Me and my wife had an amzing experience with Roots. She was so patient with us, and was always available for questions. We had our wedding at Red Butte, so we didn't need a ton of flowers. She knew exactly what we would need, without overdoing it. I would recomend Roots Flower Shop not just for the amazing arrangements, but the customer service. Rachael really took care of us! more

When I walked into Roots for the first time I was ready to pitch a cot in the corner and move in. Everything about the place emanates class, charm, and uniqueness. It doesn?t matter if you buy a single flower, or a $100 arrangement, they girls in the shop will treat you the same. You can get pretty flowers all over town, but it?s the little things that set this place apart. I had Rachael do the flowers for a bridal shower I threw and she did an amazing job. I gave her my strict budget which she stuck too and created some of the most beautiful arrangements I've ever seen. I didn't ask for anything crazy but she understood the look I was going for and I couldn't have been happier with what she brought. I was very happy with the service (she delivered them to my house the day before and helped set them up) and will definitely use Roots again for future events. She went above and beyond for me. more

Rachael did the flowers for my wedding last month and I have nothing but GREAT things to say!!! Everyone has their own stuff going on and no one knows or takes into concideration what Rachael has endured this past year. Even through the bad, Rachael and her staff worked extreamly hard to give me the wedding of my dreams. Her flowers are unlike anyone elses in town and no one even comes close. she may be hard to get a hold of but once you do, she delivers everything and more that she promises. I WOULD RECOMMEND ROOTS TO DO ANYONES WEDDING AND WOULD NEVER THINK TWICE ABOUT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE. Once again Roots brought a huge smile to my wife's face. Roots' creativity and beautiful arrangements are unmatched by any florist I have ever attempted to use. The staff is curteous and knowlegdable. Even after a dozon trips to Roots I will be back for more. Thanks for being the go to florist anytime I am in the doghouse. Rachael, I just wanted you to know how grateful and how happy we our with everything you have done. You always seem to out do yourself every year when we get flowers. I know your industry is tough everyone has a champagne apatite on a beer budget but 99.9% of the time you pull it off. I'm so sorry about your loss in October I couldn't image loosing a sister at such a young age. No one can touch the things you do with flowers!!!! amazing gift you have keep up the good work. WARNING TO ALL BRIDES: DO NOT USE THIS FLORIST!!! Phew...what a relief to read these other 1 star reviews here and know that I am not the only one whose wedding got DESTROYED by Roots. I thought Rachael, the owner, just hated me and sabotaged my wedding on purpose. :) Now, I realize, they are just completely incompetent and inconsiderate. To begin with, my first meeting with her went well (despite the fact that she was 45 minutes late - which should have been a warning sign - and had a ""migraine"" ...read hangover). I brought in photos of exactly what I wanted, and gave her my budget and she said it looked beautiful and was excited to do it all! ""Great"", I thought, and I booked her that day. We wrote up a contact of everything we had discussed and off I went, back to San Francisco thinking I had found the perfect florist. As the months went by, I found it impossible to get in touch with her (as others here have mentioned), but tried not to worry. However, all hell began to break lose when I came back into town for my wedding weekend. Two days before my wedding, she met me at my venue in Park City for a walk through of the space, and all of a sudden, starts telling me that she cannot do what we agreed upon within my budget. As if I didn't have enough stress two days before the wedding... My husband ends up having to call her and fight it out while I am too upset to even talk to her. He agrees to pay her more money to get me exactly what I wanted, and what we had a signed contract for. Already I am pissed...but it gets SO much worse... Enter the BIG DAY! She shows up LATE with NOTHING like what I ordered!!! Even after we gave her more money to get it done!! She had completely cut down the flowers to almost nothing, didn't complete the centerpieces, didn't make the bouquets I had ordered, and like others mentioned, made no boutineers or corsages for the parents. I was devastated. I had designed my entire wedding decor around the centerpieces that I had given her a photo of, and she didn't even make what I ordered. When I saw what she had done, I spent the moments before walking down the aisle in the bathroom CRYING over the flowers on my wedding day. What a nightmare. In retrospect, she spent our entire first meeting talking about her bitter divorce, so it seems to me this woman just HATES brides and hates seeing anyone happy on their wedding day. I am not sure who these people are that have posted 5 star reviews, but where I am from, a contract is a contract, and brides should get what they pay for! We used Roots for our 2008 wedding and were looking forward to experiencing her beautiful work. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a great experience turned into a horrible one! As others have said, this florist is extremely hard to get ahold of! I always had to call several times and leave several messages before she would respond. I tried to contact her for approx. 1 month before my wedding and never heard back until the morning of the wedding. I actually think she forgot about us! She showed up late and brought flowers that were nothing like what I requested!!! For example, I specifically told her NO roses and that I had to have some hydrangeas. I had TONS of roses and no hydrangeas! It was in my contract so I know that she was aware of what I wanted! She didn't even bring the corsages or boutonnieres for my grandparents or all of my centerpieces! It was awful! When I tried to talk to her after the wedding to see about a refund she wouldn't return any of my calls or emails. I ended up contacting the Better Business Bureau and she sicked her lawyer on me...... Long story short, she is a horrible business person, horrible at communicating and you'll be lucky to get what you paid for! I could've gone to costco and gotten wholesale flowers and done a much better job myself! I wish I would have!! DON'T USE ROOTS FLOWERS FOR YOUR WEDDING!!!!!!!!!! more

