Best

Great food! The best pancakes we've ever had! Wonderful service! The waiter was at our beck and call. This was a Very Nice dining experience! Pros: Great food !Great Servi...

Worst

Chocolate croissants look soooo delicious, but they turned out to be the worst croissant I've ever eaten! Not to mention that it's also the most expensive croissant I've seen $6.9...

Don't be fooled by the look!!! 5/5/2009

Overpriced, but not as bad as everyone says 4/3/2009

Roxy's isn't as bad as everyone says. Granted, it's overpriced, but it's in Times Square. Also, I wasn't crazy about the $3 sharing fee. But the wait staff was not rude like many of the other reviews say. Our waiter was actually very nice. We got the Corn Beef sandwhich and the Pastrami sandwhich. Both had good flavor. The cheese cake wasn't very good. We were from out of town so can't really compare anything else.... so we kind of liked it. Pros: location Cons: overpriced, fee to share food more

BAD BAD BAD! 8/5/2008

DO NOT EAT HERE! Food could not be worse if you tried! My husband's burger was sooooo dry. My chicken no flavor at all. Service was soooo slow. The worst meal I had in NYC!!! Oh and don't get me started on the price! Pros: NONE AT ALL Cons: service, food, value did I mention the food more

NEVER go there!!!!!!! 6/2/2008

would NEVER recommend this ""deli"" to anyone. Myself and my 3 friends were having lunch even though we were not happy with the prices. $27 for a club sandwich and $12 for a hamburger. We actually saw a male employee assult a female customer because she brought a McDonald's bag in with her. Then when she and her pregnant sister left the employee procceded to flip her off in the deli when they were telling their group about what happened. Myself and my group plus another couple that was there to witness this incident cancelled our orders and left the place letting the employees know why we were leaving. The employees just shrugged their shoulders and pointed the way out. Worse place that I have ever visited in New York. Cons: OVERPRICED RUDE EMPLOYEES more

Gross, must survive on tourists 5/31/2008

I went with a friend when we were walking around Times Square. First the hostess downstairs could barely speak English when my date asked if we could eat upstairs, and she didn't seem to want to let us go up, but finally we just went upstairs. There were about a dozen tables upstairs and only one or two were full, with at least 3 booths open, so when the waitress seated us at a tiny table, my date asked if we could have a booth, and the waitress said no! But while we were sitting, another party of two was seated at one of the booths! They were done quickly and were soon replaced by another party of two! (Those two people did not even stay to eat - a good choice - and were quickly replaced by another party of two.) First we each ordered soup, and since the soup of the day was split pea, which I like, I tried it, but it was awful. Ben's Deli has pea soup on Tuesdays and it's SO much better. Then the waiter never even bothered to ask if we wanted anything else (we wanted to share a sandwich), so we had to flag him down to order. The cornbeef was very fatty and unappetizing. I didn't see the check, but I sure hope that they didn't charge us the $3 sharing fee for the sandwich, since we did each order a bowl of soup first. Just stay far away from this gross, rude place and go to Ben's. Cons: rude service, bad food more

Best cheesecake ever 3/23/2008

me and my family just went up there about a week ago. all of my friends told me that i should go to roxy's and we all decided to. when we got there they were extremely nice and seated us quickly. the plates are huge and the food is sooo good. i got a reuben and had to share it with my father because it was soo huge. but the food is delicious. now on to the cheesecake....its absolutely positively the best cheesecake in the whole of new york city. its huge (so share it with a friend) and it tastes delicious! we ended up eating there twice because we thought it was so good. Pros: cheesecake, classic reuben Cons: not the cleanest place. more

THE BEST I EVER HAD!!! 1/20/2008

I ate at ROXY'S last night after seeing Hairspray... it was AWESOME! The sandwiches are legendary! It's a little pricey, but I pay 10 bucks for a sandwich subway... I paid 18.00 here. The CHEESECAKE was honestly THE BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! I had strawberry... would have tried more but I would have busted lol. I have read some of the negatives responses here.... these people either have an alterior motive or are very bored... Roxy's was the GREATEST! Will return soon! more

Overpriced huge sandwiches 1/18/2008

Eh. I was here on business so I didn't have to pay - so I didn't care about the cost. If you order a club sandwich, it will be so big you cannot fit your mouth around it. This is not a good thing - it may look and sound cool, but it's impossible to eat without diseccting your meal in front of your date. Food wasn't that great. Tasted like low-quality diner food to me. Chicken was dry. Fries were mushy. It was fun to go there but I won't go again. more

NEVER EAT HERE!!! WORST PLACE I'VE BEEN TO!!! NEVER EAT HERE!!! 1/1/2008

This place is waaayyy overpriced!!! Even then, they have no problem with overcharging you. Just one example... I ordered a hot chocolate, priced $3.25 in the menu. I was charged $4.95, but when I pointed out the error to the manager, with the menu in hand for proof, he said that it was the right price and told me to leave. Before leaving, I went to use the bathroom. While waiting in line, I met 2 women behind me. They had been seated at a table and ordered their meals. They said the waiter was rude the entire time, and immediately after their food arrived, he slapped the ticket down on the table, informing them that they had exactly 1 hour from the time on the ticket to eat and leave. Every hour after that was an extra $20. On top of all that, the bathroom was disgusting! I've seen port-a-johns cleaner than that. The garbage was overflowing, the toilet had flowed out onto the floor. There was fecies on the seat. **shuddering** It makes me sick just thinking about it. Pros: Good Cheesecake Cons: Rude staff, very very expensive, filthy bathroom, managment encourages over charging more

