Roto-Rooter Plumbing & Drain Service

My wife had surgery and I just brought her home for a few days of bed rest. Our oldest son and our two grandchildren came that Friday to spend the night with Grandma before school started. It's now 10:30 Saturday, after making a big breakfast, I find that I have NO hot water! Tahts when I went straight to the "yellow pages" and found Roto-Rooter was local, had senior discount and no extra charge on weekends. When I called Roto-Rooter around 11:00am and asked about service, the immediate response was, "No problem, will have someone there within 3 hours." By 1:30 Roto-Rooter called to inform us we were next on the list and they will call back when he is on his way. The repairman was here by 3:30 and he told us he thought he could repair our water heater for a few hundrecd and save the cost of $500 - $1200 for a new heater. By 4:15 we ahd hot water and we3re totally relieved it didn't cost us for a new water heater. Best part was that it was fixed in a few hours. Roto-Rooter mad for a very pleasant weekend after all! more

I live in a rural neighborhood about 50 miles south of Pittsburgh. I have an old sewerage system with terracotta drainage over 60 years old, needless to say it had gotten blocked and a plumber was needed. I had called a local plumber 3 days earlier....and was told they would get back to me...never heard from them. I called back and canciled,then called Roto-Rooter. Late in the evening on August 14th in Pittsburgh, around 10 PM, we found ourselves in the need of a plumber due to a sewage backup in our garage. I knew that I would pay a premium for off hours service, but frankly I could not take the odor :( We called 3 different services and Roto-Rooter came back with the quickest time so we went with them. Our technician Matt showed up ahead of schedule and was incredible to work with. What a, well, crappy job and to be called out at such a late hour, and he we friendly and professional. He took his time to access the situation and gave us his quote, which was the same price as the other services plus the guarantee was better than our other plumber. It was a pleasure having Matt on the job and so far all is well. I would definitely work with Roto-Rooter again. more

I called Roto-Rooter because of a clogged kitchen sink, broken garbage disposal and dripping tub faucet. The plumber was there for hours more than happy and eager to get our problem resolved as soon as possible. Roto-Rooter customer service was great. That night after the plumber left the tub faucet was still dripping. We called the next day to have someone return to check on it. We had the same plumber return. The plumber was very apologetic and sincere. After the plumber left this time the drip was almost completely gone it was very small. Before I went to work that day, I decided to use the dishwasher for the first time after everything was fixed. I got off work that night and opened the dishwasher and there was water sitting in the bottom of it. I called Roto-Rooter again the next day, I mentioned the drip again not sure if I should because it was so small and explained what the issue was this time. Someone came back again and check things out. Roto-rooter continued to help, with customer service that was pleasantly surprising for this day and age, every time I called. Overall customer service made me feel better, all though there was the issue that the job took three days to resolve instead of one and outside services were needed with more substantial and additional cost. more

Ken was professional, friendly but steady to the job, efficient, willingly to share information about what he was doing so I could understand it, neat, thorough -- everything you would want a plumber handling your stopped up kitchen sink to be. This is my second encounter with this company. It was an professional and efficient process from the time of my call unitl the plumber walked out of the door. The plumber arrived on time, assessed the problem, explained in (laymen terms) exactly what could potential be wrong and how the system should work. Roto-Rooter Plumbers of Pittsburgh responded to our call for assisstance with a leaky hot water tank within an hour. A plumber came out right away, told us what we needed and gave us an estimate. He got all the neseccary parts and had our hot water tank changed within 2 hours. The plumber (Ken Baker) was very friendly and professional and did a excellent job. more

Called Roto-Rooter last Monday regarding a clogged kichen sink. was able to come out that day after i got home from work. the workers were freindly and respectful to our house and animals. they were able to quickly pinpoint the problem and fixed it. they even took the time to look into a non-related plumbing issue. even though they couldn't resolve the problem they gave me an estimate for whenever i wanted to tackle that issue. this was the 2nd time i used Roto-Rooter and i will continue to use them in the future!! more

I had a terrible clog, and these guys had someone at my house to give me the estimate quickly, he was nice, courteous and told me I needed a high pressure hose. He made some calls and I had someone at my house about 2 hours later...great for short notice!! On 5/24/11 we found out that we had a clogged upstairs toilet. Roto-Rooter came out quickly and gave us an estimate and we scheduled an appointment for the next day. They arrived on time the next day and removed the toilet and cleaned the line. This was all done in a relatively short time and the work was done in a very professional manner. We were very happy with their work and would recommend them to other customers. more
