finger lickin good 9/5/2009

we got the rib plate which fell right off the bone and two sides, the 1 meat plate got two links of spicy sausage that had great flavor and a ceasar salad with pulled chicken that they pull off the bone in front of us. and for dessert a generous bowl of banana pudding that was rich and full of flavor. my family and I had a fantastic evening out. we also enjoyed the live band for a reasonable price. i hope you at least try it. its well worth it. more

Some people are never happy 5/8/2009

Having been to the Red Barn many times, I have never had a bad meal or pour service. People like Otis are never happy. It was his mistake and he wanted Red Barn to make it right! Too bad he will never go back. I cannot wait until the New Red Barn opens. Best BBQ I have ever had!!! more

I am an employee at red barn Bar B Que and I know for a fact that there was more to that story with the customer who forgot their order. First off, we have outstanding customer service. I don't know one single person I work with who has ever been anything less than wonderful nice to a customer! Second, they forgot their food, not us! We lost money while waiting on a customer with a huge order who never showed up. And third, when Mary spoke to this customer over the phone after this inccident not only was the customer rude right off the bat, but she acted as though she wasn't going to take any responsibility at all, and she just assumed it was our job to remind her she had an order. We have great customers who come in almost sometimes 3 times a weeks and are very very good to us. We get very busy sometimes especially on Saturday nights! If this specific customer came in as often as they claimed to have, then they would know this and they wouldn't have treated us with this disrespect and then post it on the internet. If I were them I would be horribly embarrassed! more

great bbq and real friendly! 7/9/2007

I have been a customer of Red Barn since it opened a little over a year ago. My family and I have had nothing but GREAT food and friendly service, in fact on several visits the owner has offered my kids his famous banana pudding and would not accept any money. This place is the real deal for BBQ !!! more

Mr. & Mrs. Dominy 7/9/2007

Having lived in Colleyville for the last thirty years and knowing this location when it was a saddle shop, we have watch the Red Barn Bar B Que grow from the first day it opened. We have also eaten there, often, since day one. We have found it to be one of the finest places to eat in Colleyville or the metroplex for that matter. As for Mr. Husbands and his staff, we have watched them go out of thier way for their customers. I read the last review and I must say if you made an order and "forgot it' then in the business world--that is your loss. I would have never expected anyone to reimburse me anything on a FOOD order that I had "forgotten" ! The fact that Mr. Husbands gave you half of your money back should tell you what kind of man he is and his staff is. If I were to have to guess and the truth were known, knowing the Red Barn Bar B Que and its excellent staff, I would have to say there is more to this story than the person that wrote that review is telling. The fact that they would even think about asking for a refund on an order that is custom would tell me they are not very professional or just doesn't know anything about business. When you make a custom FOOD order it is YOUR responsibility to pick it up, not the resturants-- any resturant! Being a business person I would have to say-- I have dealt with people like the person that wrote that review and they are not nice to have to deal with. The Red Barn Bar B Que has excellent food and a very friendly staff. We would highly recommend it!! I would give it and the staff 10 stars! Oh yes the banana pudding is outstanding too. Thank you, From an Old timer in Colleyville more

Good food Poor customer service 7/9/2007

My family and I frequented Red Barn BBQ at least once a week for the last six months. I've catered two events and bought many gift certificates from the restaurant as well. I overlooked Mr. Husband's (the owner) unfriendly demeanor and gruff tone with his staff, and sometimes his customers, until this past week. After placing a catering order for a Sunday party, I realized at midnight on Saturday that I had forgotten to pick up the food. Although I do not expect Mr. Husbands' to babysit his customers, a call to remind me the food was waiting for pick up would have been a tremendous help. When I went to talk to Mr. Husbands about the incident the next Monday, I was met by a very unfriendly employee (Mary Brothers) who coldly informed me that the restaurant does not offer any credit on forgotten catering orders. While trying to discuss the matter with Mr. Husbands over the phone, I was yelled at and informed that he cannot possibly call his customers to remind them to pick up orders because he is too busy. No one has ever forgotten an order and he was not going to be "the loser" on this deal while I was "the winner". I was speechless... I did not expect a full refund, simply an amicable way to resolve the situation. Getting yelled at and talked down to as a customer was the last thing I expected. We did manage to work out a restaurant credit for 50% of the order. I am donating the gift certificates as I do not plan to visit Mr. Husbands' establishment again. more

A real good bbq house! 9/24/2006

This place is amazingly great! I found it's only been open since last OCT. (It was a saddle/leather shop for years. Sadly, there are no ranches around anymore). But the good news is that there is now a "local to me" bbq house that is worthy of calling itself bbq! I had the sliced brisket and the portion served had to have been a pound of meat. Same with the pulled pork that my companion ordered. The beef was trimmed (as I watched) of all excess fat, but altho very flavorful, was a little on the dry side -- still good tho . The pork was the "softest" and tastiest I've ever had and almost would melt in your mouth. I heard a diner at a table next to me talking about how moist the chicken was. Might have to give that a try the next time...... There were about 7 - 8 sides. All looked good. We had slaw, fried okra and corn on the cob. The cotc was very good, but the other 2 lacked much flavor -- odd for cole slaw to have no taste. I'd read somewhere else that they offer 2 free beers/diner/meal, as they don't have their license, however, on this Sat. they were out. But it is BYOB, so if you like beer w/your bbq, don't forget it at the house! Their puddin' is supposed to be drop dead good, but given their meal portions (and plenty to take home for sandwiches later), neither of us had room. I'll most go back and back and back...... more

Best Texas Bar-B-Que 7/22/2006

My wife and I love this place. The tastiest pulled pork you have ever put your lips to and the best baby backs around. Every Monday night it's all the ribs you can eat. They offer two sauces, a spicy Texas sauce and a sweet BBQ sauce as well. This is the only place we go to for Bar-B-Que now. Save some room for desert as their home made banana pudding is to die for. more
