Movie in wrong category 1/23/2009

I went online and searched AMC movie theaters in Raleigh, NC. When it came up, the Movies at Brier Creek was listed as a AMC movie theater. I had received a gift certificate for Christmas. When I got to the theater, I discovered that it was a Regal Theater. The web site is very MISLEADING. Good thing that I was prepared to pay for the movie. The theater was ok. Movie theater space was small. The seat were very comfortable. You should take Movies at Brier Creek off of the AMC Theaters. more

Not nearly what it could be... 8/11/2008

As an avid movie fan I believe that the movie going experience should be more than just shelling out $30 for 2 tickets and snacks (anyone else remember when it was half that?) and sitting through the film. The Movies at Briar Creek fails in this respect, but only because the place was poorly planned.\r \r There is never enough parking. It shares it's lot with the shopping village around it, thus there are rarely enough spots. The concessions are never adequately staffed - one must often wait an additional 20 minutes to get concessions, and that doesn't work if you're in a hurry. The staff is marginally friendly - but what do I expect from kids barely beating minimum wage? Perhaps my biggest issue with the theater is that you cannot purchase tickets online for their shows.\r \r On the plus side, the theater management does a good job of maintaining cleanliness in both the theaters and the restrooms, and there is a nice birthday room for children's parties. The lobby is broad and spacious, and allows for multiple film lines to back up with plenty of room. The concessions themselves are OK - nothing spectacular, but then they're not trying to be.\r \r My advice - if you have children, this is a great atmosphere. The teenagers avoid it because of the 18+ age restriction on R films, and there's generally a nicer crowd of people in and around Briar Creek. If you're looking for a date movie spot, this is also a decent place, although I would recommend the fun of the Raleighwood myself.\r Pros: Children's party room, spacious interior and seating Cons: Parking woes, no online ticketing more

poor customer service, bad concessions, lousy parking 7/28/2008

This actually used to be a pretty decent theater when it first opened up, but recently it seems to have gone drastically downhill. Ever since adopting their new policy that R rated movies are 18+ (despite the fact that everywhere else has the age minimum as 17), I've been carded more times at this movie theater than I have going into clubs. And you know what, I'm a pretty understanding person, and under most circumstances wouldn't mind flashing my ID if asked politely but it seems like each time I go the ticket person has gotten progressively more disrespectful. Other than that the concessions are pretty horrendous (even by movie theater standards) and i've yet to meet a kind person who worked there. Raleigh offers a lot of great movie theaters and so I would rather take my business elsewhere. more

Lovely 6/27/2008

It was a really nice theater, the restrooms were clean, the employees were kind and I enjoyed the movie. All in all, I had a wonderful experience. more

Good movie experience, but that's about it 6/8/2007

I first tried out this theater when it first opened up. It was great because it seemed we were the only people to know about it! It seems a lot more people know about it but it is never as crowded as the movies at Cary Crossroads. The concessions are so-so. What I really dislike about this theater is they have a church using half of the theaters on Sundays. Well, that I wouldn't mind as much but 1) parking is then scarce during a time when it shouldn't be 2) they actually have greeters from the church come out and talk to you (not something I should encounter when attempting to watch a MOVIE).\r \r Once you enter the stadium, it's nice. There isn't a bad seat in the entire place. It is too bad the auditorium, parking and concessions are such a problem because otherwise I'd rate this theater MUCH higher than I have. Pros: No crowds, great stadium seating Cons: parking, concessions, atmosphere more

Not impressed drive to Smithfield to Howell Theater 7/28/2006

It is an okay theater the theaters are very small hold about 88 to 96 patrons which makes the stadium screen very small. I had much rather go to Smithfield and see a movie at Howell Theater on Third Street Smithfield. The Stadium style seating there is small but has alot of old fashion appeal. With the best popcorn in the business. Not to meantion the down home friendly folks that run it. \r I was not impressed past the front door of the of the lobby. \r Pros: Great hand dryers in restroom. Cons: Temp was way to cool more

Pretty average theater with lousy concessions 3/29/2006

Brier Creek measures up to other movie theaters in this area in most aspects, but I will bypass this theater every time for two reasons -- the parking situation is lousy, with half of the available spaces across an interior road which people drive along at up to 40mph; and the concessions are awful. The hotdogs are awful, the popcorn tastes stale even when it's just been made, their toppings, which are powdered, make my stomach turn, and although they serve Coke products now there are not a wide variety of drinks, and no Icees like most other theaters in the area offer. Not worth the price. Pros: stadium seating, convenient location Cons: inefficient parking, awful concessions, crowded more

Less Teens and great seats!! 6/2/2005

Next to the AMC at Downtown Disney in Orlando, this is the best movie theater I have ever been to. If you are tired of teenagers surrounding you, check this place out. The lobby is smaller then some of the other theaters out there (SOUTHPOINT AMC), but that gives it a private theater feel. The best part is that is not a lousy seat in the house. They took the first few rows out so no more sitting directly in front of the screen. If they ever bring back Ice Cream I won't go anywhere else to see a movie. more

Economy Atmosphere at Full Price 4/27/2005

I've seen several films at Movies at Brier Creek, and each time I remember why it's my least favorite theatre in the Triangle Area: the lobby and auditoriums remind me of an aging, average high school. The scary thing is that this is one of the newest theatres in the area. Even the other Eastern Federal theatre in Chapel Hill is nicer, and by-far MUCH older. It's hard to describe, but it seems stark. I like the more plush surroundings of the Consolidated theatres just down the road in three directions. Cons: stark, cement, concrete more

Why Bother? Much Better Theatres Abound 4/26/2005

I had high hopes for this theatre, but after three visits, they have struck out. The complex seems cheaply made, and they serve Pepsi products. As if that wasn't bad enough, their managers and staff are inattentive and discourteous at best. I'll never pay to see a film here again... especially when there are nice theatres a couple of miles in either direction. Pros: Free Movies more

WOW!!! 2/26/2004

LOVE the theater! We (my family) drive the hour-long drive just to visit this theater. Everthing is so comfortable, the restrooms are clean, they even allow YOU to add the butter to your popcorn yourself! :D Pros: Comfortable chairs!, Clean theater, Inexpensive more

nice change 1/28/2004

people working there are willing to help, theater is clean, movie selection is great. I would definitely return! Pros: clean, movie selection, employees more

Wow! 6/27/2003

The service was fast and accurate. Everyone wanted to help, the concession area was clean, the whole theatre was clean. The popcorn was fresh unlike some other movie theatre's close by. Thank you for a great experience! Pros: Hot popcorn, Reclining seats, Clean!! more

Small and stuffy 6/14/2003

I though the theatre was small the seats were not comfortable. Also, it seems to be cheaply build. Men's bathroom is small and everything looks cheap throughout the theatre. Good movie selections, but that's it. more
