i could not believe that nashville has such a place that serves real italian pasta! i loved it! You will not regret!

Service from the young lady was excellent. The food was just awful. Calamari breading was falling off (if it were breaded at all. Sauce on Manicotti was just tomato paste. No ...

The management has obviously loaded this thread with their own words. I went there last week and all of our dishes were served barely warm. When we complained, they just took the food and nuked it, making it soggy and not very tasty. We did have a good waitress but when I asked for the manager, he just blew us off. I`ll never go back and suggest you don`t either. more

False advertising 1/24/2011

Had a coupon from a coupon book I purchased. Never had a problem using any of the coupons at various restaurants and businesses. When I tried to use the coupon for Sal's they told me it was not any good. It was no expired and they wouldn't give any explanation. I left the restaurant never to come back. I filed a complaint with the BBB and Tenn. Dept of Consumer Affairs over this ""false advertising"". Sal's never responded back to either complaint. In other words if you have a coupon, drive on past. There is better pizza down the road. more

worth more than you pay 9/8/2010

Ate here weekly in college(Art Institute) and now that I've moved back in the neighborhood, get to enjoy it regularly! I don't give a flip about ambience, service, or whatever! (not that it's bad) but when I think Pizza... i think sal's PIZZa Go to Sal's Pizza ... eat there if you have time and can get a parking space. It won't be like a chain pizza place, with lots of TV's and sound and decorations to distract you from the food... but then, they don't need to. The pizza is unbelievably good. I feel guilty every time I leave there because I've paid ten bucks for what's worth 20 to me! * Pros: Best Pizza in town! * Cons: Too good more

Being originally from New York, I've noticed that it was very hard to find great pizza in this town. That was until a few years ago I went to sal's Pizza. I go at least 2-3 times a week for lunch and every time it is great. Never have I had a bad meal at this authentic New York style pizza shop. Even when I bring friends, co-workers, or business clients along for lunch they agree that it is some of the best pizza they've ever had. Besides pizza they have fantastic sandwichs, fresh salads, and specialty calzones as well. Also I like to go there because of the super fast service and the great atmosphere. The reason why the food is so good because it is not rushed and is made to order. I highly recommend this restaurant to all pizza lovers and guarantee you'll never eat papa johns or pizza hut ever again. more

Terrific pizza and buffet 9/8/2010

I've seen some of the other reviewers talk about the attitude at Sal's - while it is true that this restaurant is far too busy for casual ""make nice"" chitchat with the customers, I have consistently pleasant and EFFICIENT service at Sal's. But it is really the food that makes this place so great. I frequently call ahead to order a whole pie to take home. They are generous with their toppings and each pizza is of highest quality. Because I don't like reheated slices (anywhere), I order a salad or pasta when I go at lunch - delish! A potential negative, neither of the guys who work behind the counter has a very loud voice, so you have to listen hard to hear when your order is ready. just plain awesome 9/7/2010

As an out-of-towner visiting Nashville, the place was a bit hard to find, but well worth the search. Just one slice of the highly recommended double-crust meat lovers was more than enough for this big guy's appetite. My wife and I were surprised to find tiramisu at a NY style pizza spot, but wow... that stuff is to die for. Quality matters..... By far the best restaurant I've visited in the Nashville area. more

First time at Sal's 9/7/2010

I just moved from New York a few years ago. I have been looking for a real pizza. Sal's pizza is the place that i have been looking for. First of all, the food is absolutely incredible. The pizza is amazing (Pepperoni & double-stuffed meat lovers are the best), but everything is great. People are true New Yorkers. If you're lucky, they might just yell at each other (or you!) while you're there. In New York you do not look for a good customer service, you look for a good quality food. That is how they are. You will never forget Sal's pizza! more

Def not what it used to be 8/30/2010

Sals Pizza has gone down hill on quality and service in the past couple years. I have gone to Sals since it opened and there is no denying that since the Russian guys took over quality dropped. They may have kept the name and one of the actual Italian cooks but they did not keep the quality. Dont get me wrong its decent just not amazing anymore. Do not expect any kind of customer service. The guy at the register is nothing less than a rude jerk who thinks just because you came in to order you want to wait all night while he answers 10 phone orders. But if you try to call in hes just as bad puts you on hold over and over again without even letting you say yes I can hold. Dont waste your breath complaining on Mr. Sunshine because he is the manager! Your best bet is to go in and sit down and let one of the poor girls who work for these jerks take care of you. They treat these girls like dirt with no regard to who is around. Terrible. The girls really are sweet and helpful as they can be. Its the guys in charge of the place that have such bad customer service. sad more

Awesome 6/30/2010

Sals is the friendly neighborhood pizza place with great pizza (although it is greasy). I woludn't recommend the buffet as you can get a lot more bang for your buck by ordering something off the menu. They have excellent pizza (and specialty pizzas) as well as great calzones and subs. Pros: close, friendly, tasty more

Buffett A real Waste 6/11/2010

Arrived expecting great Italian lunch - sign said ""best Italian Buffet In Town"" Wrong - For 9 dollars (includes styrofoam cup for drink) - I saw a wasteland of empty chaffing disshes. Three greesy pizzas to chose from and pasta floating in pan of water. Some fried eggplant and rock hard Italian bread left my stomach churning. Bannana pudding from a can - and no other veggie anywhere except on pizza. Big flop was no fish or pork or veal-or shrimp-or beef- or anything resembling an entree. My fault for not looking at offerings before I reached for wallet - I will never do that again!! Pros: CLose to work place Cons: Nothing Worth Eating more

Ordered at 6:12, email confirmation stated food would be delivered at 6:58pm. At 7:50 and still no food. Manager, Bob, states the problem is the fax machine. When I called at 7:15, told food was leaving in 5 minutes. Manager, Bob, less that helpful or even polite. Cons: Delivery on line more

I have tried Joe's pizza 2/7/2010

I have been a customer of Sal's pizza Murfreesboro for last six months. Before they opened this location i used to go joe's pizza. But Sal's pizza is better than any other pizza places that i have tried: Angelo's, Joye's house pizza, pizza perfect. But you have to take into account one thing... They are always busy. It is worth to wait. What i noticed they always got everybody running around in the kitchen and there is only one guy at the front taking care of pick up orders and phone calls. I think we need to give him a credit. he does his best. If you have not tried SAl's , you need to . Pros: never had a problem more
