I went to this location for dinner on a Monday night with my brother. It was the worst service ever. We ordered the fried ravioli as an appetizer. My brother had the baked ziti and I had a meatball calzone. The friend ravioli came out still FROZEN! Yes thats right, it was on the plate, and it was still frozen. I could not believe this. So I took it back to the counter, and the guy at the cash register (some kid that didnt care about service or about his customers) just took it back to the kitchen to re-fry them. Didnt even apologize at all. It was like he was doing me a favor by re-frying the ravioli. My brother ordered a glass of wine with dinner. When he received the wine, he noticed that the wine glass had lipstick stains on it! We were absolutely disgusted. He returned the wine, and the kid at the counter simply poured the wine from the lipstick stained glass to a new glass. Thats it. Didnt even apologize, yet again. We got the food in a timely manner, but my calzone was bland and over all not tasty. I will never come back to this establishment again. I'm a pizza snob and the first bite of this one and my eyes were closed and my mouth was in pure delirious joy. My friend introduced me to it by bringing a slice over for movie night, I couldnt focus on anything but this huge amazing slice of goodness. I urge everybody to get a slice: it'll change you. more

I took my dinner club Eight Friends Out to NY Pizzeria for a little taste of how it's done back east, and our host Jorge made sure we were royally cared for. We had a mini-Progressive dinner starting at Farrago's for drinks and moving to NY Pizzeria, so I stopped in early to confirm arrangements with Jorge. He was extremely accomodating and made sure we received special seating, special service, and of course, the most delicious thin crust pizza in Houston! We had 5 different kinds, extremely flavorful and crispy, and then we ended with huge desserts fit for a true NY or Boston Italian...Italian cream cake, a dark chocolate cake, NY cheesecake, and my favorite--a connoli they filled fresh with ricotta & chips--yum yum! Thanks to Oscar and his crew life in Houston is a bit more bearable!! I can close my eyes and believe for a few seconds that I'm home. I have never had any problems with service. Everyone has always been polite and attentive. Perhaps the other person who reviewed New York Pizzeria had their cell phone turned off? I ordered a pizza after receiving a circular on my door earlier in the week. An hour and a half later, I called to inquire as to the status of my pizza. The employee informed me that they couldn't get into my complex and had simply given up, without even a phone call! He informed me that ""it's only a pizza, it's not the end of the world"" after I questioned his customer service skills. Do not recommend using ordering their pizza for delivery!! I live at the post so this place is easy to walk to. They have 3 tables out front when the weather is nice. They are very nice people working there. I think they have wait staff but I never see them. Normally if you order from the register they bring the cook bring the food to you. If you eat there the pizza is always good. I have ordered out a few times from friends homes and the pizza always seems soggy. It really does fell like you are in New York. They have a great dessert selection. i usually order pizza at least 1 or 2 times a week (sometimes 3). about 3 months ago i discovered new york pizza. the best kept secret in my neighborhood. the cheese pizza is amazing- especially the huge 29"" pizza for a great value. i have referred all of my friends to new york pizza and they too now consider it their favorite. However, i have only eaten at 2 locations. the location by the galleria on westheimer was no where as delicious as the one located on west gray. besides the taste, the service is fantastic. they recognise me when i call to order (maybe not a good thing :) ) i always pick up my order. delivery is handy, but it never tastes as good.