I've ordered numerous boquets from Roots, all gorgeous. The arrangements are very unique and the store is just as charming. I attended a wedding where Roots did the flowers. It was spectacular; unlike anything I've seen before. You will spend a little more than other places, but you get what you pay for. more

I also had same experience with missjane75. Rachel never returned my call or e-mail. Also they charged my credit card without telling us.( she told us that she will call before they gonna charge left over payment) she seems like always busy and out of town and not very good at communicating. I had the same experience as the one below. She did not return my phone calls or emails so I decided to use someone else. Our wedding isn't until Sept. Rachel was very friendly when we met and does have good ideas. Seems like she is just too busy. Sounds like I made the right choice to find a different florist! more

We choose Rachael to do the flowers for our wedding, which was a big mistake. She never returned my calls or e-mails and when I finally would get a hold of her, she claimed that she did respond to my e-mails. Pros: Absolutely nothing Cons: Got the run around, lied to used cheap flowers more

Roots has done the flowers for my wedding, my reception and my friends wedding/reception. My friend had a larger budget and her flowers for her wedding were absolutely outragous and fabulous, And, all three occasions were made special by the unique and classy displays of flowers made by Rachael and her staff. For many years I frequented flower shops like ""flowerama"" and other traditional flowerist for special occasions. I had no idea how lame those places are compared to Roots. I went to Roots for an anniversary and Rachael and her employee were great! I had my 9 week old english bulldog with me and they let him run around the store while they were putting my arrangement together. When I came back for another special event about 6 months later she asked where my puppy was! Very friendly and they take pride in their arrangements. If you are the ""traditional"" flower buyer I suggest stepping outside the box and trying Roots! Always friendly and always unique! Pros: Quality, Staff, Delivery more

Roots is a beautiful store, and being such, I expected just as good service for my wedding. I requested peonies for my May wedding, and was desperately disappointed to see small round buds show up! I even requested open flowers after the bouquet for my bridal flowers was little buds. The management is deceptive regarding exact flower planning costs, and the bill ended up being twice as high as the given budget!! I wouldnt' have minded so much, except for the fact that the flowers didn't even look like peonies. My bad experience with Roots goes as far as peonies, and they may be good for other things, but if you want beautiful peonies I've heard that Flowers On The Vine is a great store for them. more

Rachel and her team did the flowers for my wedding several years ago. I really can't say enough about how amazing the flowers were!! Truly magical. Plus, Rachel worked with me on every detail, made great suggestions and worked with both my budget and color scheme. She is creative, great at what she does AND she makes it all fun!! Her team set everything up and did it all on time. I had no stress whatsoever about the flowers, including all the bouquets and boutonnieres getting to the church and distributed. As anyone who's had a wedding can tell you, anything that makes it less stressful is invaluable. I have recommended her to everyone I know for any flower needs and will continue to do so. I just requested that dingusmccracken's review be removed. I just encountered this florist in preparation for my own wedding and they thoroughly impressed me. Don't listen to some idiot who is out to smear someone's reputation without knowing what they are talking about. Judge for yourself. If you need a florist in SLC, I'd recommend starting at Roots. more

Wow! That is all I have to say! My friends wedding was spectacular! I was not only captured by all the beautiful flowers...but the florists were doing everything they could to make sure everything looked great. It was pouring rain, right before the ceremony and after they were out there wiping off chairs and escorting guests to their seats, even holding my friends dress up off the wet trail as she walked to her man. I have been to many weddings, and that was best time I have ever had at the wedding. And finally the FLOWERS wow.wow.wow pure talent. The archway was breathe taking and people would not stop talking about her bouquet. I know they will hopefully do my flowers one day, beacuse I know I will not have to stress and I know it will be a dream. Thank You very much girls for it all! more
