I've been there several times over the last two years for massage and hairstyling. I have NEVER received a hairstyle I wanted. I'd describe it, bring in pictures, and I would go home looking nothing like what I had asked for...most of the time not even close. The first stylist I went to was young, so I thought I'd give her a chance, I think she cut my hair three times, all of them fairly poor cuts. The second one I went to was a bit more experienced, but the cut she gave me was so wrong I had to go to Great Clips the same day and get it fixed (and I've gotten more compliments on the job Great Clips did than I've ever gotten before). I honestly think she didn't even listen to me when I told her what I wanted. The massage therapist was great (though she is not there anymore) but the salon is so noisy and the staff stand in the hallway outside the massage door and gossip and laugh that it takes away from the serenity the therapist was trying to create. At one point she stuffed towels under the door to try and block out the noise. The atmosphere of the salon is pretentious and phony. They no longer accept checks and when you use a credit card do not allow you to add the tip yourself. They ask you what the tip will be and write it in for you (which seems odd to me). If you are really looking for a friendly neighborhood salon...this is not the one. Great Clips was a much friendlier, and seemingly more competent, salon.
Pros: They play good music and have lots of natural light
Cons: Noisy, pretentious, incompetent.
