept of trying all the different sauces but the staff ruined the experience. more

WOW what bad service 8/26/2006

I dine out a lot, but very rarely write a review for a restaurant, but I must warn you to stay away. The service at Sauciety is so terrible its not worth spending the money. Pros: Entrees Cons: Waiters, long wait for cold appetizers more

I'm a fan 8/24/2006

I enjoyed my meal at Sauciety. After reading some not so good reviews, I was a little nervous about having picked it for Restaurant Week. However, I enjoyed every part of my meal. The bread basket was fantastic -- I'm a big fan of sourdough and it was quite good. My mom was a big fan of the cranberry sourdough. The salad was among the better I have had in a long time. I thought the meal was great -- if you're looking for a solid meal w/o the frills, good portions, etc., then you'll like what Sauciety has to offer. Don't skip dessert! more

Such Slow Service 8/23/2006

I went to Sauciety with 2 friends for what we were hoping to be a nice dinner before a concert at the Fleet Pavilion. We arrived at 6 and were promptly seated. We placed our dinner order and also ordered some wine. We sat and waited for our wine, it took about 20 minutes just to come out. Our appetizers came about 40 minutes into the meal and then we sat again and waited. About 2 hours later our food finally came (only because we complained to the manager and she finally brought it out for us). Needless to say the entire dinner took 2 and half hours to finish and we were late getting to our concert! If time isnt a factor then definitely do try, the food was great- espec the pork and mashed potatoes and all the sauces. However if you have plans for after dinner or just dont want to waste 2 -3 hours at dinner, def skip this place! Pros: all the sauces to choose from Cons: slowest service ever! more

The staff must be sauced. 8/14/2006

It wasnt so much that there was any problem with the food or the environment or even the plethora of sauces. It was just that the staff was so. peculiar. Pros: sauce selection Cons: the most peculiar waitstaff/managment I've ever encountered more
