We expected a lot from Reata, especially from their grilled meats. The buffalo tenderloin was done perfectly and was one of the best steaks I have ever had. My wife ordered the ...

The Best in Fort Worth 1/17/2007

Located in the old Caravan of Dreams building, Reata Restaurant offers upscale Texian food: steaks. They have chicken and seafood, too, but forget all of that. Start with the been tenderloin tamales with pecan mash - they are nearly a meal. Then, go for one of the prime aged beef steaks - medium rare, the way Texans eat it. Great service, ambiance and wonderful food. It's a bit pricy so save up first. more

Good Downtown Restaurant 10/21/2006

Last night my wife and I went before we went to the Ballet. We enjoyed our meal on the fourth floor of Reata. I had a NY strip steak and my wife had angel hair pasta with stuffed chicken. The food was good;not great. The atmosphere and plating of the dishes is very nice. The problem I had was the waitresses were very casual. I just expected them to be a little more formal for a good place. This wasn't fine dining but it was pretty good. more

I wouldn't know 5/24/2006

Just had dinner with a large group (24) but I did not eat because I was never asked or served anything to drink-even water. Our waiter came and went so fast that I could not track him down to even ask for a drink. I do not understand why when he picked up my plate, that he did not ask why it wasn't touched. To top it off, he placed the dessert between myself and another person but did not leave any utensil to eat it with. I do not expect such poor service at any restaurant. When I asked to speak with the general manager, I was told that he was not there tonight. I will strongly encourage my group to never dine there again. more

Classy and Excellent 3/29/2006

We had a Bridesmaid's Luncheon at Reata, and the servers were unbelievably wonderful, and the food was even better! It is very "Texas" in all that is served. We enjoyed every ounce of it. The jalepeno soup is my favorite. more

Never a bad meal at the Reata 8/7/2005

Everytime I've eaten at the Reata, the food has been spectacular and the service perfect. The desserts are my favorite part, try the pecan dessert. It's amazing. The tortilla soup is also wonderful, as are the pork tenderloin tamales. Dress up a little. This is a great locally owned business. Supporting locally owned businesses is always important to keep the local economy running strong! more

Texas "cuisine" 7/26/2005

Reata specializes in high-end Texas-style "cuisine." That means a lot of meat and jalapenos, I guess. But Reata is perfect for a special occasion, and the food is delicious. It's rather expensive for dinner, but the style and great service make it worthwhile. And for lunch, it's on par with a place like Chili's as far as price is concerned. And if I'm going to pay $8 for a burger, I'd much rather have a "gourmet" burger from Reata. more
