Sam Snead's Tavern

Last evening we decided on Sam Sneads for dinner. We've been to this location (and Falls of the Neuse) before, and had very pleasant experiences. But last night, we couldn't get any service. We arrived just before 8pm to find no staff at the front desk to seat guests. There was a server chatting with a couple who were leaving. Another server walked by us a couple times on his way out and back in from the terrace. Neither server said a word to us, though we were clearly waiting to be seated. After 5 minutes, we felt it was clear they did not want our business, so we left. As a former server myself, I know the initial greeting of guests when they arrive is of great importance, and last night, the staff just didn't get the job done. more

My husband and I spend our ""date nights"" at Sammy Snead's. We enjoy the comfortable athmosphere and the great staff. The staff has to actually take a test before they begin working. The crab cakes and steaks are wonderful!! It is a great place to gather with friends, as well as, a nice place to spend with someone special and have great conversation. We were looking for a new dining spot in Cary. Sam Sneads has it all. The food was delicious, especially the Angus Steak and Shrimp Carolina. The woman who is the manager, I think her name is Mary, was so sweet and nice. She made it a point to point out all the Sam Snead memorabilia, and gave us a tour of the banquet room too! The desserts were served in neat glasses, just the right size. On a scale of 1-10, this place deserves an 11! Pros: fresh food, great desserts, outstanding service more
