I think if they had pictures, it would make it a little easier to understand the menu, lol. But seriously though, the food there was amazing. I went there in March with a group ...

Everything but the food here is great. The restaurant is gorgeous. The staff was warm, professional, and accommodating. I made reservations and I was an hour late and they were s...

Phenomenal Food! 3/9/2008

Beautiful restaurant with delicious Latin cuisine and attentive staff. Classic dishes like paella, churrasco are exquisitely prepared and the ceviches are just sensational! A great addition to the LES. Don't forget the amazing drinks! Pros: Beautiful Setting, Delicious Food, Knowledgable Staff Cons: Crowded and Noisy on Weekends more

Great food combos 1/25/2008

Loved the spin that they put on having tons of ceviche options and great fish dishes. Definitley well recommended. Any night of the week. A good mix of not too stuffy, but also don't feel like I am eating a good meal in a barn. Perfect LES without being scuzzy with really great food! Nice decor all around. Good for groups. Pros: groups, ambience, locale more

Great Dining Experience 1/16/2008

I am not so familiar with Latin Cuisine, but I came here and was quickly educated. The staff was extremely helpful and the food was phenomenal. If you are looking for a great place to eat with a super atmosphere, come to Rayuela! Pros: Staff, Food more

Delicacy and duende at Rayuela 1/3/2008

Maximo Tejada's artful pan-Latino cuisine finds a perfect match in Jun Aizaki's mystico-natural setting, with its play on grids (the restaurant's name means "hopscotch"). Geometrically niched candles provide a romantic glow, flowing muslin dividers just enough visual privacy (though stereo and neighbor noise can be a problem). All is forgotten once the servers start unobtrusively dropping off little dazzlers: nine variations on ceviche (viva la "Langosta Revolucion"!). We were only sorry that, only being two, we could only try two entrees, both -- the duck (with confit, foie, and an arepa as juicy cushion) and rack of lamb -- hearty winners. LES is a trek from where we sit, but we can't wait to go back. more

Very tasty.... 1/3/2008

Each item we had was flavorful, the bartender recommended some unique drinks and we had a really nice time. I went early in the week...it's a cool place so I could see it getting mobbed on the weekends. Also, bring your wallet. Pros: Very tasty food, nice variety, cool atmosphere Cons: a little pricey but not prohibitive more

Disappointing 11/26/2007

1. The wait for tables is an eternity 2. It is incredibly loud and you will have a hard time hearing someone sitting right next to you 3. The food is not much better than a run-of-the-mill Mexican joint 4. You will leave feeling ripped off 5. This place is nothing but hype 6. Awful choice for a date 7. Oh, but guess what? The $15 drinks are delicious more

Magnifico! 11/19/2007

I went here for my birthday dinner then met up with friends for drinks afterward. Everything was amazing...the food, the drinks and the most of all the service. After dinner we went upstairs to the outdoor patio almost til closing time! I would definitely recommend to friends and go there again myself. Pros: Great food and drinks, prompt service more

Really good S.American cuisine 11/18/2007

Stumbled upon this place by accident, but was very happily suprised by the experience.. the decor of the dining room is trendy and clean with a very cool bar area as well. The menu comprising pan-south american cuisine is delicious and innovative. The service was quick and attentive. Very good experience over all. Pros: Very cool decor and food, good selection of s.american wine & beer as well Cons: a little pricey for the neighborhood more

A Disappointment 11/18/2007

The food is decent and the space is nice. However, the management is bad and the service is not prepared for the crowds that settle here on busy nights. This is the kind of place where you wait two hours for a table, another hour for your food, and leave feeling ripped off. Additionally, this is not a good date place. The acoustics are bad and it's very hard to hear someone sitting right next to you. Pros: Decent food, nice space Cons: Atrocious management more

A MUst 10/22/2007

Phenomenal food. Great ambience. Okay service. Service was a little slow--didn't really keep the drinks flowing. Great cocktail list. Wine's by the glass only okay. But the food was spectacular. Will go back, for sure. Pros: Food, ambience Cons: unattentive service more

beautiful space, great food 10/1/2007

Went here this past Saturday, beautiful space, although I found it a little cramped. Tables downstairs by the bar seemed very uncomfortable because there were lots of people standing by the bar. We had our table upstairs, the food was really good, I had the churrasco con cangrejo, yum! The only problem was the service was really slow, had to ask a few times for bread and waited a long time for the check. Also, I don?t really like mojitos, but the one I had here was really, really good. Pros: ambience, food Cons: slow service, parking more

Fabulous Staff and Service. Great Drinks and Incredible Food! Unpretencious but Hip Atmosphere. 9/30/2007

It's hard to find a great dining experience that's equally amazing in food, drinks, atmosphere and service. Most establishments on the Lower East Side are so concerned with portraying their venues as "hip" they comprimise on food and service. Great for dates on weeknights, and large groups on weekends. I've been back at least a handful of times and the experience has not differed. I even went there for sunday Brunch and it was relaxing and just wonderful. (Must try their special Bloody Mary!) The managers are active on the scene and are actually concerned with each patron's dining experience. Fabulous Fabulous and Fabulous! Pros: Service, Food and Drinks. Cons: Can get crowded Thur-Sat Nights. Make Reservations. more
