Worst

I love going to rumjungle before it turns into a nighclub, it is a very cool place to have some drinks and eat. However as far as a nighclub goes it overpriced for drinks, even by...

The ambience here is best. 12/31/2008

Rumjungle is a fun restaurant in Mandalay Bay, known for its selection of 225 rums in the world?s largest rum bar. It serves open fire cooked met in the Brazilian style where they bring unlimited quantities of various varieties right to the table. I happen to like this style a lot, but this particular restaurant was no better than others of a similar vein. As for the food, here in Las Vegas I prefer Samba Gill in The Mirage, or Yolie?s which is just off the strip on Paradise. But the ambiance at Rumjungle is best. Things change at 11 p.m. though. Rumjungle turns in to a very fun night club, featuring Salsa music and dancing. They even have professionals to help teach for those who are interested. more

Great Drinks! 7/2/2008

This is a place you should visit for the bar and not the food. The bar is spectacular and drinks are great. Of course, you must try the many falvors of rum from all over the world. For food, stick to one of the 20 other places to eat at the hotel. But be sure to have some rum before or after your meal!. Try the pyrat rum, it's our favorite. This is an upscale bar, so the drinks will be more pricey than at other places, but you get what you pay for. Don't visit this bar if only drinking beer, visit this bar for their specialty cocktails and rum. more

Not good....at all!!!!!!!!!! 6/24/2008

Went with friends who heard great thing about it. Everything lacked..taste, value, ambiance, service. Thank goodness we didn't order from the fire pit like our friends. They spent twice as much as us...(125.00 per couple)...The meat was either overcooked, or under cooked and our selection which was crab cakes and chicken skewers was tastless, and the chicken was more like jerky. Our drinks were very tiny and weak and cost 9 buck a piece. I would never waste money there again. more

Terrible service 9/24/2007

I waited 10 minutes for a hostess to come up to me and seat me. Never came. I walked out. I also tried to sit at a bar in an upper level room and was rudely told that it was closed. I'll never go back. more

Monday Nights!!!! 6/10/2007

Went to rumjungle twice, both times on Monday nights. Got there around 1030 both times- it's a good time to avoid the line/cover, get a drink, take a look around, get a hand stamp. Check out another bar/club and then head back to rumjungle- favorite vegas experience. Great bartenders (you hook them up and they'll hook you up), ample seating(bottle service not required), nice size dance floor, gihugic bars, and a mixed crowd. There were some times when I questioned the dj-but it was interesting to have live percussionists accompany the dj. Will def head back! Pros: Bartenders, scene, free! Cons: at times, the dj more

Fantastic place and staff! 4/12/2007

Ok, so my husband and i didn't experience Rumjungle the nightclub. But what we did experience late afternoon/early evening during our stay at the Mandalay Bay and on previous stays really did help make our holiday. We first came to Rumjungle 6 years ago and liked it then. This was when we first encountered Greg the "evil" barman. I defy anyone not to be entertained by this guy. We are just back from Vegas and spent some very happy if drunken hours in Rumjungle. If you don't feel like a full meal then grab some of the excellent appetizers. The cocktails are fab. We love the place and will hopefully be back. See you then Greg! more

One of my favorite clubs in Vegas! 11/16/2006

I was first introduced to Rumjungle many moons ago and fell in love with it immediately. The waterfalls that separate the club from the restaurant next door have always fascinated me. There are catwalks where girls come out and dance, the music's really cool, and their bathrooms are absolutely disgusting--all hallmarks of a great club! I can't wait to go back... more

Not impressed 11/15/2006

I went to this club because someone recomended it but I was not impressed. The place is too cramped esp. at the bar area and the dance floor is much too small not typical of a Vegas club. The only good thing was that we didn't wait in line a very long. more

nice atmosphere 11/13/2006

this place is a rum drinkers paradise. A huge selection of liquers at the bar, awsome Go Go's that fly overhead on wires and ziplines, and a great set of bongos that live percussionist performs on. Think the dance floor could be a little bigger, but overall its worth checking out. Pros: arial go go dancers and lots o rum. Cons: dancefloor and line. more

better clubs in Vegas 11/9/2006

I've been to Rumjungle a few times over the past few years. Not condusive for mingling, dance floor not big enough, drinks way overpriced, and too crowded. I liked Rain at the Palms much better. Pros: dancers in cages and drummers Cons: overpriced drinks, poor crowd control, small dance floor more

I wasn't a rum person when I walked in.... 11/8/2006

....but I am two stumbles closer to being one now. Loved the decor, service was stellar, and the overhead show was wild. Recommended to start your night! more

