I've been in Austin for 10 years and have gone to a number of good stylists at some of the best salons in town, but had yet to find one I just loved until I went to Charlie. He is killer with blond color and has given me a variety of cuts that work best for my hair type and face. As an added bonus, he's great to chat with over a glass of wine, which makes the time fly. more

I have recently moved from Houston to Austin and was worried I wouldn't find someone to highlight my hair like I like it (very natural like a dirty blonde color). I first learned about Salon Sovay while searching the Internet for a place that performed eyelash extensions. I emailed the salon and received a reply THAT DAY from the OWNER, Sovay; I was already impressed. I stopped by after work and she looked at my eyelashes to see if extensions would work. You see, I have been pulling out my eyelashes for MANY MANY years and had just recently decided enough was enough and I needed to stop. The eyelashes were just starting to grow out and she didn't have a whole lot to work with. She was so kind, genuine and sincere. I had always felt like such a freak and that my lack of eyelashes was the first thing people noticed. She assured me it wasn't; she just made me feel so good about myself and that there was hope. I returned a few days later and she applied the extensions and I returned every few weeks for maintenance visits until my lashes were grown out. I am happy to say I am cured of pulling out my eyelashes. They are so beautiful now!!!! I return to Sovay for eyelash tints and next time she is going to do an eyelash perm. She is very passionate about her work. She will go to great lengths to make sure you are happy with the results. I wouldn't have eyelashes today if it weren't for her. She was a great support for me throughout the process and I can't thank her enough for all she did for me and continues to do. Thank you Sovay for making me feel good about myself. I just moved to Austin, and a friend of mine recommended that I go to Brooke at Salon Sovay to get my hair cut. It was the best hair cut I have gotten in my life! She took her time and was very considerate of what I wanted. I went to work right after my new hair cut, and not only did my co-workers comment on how good it looked, but complete strangers did too! I've been going to Heather for hair styling and cutting for several years now, and I have always been super pleased with the results. She knows exactly how to cut my hair in a modern, hip way, even though my hair is curly and thick. I would reccommend her to anyone, and wish her all the best. :) more

I have been getting my hair cut and styled by Heather for three years now and she is the ONLY person I will let touch my hair with a pair of clippers. No matter what condition my hair is in when I go in, or what ideas I have about cut, she always does an excellent job. Even if I can't decide what I want, her expert opinion has consistently steered me in the right direction and I have never been dissatisfied with any of her work. I always leave feeling great and my hair keeps its style for months! Heather guarantees her cuts for up to a week afterward if you want anything changed, but I have never had to take advantage because she gets it right every time. If you're nervous about chopping off a large chunk of hair, or if you just need a few layers, go to Heather and you will not be disappointed! more

I absolutely loved this salon. Everyone was very friendly and very hospitible. I got my hair done by Heather Davis. She is, by far, one of the best stylists I've ever had. She'd very up-to-date on today's looks, techniques, and style. I live in New Braunfels and I take the time to drive all the way to Austin to let her do my hair. You just tell her what you want, she tells you what is best for you and your hair, and you leave feeling like a rockstar. Ok......I never complain....its just not my style, but this time I just have to say something. I love salon sovay and I have been their several times. Last time however I had Heather do a paritial highlight. I saw her once about 3-4 months ago for highlights and she did a pretty good job except for one area in the front of my hair that I had to keep covered up due to overhighlighting. I thought I would give her another chance so I went back to see her last week. I wanted chuncky highlights. After Heather rinsed my hair she had to put a toner on (must have been really brassy) When she began to dry my hair she faced me away from the mirror so that I could not see it. As she was drying my hair it was literally breaking off in chunks in my lap. At one point I picked up a piece, looked at it and thought... OMG she fried my hair. It was orange, fried and breaking off. Needless to say I paid 100.00. She recommended I buy some ""purple"" shampoo to tame the orange. 4 days later I had to color it myself back to its origional color. I have been growing my hair for 2 years and now its absolutely ruined. more

I saw Sovay on the recommendation of a friend. She worked me in on a Sunday and we spent a LOT of time just chatting about what I like, what I don't, what I am willing to spend money on and how often I will be willing to come in for hair mantenance. She listened and was very meticulous with my cut. We developed a plan for color as well and I am going back today for that. She also is very concerned about damaging hair and won't do anything that she isn't sure will come out perfect. ~~I am someone who hates to go to stylists becuase I am never happy and/or can never recreate at home what they did. Sovay isn't complicated and really wants you to be beautiful and confident. She's smart and talented but not pushy. And if you are not happy, she'll fix it. Solon Sovay is a quaint, little cottage where you are welcomed and made to feel as though you are family. Sovay, the owner, is extremely talented at cutting and coloring hair. Her dedication and passion for making women look and feel beautful on the outside is coupled with a keen eye for the perfect shape and color that will best fit your face and skin tone. Ever since I first moved to Austin, Erica has been my hairstylist. It has now been 4 years since my first hair cut with her and I have never been disappointed. She is quick with her work, listens to her customers, makes people feel extremely comfortable, and everyone leaves the salon feeling beautiful. In the past, I had trouble finding a hairstylist who would listen to me and not cut off too much of my hair. Erica listens and gives me the cut that I ask. She is absolutely wonderful! I have been getting my hair done by Heather Davis for a few years now. I just love the way she cuts it and styles it. I reccomend her to all my friends and anyone who is looking for a stylist. My favorite thing was the scent. The smell of aromatherapy and just a clean crisp scent is an experience in itself. First off, let me just say this: You want Heather Davis to cut your hair. For years I have been going to stylists with pictures and ideas, and I'd tell them what I'd want, but it never turned out right. I just thought my hair couldn't do those things. Wrong! I was just going to the wrong stylist. Heather is able to look at the pictures I show her and make it work perfectly for my hair-type and my face shape. I never knew I could look this good! Heather is so sweet and friendly and such a positive person. Not only is she a first-class stylist, but she makes getting your hair cut a real pleasure. I'm someone who has had terrible salon/hair experiences in the past...which has left me super paranoid about anyone putting color on my hair. I have to say that from the moment I sat in Sovay's salon chair I felt that she was so unbelievably patient and understanding. She listens to your concerns and preferences regarding your hair and gives you her honest feedback. She is great at what she does and does it because it is her passion, her artwork and makes you feel that she is thrilled for you to be sitting in her chair. I've never felt rushed or uncomfortable...nor have I ever left unhappy.
