Loved my experience at the Longfellow Neighborhood's gem of a spa, the Riverstone. They did a wonderful job scheduling my services which was a bit tricky given my schedule. Friendly and personable. An incredible massage and relaxing facial. Treat yourself to some luxury and follow it with a treat and coffee and Turtle Bread just across the street! more

I just got my brows fixed by Nellie at Riverstone! She is amazing, the place I was going to before was leaving me with next to nothing, now I look good!! I also see Danielle for my Color and Cuts, and she always does a great job, she keeps it fun and low maintenance (just like me!) Nellie also turned me to eyelash tinting, and I really like it it's me, but only better, I am not much of a make up girl so I never really have worn mascara, so this was perfect for me!! I had an appointment for a facial with Laura that I had been looking forward to for awhile. When I arrived I was greeted by another esthetician who said she would be doing my appointment. I was very put off by this. I requested Laura for a reason and was told once I was there that she was no longer there. And of course they wouldn't tell me where she was. I stayed for the facial because it was so uncomfortable I didn't know what else to do. It was not the best facial, or even a good facial. I wish they would have called me to tell me Laura left instead of blindsiding me with someone else. Also they were fairly rude to me when I was asking questions. Needless to say I will not be going back! more

I went to Riverstone Salon on Saturday and had a great haircut and a color overhaul! My stylist Danielle FIXED my hair she took my hair from Brassy to Classy :)!!!! I went to a beauty school to save a little money, I will not be doing that again, and they turned my hair yellow, gold, white , and green :(. Danielle fixed it up and now it looks and feels great she also help my cut I still have long hair but now it is easier to style and takes less time !!!!! ya!! I will be back! more

I've been going here for several years now. I use the same stylist always and never have a complaint about the cut and color delivered. In addition she gives facial massages along with washing your hair. During the cut and style you're offered wine to sip on. The space is bright and cheerful. I'm instantly greeted when I enter the door. The pedicure and manicure room is fabulous. I always leave feeling relaxed and pretty. I never feel rushed during the cut and if I need it tweaked once the cut is finished I'm always accomodated. Staff not actively providing a service utilize a breakroom in the basement of salon. I've never seen a cluster of personel gossiping or creating a disturbance as noted by another reviewer. Pros: Great atmosphere, skilled stylists, professional and accomodating Cons: Parking is sometimes limited as it's in a residential neighborhood. more

Seldom does one have the opportunity to relax, enjoy an adult beverage, and receive spa services in such a pleasant atmosphere. Natural light floods the large styling area of the salon as the nearly floor to ceiling, west-facing windows capture the sun year-round. That's a real treat during Minnesota winters. I've been there several times over the last two years for massage and hairstyling. I have NEVER received a hairstyle I wanted. I'd describe it, bring in pictures, and I would go home looking nothing like what I had asked for...most of the time not even close. The first stylist I went to was young, so I thought I'd give her a chance, I think she cut my hair three times, all of them fairly poor cuts. The second one I went to was a bit more experienced, but the cut she gave me was so wrong I had to go to Great Clips the same day and get it fixed (and I've gotten more compliments on the job Great Clips did than I've ever gotten before). I honestly think she didn't even listen to me when I told her what I wanted. The massage therapist was great (though she is not there anymore) but the salon is so noisy and the staff stand in the hallway outside the massage door and gossip and laugh that it takes away from the serenity the therapist was trying to create. At one point she stuffed towels under the door to try and block out the noise. The atmosphere of the salon is pretentious and phony. They no longer accept checks and when you use a credit card do not allow you to add the tip yourself. They ask you what the tip will be and write it in for you (which seems odd to me). If you are really looking for a friendly neighborhood salon...this is not the one. Great Clips was a much friendlier, and seemingly more competent, salon. I used to drive by this salon on my way to work, but didn't give it much thought. However, after I ran the Twin Cities Marathon for the first time I had a body so sore I couldn't stand to be in it. I remembered that they offered massages here and signed up for one. It was fabulous, I've had two more since then and cannot recommend Sherri enough! Last weekend (and I give you permission to laugh) I thought I could cut my own bangs. Big mistake. I called Riverstone to see if they could take me as a walk-in, and it was no problem. I was in the door 2 hours later. Melissa cut my hair and she did a great job. She listened to what I wanted she talked it through with me and then she did exactly what she said she would. Riverstone salon spa is a wonderful salon, down to earth and welcoming. The staff is well educated and up to date with the latest trends. I have been a client of Tami's for several years. The work she has done to accomplish an environment that is not uptight like many other salons is outstanding. I have taken advantage of every service she offers and have not been disappointed with any of them. From the time you walk in the door until you leave you are made to feel welcomed.