Ok club, bad restaurant 11/2/2006

Don't eat here it stinks. Club is ok, lots of attractive people. Dance floor is poor. Cover charge shouldn't exsist. Service is not bad, drinks are expenisve, bottle service is expensive, good place to meet people. Cons: food more

Great dancing and atmosphere 10/30/2006

this was a great place for dancing after hours. The service was also great and they provided free water. more

Excellent for dinner, not so good for clubbing 10/30/2006

We had a great meal here, served Cuban style with the meat slow roasted on skewers and then served to you by a very knowledgable server. Our server was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of, even in a very busy restaurant. This place is not for vegetarians, as their is no main course, just skewers of meat brought out in courses, in addition to salads and rice dishes as well. We had several different types of meat and all of them were excellent, tender, some spicy some on the sweeter side. We had all the bases covered with pork, steak, chicken and a divine salmon dish that we couldn't get enough of. The chocolate cigar dessert is a fun novelty dessert, being ice cream and chocolate shaped like a smoking cigar. That being said, we stayed and ordered bottle service after hours for the club. This place has a big reputation but not a big crowd. It seems the heyday of this uberclub have passed and been replaced by places like Tao and Studio 54. In a tough club market like Vegas one has to stay up on the latest trends to keep the crowd coming in, and Rumjungle has failed to do this. You won't see any celebrities here, it's a been there, done that kind of club. Even though we were VIP we didn't get the treatment we have had sitting VIP in other clubs such as Taboo or Studio 54. Pros: unique and delicious food, great servers for dinner time Cons: after hours club is dead! more

Pretty good 10/30/2006

This was the last club that my friends and I went to on a Friday night, so the crowd wasn't as thick as it could have been. Still, we were able to get in for free with no cover, and the music was pretty good. It was unique how that they mixed up-to-date music with accompaniment by a live, house band. A couple of sketchy guys hovered too close, but there were also some nice guys there. Plus, the flowing water, cage dancers, and huge bar provided a lot of good ambience. I would go again. Pros: Good atmosphere, free water Cons: A little hard to find more

Try the Jambalaya... 10/22/2006

The decor is fun and the food is very good. I tried the jambalaya and, a year later, I'm still thinking about it !! The service was friendly and our waiter went out of his way to keep us comfortable. I highly recommend it as a restaurant. After 11 pm it turns into a dance club that is fun and alive. We had dinner and stayed in so we did not pay a cover charge. Although we did not stay long (I'm not fond of clubs) the music was good and so was the ambiance. more

Good food early, but not that much happening in the club 9/10/2006

Was there on Friday night (9/8/06) for dinner. Good quality beef and presentation. Had the Argentian Skirt steak, my friends had the endless fire pit. My steak portion could have feed two people, my bros did their best impression of sumo wrestlers and downed at least 2 lbs. of pork, beef, chicken and lamb. As for the club, it was only OK. Lots of guys and not much room to sit unless you do bottle service. And if you're going to drop $300 or $400, do it at a rockin club like Ghost Bar, Pure or the Mix. When eating there you get in free later, so worth checking it out late night. Saturday night stuck me head in and the club was going good, but decided to try the Mix. Pros: Good beef and excellent service for the resto, get in free to club when eating Cons: Friday night the club as dead average, Saturday night was jumping more

Visually Pleasing 8/13/2006

We went here after dinner to start the night out. It looks very appealing from the outside and curiosity makes your step inside. We got there around 10pm and did not have to pay a cover charge. There is a huge 'wall of liquor' that goes up behind the bar at least 30 feet. I never knew that many different kinds existed! I marveled at it as my very kind female bartender echoed in agreement. The 'water and fire' theme is prevalent throughout. There is plenty of seating and it wasn't too crowded yet. The starlit sky bathrooms are especially appealing when you need to take a moment out. I noticed a couple of larger parties and the bar seemed to accommodate them quite well. Drinks are average. Pros: nice bartender, large seating area more

Fun Atmosphere with Good Food 8/1/2006

Get there early to miss the cover charge, enjoy the fun atomsphere and try original main courses that are reasonably priced. The flank steak and the grilled chicken were excellent plus definitely save room for dessert. Pros: Ambience, Price and Good Food more

Editorial
  • In Short
Outside the door of Red Square stands a decapitated statue of Lenin. The head only lasted a month before complaints by retired servicemen convinced Mandalay Bay to chop it off the replica of the Soviet Communist leader. Inside, however, everything Russian reigns. The red decor will match the blood rushing to your head after knocking back a Stoli. With more than 100 varieties of vodka, this is the center of the Vegas martini world.
