I went to Jesephine's while on business based on a recommendation from the consierge. I had the ceasar salad which was ok and the veal parmasan which was terrible. Sadly when I asked my waiter as I was ordering, he told me that salads and parmasan dishes were their specialty. Meat was over fried. The tomato sauce was terrible. And I could see the shape of the mozzarella slice on the meat not completely melted. I will not go back. Pros: Location Cons: Atmosphere, Service, Food more

Traveling to Houston, the concierge made a suggestion for a good restaurant within walking distance of the hotel and close to the Toyota Center. The place looked very nice and the wait was short. We got seated quickly and from there out, the expedience was gone. We waited too long for drink orders, then again too long to receive or drinks/appetizers. The waiter we received was curt at best and unapologetically slow. The appetizer was disappointingly delivered at the time of the meal. The only highlight of the night was the food was actually very good. I dined on a very good pasta primavera, with very fresh vegetables and a very tasty spicy marinara. The irony is that on the tables they recognize their location and offer to share with the staff that you are in a hurry; an excellent idea we tried to capitalize on. At the end of our meal we skipped another bottle of wine as a result of the wait and asked to speak to a manager. Even the manager took 10 minutes to come visit. I spoke with her how the food was very good but we were dissatisfied with the service and wait provided. The answer I received in return was full of excuses with no intent to fix the situation at hand. \r \r I will not be referring and I will share with as many people as will listen to avoid this restaurant. First off those of you that complain about runny sauce have clearly never made it. Traditonal sauce is runny/ thin,that is unless you add a ton of cream and or butter or cheat with tomato paste (as in came out of a can). I have eaten there and often have great service and everyone I have brought there at diff times love their food. This even includes people that are Itailan. Yes the food is simple, so what it tastes good! It is food not entertainment. What do you want it to do, do a song and dance? The only time I have subpar service there is when the place is busy. It is usaully a good idea to give a place a second chance as every place has off days. Try the sicilian ziti it is a great dish and can't seem to find it elswhere. Putting up with the DT parking is worth the trip and it isn't as bad as other places DT (don't have to pay a high price or circle for an hour). This review is from a regular customer who dines in during lunchtime for 8 years now. I don't what is going on with the bad reviews and sorry if you had a horrible experience. I have lunch gatherings at Josephines during lunch time (11P.M. - 3 P.M.) . The food is good during lunch time. Take a chance and you will NOT be disappointed. Antonio is the best waiter there and is always prepare to make you laugh when you are having a bad day. Request for Antonio (the waiter) when you visit Josephines and you will be happy with the customer treatment you receive from him. He treats you like family and brightens your day or night with a smile and politeness. Antonio has a great sense of humor and is my regular waiter when I visit the restaurant. He is very polite and ready to exceed your expectation that you may have. He makes very sure you are happy and content with your food order. Everyone makes a recipe a certain way and has a way of cooking it that is why we like some cooking and dislike others' cooking. We all know you can't please everyone the importance in this all is trying. I am happy with the food during lunchtime. No matter how hard you try you can't please everyone! Our small lunch group took a co-worker here for a b-day get-together. This was my first time to dine here. I had one or two ""decent"" previous reviews. Believe me! It was not good at all. Two people had to send their items back. Sad to say, one item was a salad, a simple ceasar salad. How do you mess up a salad?! The comparison was to the taste of ""Sardines"". YUCK!! The other was the oven-fried fish. Two people tried that one and it was definitely a NO! My entree was chicken parmesan. The pasta was not drained, therefore, I ended up with ""wet"" meat. There was very little sauce on the spaghetti. I do not like wet meat! That's not good! I will however, give them the recognition only from a few that had the shrimp alfredo, they said it was ""good"". Other than that, the remainder of the party was not satisfied! Cons: TERRIBLE FOOD more

I have NEVER been served food that bad! I honestly do not understand how they can stay open. My girlfriend and I are both sick from her seafood dish. I could only stomach one bite, luckily or I might be as sick as her. My beef ravioli had ZERO flavor and the Marinara is a sad excuse. Wish I could say something good obout the food. It was nasty. What was that freaking stuffed artichoke??? Unique yes but not good AT ALL. I suggest sticking with the bread but don't blame me if you are sick later that evening. We have loved Josephine's since our first experience there. Johnny always remembers us and greets us at our table. Carlos is one of the reasons that we have made Josephine's a regular evening out. He is friendly, attentive and makes the meal that much more enjoyable. I don't understand the large number of bad reviews. Maybe I am not as sofisticated a diner as they are but I know what I like. We dine there before any downtown event and on other occasions and have NEVER been disappointed! Pros: Carlos is a super friendly server Cons: No complaints from us more

I went for appetizers before a show at House of Blues. The service was awful. We waited 30 minutes to get salads- and only two of the three arrived, and ended up leaving before the appetizers were ready- because we had been waiting an hour. The glasses were dirty (old lipstick on them), and the waiter would appear every 10 minutes promising bread. I would not recommend this place to anyone. more

We made reservations a week in advance for dinner before a concert at Toyota Center in December 2008. We arrived on time for our 6:30 reservations and were promptly seated. We ordered dinner and drinks at 6:45. At 8:00 our dinner had not arrived. We canceled our order so we could meet clients for the concert. We were still asked to pay for our drinks. We will never, ever try this place again and will discourage everyone we know from going. It was a terrible experience.
