I think if they had pictures, it would make it a little easier to understand the menu, lol. But seriously though, the food there was amazing. I went there in March with a group ...

simply amazing expereince 11/21/2008

Simply amazing experience. Lovely setting, ambitous food, gracious service. Puts so many other restaurants to shame. If you are able to splurge, go. It will re-set your thinking of what a "fancy" restaurant should be. more

Great vibe and very good food 10/1/2008

I love this place as the food is very good and the vibe is energetic and the decor is cool. It's definitely great to dine at the bar as the bartenders are friendly. I have one complaint and I hope management reads this. The margarita is $16 and they only fill the glass half way.....that drives me crazy. My girlfriend and I had two drinks each and with tip it was $75. That's just too much for drinks and the reason was the already extraordinary price of $16 and having to order two because they are so small. Pros: Decor, vibe, food Cons: Drinks too expensive and they don't fill the glass past half way. more

Best Food in NYC!!! 9/11/2008

This place is great and addicting! If it wasn't for the price, we'd be coming everynight. The food is delicious. The seafood paella is to die for and so is the Churrasco con Camarones. Everthing that i've ever tasted in this place is absolutely finger-licking good!!!! Their sangria is tasty but my favorite is the Vodka drink. I've never tasted anything like it. I've been there at least 5 times for dinner and once for brunch (BEST CORN BREAD). the service is top notch and and let me not forget to mention the ambiance, which is romantic and relaxed. You totally feel as if you are out of NYC. I love and adore this place! Also try Macondo, their sister restaurant. Amazing tapas and drinks! hope you all enjoy it! Pros: food, ambiance, service more

Worst service ever. ever. 8/25/2008

Worst service ever. Ever. Waitress tried to push items heavily- not just "would you like another pitcher of sangria- more like "You'd better order another pitcher- or else." group of 6, bill was $800 dollars. NOT worth the price. Waitress gave the WORST attitude ever. Plates were taken up mid-bite so that they could cram another table in before closing. They didn't even offer to wrap it. We ended up paying too much- go elsewhere! Pros: new, interesting use of tree Cons: service, price, service, price, service. more

Go with time 7/11/2008

True to their Latin American culture, the staff at Rayuela take their time. We waited to be seated (even with a reservation), we waited for our order to be taken, we waited for drinks, food, and the check. Basically, too much waiting involved. The food is delicious though, and if you decide to go, try their ceviches. more

immoral staff 6/27/2008

Good food, however the service staff and management are immoral, including acts of theft and lying. And don't even bother talking to management about the theft, they insist they will get back to you and do not return telephone calls or e-mails. Watch your purse, anything you bring you may not leave with. Pros: Good Food Cons: Theft cost more than the food for the entire party. more

One of my favorite restaurants!!!!!!!!! 5/13/2008

Love the food, drinks atmosphere and decor. The downstairs is great for a casual get together. the upstairs is more sit down - but the menu is the same downstairs and upstairs. The waiters, bartenders & staff are very friendly. You can relax and have a great time with your friends here while enjoying great food and drinks. I 100% recommend this place. Pros: Paella Monday nights, Great atmosphere, Great drinks, Amazing food, Great Crowd, Great Brunch Cons: Make reservations as the place fills up fast more

Wow !!! 5/12/2008

I'v been in Rayuela at least 3 or 4 times and is always a great yet different experience but this past weekend (saturday night) made the difference, me and a group of 6 friends came around 8:30, "no reservation" oops!!! and our host Aaron gracefully asked us to wait at the bar for about 30 minutes. The bar was packed and we were still able to order those genious cocktails and a great guac mixed with seafood.... "delish" about 9:15 the bartender alert us about our table( we lost track of time...so much fun) on the second floor where we had once again one of the best meals this city can offer, from the ceviche bar to the daily specials and our waiter made us feel taken care of, we could have use some more of those tasty rolls they serve but instead we opted for dessert..... THANK GOD!!! we did, every bite resembled the flavors of the latin culture but with a twist, i guess that's what they call Estilo Libre (free style). TWO thumbs up!!!!! Pros: Good looking people Always more

horrible 5/11/2008

Con(s): Long wait to be seated even with reservations. Long wait for the server to take our orders. Long wait for the food to arrive to our table esp. the entree. Service is awful even the manager was rude. Entree are bland. Dessert is terrible! Pro(s): Drinks are great! Ceviche are good. Atmosphere is nice. I do not recommend this place but if you just want drinks and ceviches those are the only things i recommend. And if you do not mind waiting for more than an hour to be seated even when you are on time and have reservations! more

Sundays at Rayuela 5/9/2008

I went to Rayuela on Sunda for brunch And OMG! they actually infuse the vodka with pepers, when I thought that the drinks were the good thinks then it came the food, OMG,OMG,OMG,OMG i was moaning the entire time. oh and I almost forgot my friend had the guanabana mimosa that I used to have only at home in Colombia, and after 8 years i can only find it at Rayuela. By the way the have a REAL tree right in the middle of the restaurant. All I' ve got to say is GO THERE! Pros: drinks, ambience Cons: they are not open for lunch more

great time at rayuela 5/9/2008

I was just there last week and my date is foodie, which made a little nervous cuz it was my first time at Rayuela. As soon as we got there we were greeted so well by the host. WE had a few drinks at the bar while waiting for the table, and believe me you want to drink at the bar. The drinks are amazing, specially the rising Star which has a real "star fruit." We shared the oyster platter and WOW that was extremely amazing. Then for entree we had the red snapper and the churrasco, truly exceptional. For dessert we shared the banana tre leches which was so juicy and a perfect touch to end my night. At the end we I was I got so many thanks for choosing the right place to eat. The night I went there, the main actor for Narnia was having a birthday bash with 30 of his friends. The place is very well designed to accommodate big big parties. I am definitely talking to the events coordinator to plan my birthday there. Pros: big space for parties, beautiful crowed Cons: the kitchen closes early( at 12am on the weekends) more