""F"" You 12/30/2007

""F"" You !!! "" is exactly what the manager said to us as we left the restaurant. In fact the exact words to my husband were ""F"" you, you ""F-ing"" idiot! You're a piece of S**t! Get the ""F"" out of here. ""F"" You!"" Cons: Rude, overpriced, and slow more

The worst deli in NYC!!! 10/22/2007

I love delis, but this ain't one of them! I hate this place. No one in NYC should step foot in it. The worst service, DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY!, the worst host in town. Lazy, Lazy Lazy service! I brought friends who were visiting here after a show. Much to my embarrassment, this happens to be some of the worst! overpriced food... It was bad from the moment the ungracious fat host sat us. Close this place down, and make room for NYC greatness! Pros: Location Cons: Everything else! more

AWESOME CHEESECAKE!! 3/9/2007

We are in NYC for both business and pleasure...saw this place advertised on CityBuzz in our hotel room. Thought we'd check it out - glad we did! Saw others with HUGE sandwiches...menu is a bit pricey so decided to share - and were willing to pay the sharing charge. Our waitress said she would waive the sharing charge if we ordered a dessert - so we ordered a slice of NY Cheesecake to share. Sandwich was wonderful - but the cheesecake was DIVINE! Will definitely make this a stop on our next trip to NYC! Too bad they don't offer the nationwide shipping of the cheesecakes anymore! :) Pros: Best cheesecake ever! Cons: Menu is rather pricey - don't bother if fast food prices are what you are looking for! more

WORST NYC DELI -- EVER. You want to know why!! $40 sandwiches that are served w/ DIRTY FINGERS 1/18/2007

I am an avid restaurant reviewer - just take a look at my profile. I take pride in eating out and being able to write a fair review for any restaurant. But with Roxy Deli, I cannot get myself to say anything good about this Roxy DUMP. My food not only arrived COLD, there were fingerprints all over my plate, right up to where my eggs and bagel were placed. I can't imagine them flipping my eggs with their bare hands! Just filthy. Oh and my bagel was ROCK HARD too. So I talked to the server, which did not want to do anything, so I asked for the manager and he just stood there like, ""What do you want me to do about this?"" APPALLING. So then I asked if he had a supervisor and finally, 15 minutes later, some guy came over and said that he would give me a new plate. I told him NO. I even asked him if he would eat this cold breakfast filled with fingerprints all over it? He said, No. They ended up taking my breakfast charge off the bill. As we left this dump, some ladies were going in and asked us if it was good. I responded, ""This place has the worst food."" And then all of a sudden, one of the waiters chased me down the stairs and told me to get the F out or else he would beat me down. So if you want the WORST Filthy Deli Food in NYC and then be threatened to be beaten, then go to this place. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Cons: EVERYTHING YOU CAN IMAGINE - EVIL service, $40 old charred meat deli sandwiches more

Don't Know about the Food but the Black and White Cookies are great! 12/28/2006

What can I say, I'm addicted to their pastry... while it is a little pricey $5.00 a cookie, it is a great treat with a cup of coffee while you watch the crowds or manuver through the crowds... Pros: Love the pastry Cons: a bit expensive more

$3 sharing charge? NO kids' menu?! What restaurant is that!!! 11/3/2006

I brought my kids -- 13, 8, 6 year-olds and my sister to see the ""Tarzan"" show on Broadway. The kids were thirsty, my sister was hungry, so we went inside Roxy. After ordering one chicken bites for me and the kids, and one chef salad for my sister, plus 5 drinks, we were told there are a $3 sharing charge, which means they were going to charge $15 for my 3 kids for ordering nothing(drinks don't count) while sitting in their valuable seats. Ok, we heard about seating charge before, fine, let's pick some bites. We flipped through the menu, there was no kids' menu!!! So our choice was 1) order 5 dishes of adult size, to feed the only hungry person in 5 people, and leave lots of leftovers that we cannot carry (we don't want smelly food in the theater) or 2) pay $15 sharing charge for nothing. Of course we didn't choose either, we left. more

Mediocre food and worse service ever! 8/5/2006

The food was mediocre at best but it was the horrible service that made me vow never to go back. Immediately after we paid, the waiter took the money and said, ""okay, you guys are outta here. There are other people waiting!"" We weren't even at our table for more than an hour total. As we were leaving, the couple standing by the door said to another waiter, ""we're not in a hurry. Our friends have not arrived yet."" So rushing us out was absolutely unnecessary! For the people who want great food plus great service, Roxy is a place to AVOID! Cons: Terrible service more

Great Cheescake! 6/24/2006

I got an excellent piece of cheesecake and we had several other nice pastries. I would recommend Roxy's for that, but not for their food. My son and his girlfriend both wanted cheeseburgers and they were huge! But, they were too big for the bun. Consequently, their burgers fell apart in their hands and made such a mess that they did'nt feel like finishing them. Also they were $15 each! I had a huge pastrami sandwich on a roll. It was $14 not really bad for a pound of Pastrami-but it didn't have much taste-I've had better for less elsewhere! Pros: Great Pastries. Cons: mediocre and overpriced food. more

IT's a New York deli!! not a 4 star rest! 3/2/2006

Not bad 11/23/2005

Food- there way a lot like i mean my family took pictures of it it's so huge....so yeha the price might be a little on the high side, there's a lot of food to share between 2 semi hungry people. YAY REUBENS Pros: big food Cons: small more
