My husband and I heard about this place from a friend. I was so excited to think I was actually going to get Italian food in Tx. Well this was the sorriest excuse for Italian food...

A Hidden Treasure 2/19/2012

Hidden on a side street by the railroad tracks is a gem of a resturant. The service is great, wine list lengthy, food is to die for. This quaint resturant has an old world ambiance, dimly lit, romantic, very small and intimate. The food is fantastic, service at its best, with a menu that can satisfy anyone. The veal is surberb, the seafood, fantastic. Although a little pricy, not really kid friendly, it is an amazing place to take your girl or wife for that special date. more

Railroad Cafe 9/24/2010

I really wanted to write that it was a great experience. Unfortunately, I was fairly disappointed. My wife and I went on a Fri Eve in Sept. There are 10 tables in the small dining area (think Railroad Pullman Car). Only 4 tables were occupied the evening that we were there. We were dressed for dinner---too bad the rest of the patrons wore blue jeans. There was no wine list available. We took a shot and got the house selection---Da Vinci Chianti at $40.00 a bottle. The food was----ok. Nothing to brag about, not bad, not great. In all honesty, Italiano's Restaurant was as good or better and at 1/2 the price. The servers, 2 young guys, were very eager to please but ""Not ready for Prime Time""---maybe Olive Garden but not at a ""fine dining"" restaurant. All in all, it was not a memorable evening. We won't return and I think that is probably the general concensus. They really need to fix a lot things----not the least of which is their entrance---if they want to succeed. We'll go to Chez Nous next time we want to have a fine dining experience in Humble. My bill, incl. tax and tip, was $150.00 for two. I don't mind paying that but it sure seemed like we should have gotten a lot more for our money. more

Romantic and Quaint 5/20/2010

My husband and I went to Railroad cafe for date night and were pleasantly surprised at the inside. The outside is a bit misleading but that was ok since we had read reviews before hand. The waitstaff were very polite and accomodating. We enjoyed the bread and our entrees. The food was very tasty but we felt it was maybe a little overpriced. We ordered 3 glasses of wine, a salad, and two entrees and payed around $100 including the tip. We enjoyed our evening and we walked away full and satisfied with our experience! I would recommend it to others. Pros: Intimate Atmosphere, Tasty Food Cons: Slightly Overpriced more

I'm in love! 4/21/2009

My husband has a severe seafood allergy and they were so attentive he had no symptoms! I made reservations on a monday night and (out of the 8 tables) we took up a third of the restaurant. We had incredible customer service and great wine. They do not have sodas but told my husband they would gladly send someone out to buy him a sprite if he wanted one. The Chicken Limone was incredible and the ambiance made me feel like the most special woman in the world. It is a little oasis of tranquility, even with my 9 month old daughter with us. Pros: location, small, family-owned, customer service Cons: small groups only, no high chairs more

great food in an intimate atmosphere 7/23/2008

This restaurant is hidden away along the old railroad tracks at the heart of Main Street Humble. You would drive past it without noticing it was even there if you weren't specifically looking for it (and maybe, even if you were!). It appears to be an old railroad car/trailer converted into a dining room that can seat 20 people MAX. This is what makes it seem like you have found a private, hidden hideaway where the service is quite charming, the wine selection is fantastic, and the food is amazing. The lighting is dim and the italian music in the background very romantic. What a wonderful atmosphere for a romantic dinner out with someone special or a night out with good friends. I am only telling others about this place because I think the owners and staff deserve to have a very lucrative business, as they do such a good job to make sure that you leave with memories of a quaint and remarkable experience. Otherwise, I would keep this as my very own secret place for a romantic rendez-vous. Try the half chicken baked with garlic cloves, bacon, and mushrooms or the pork chops; the pasta dishes are also delicious - you can't go wrong with anything on the menu Pros: Quiet, great atmosphere, interesting artwork Cons: small: you might not get a table without reservations on a Fri or Sat night more

Fantastic Cannolis! 8/28/2007

This is a great restaurant hidden in Humble! \r The food is top notch - I loved the desserts, but the main courses are wonderful as well. The restaurant is small, so the staff is able to pay special attention to your order. My date ordered a dish with significant modifications and got just what he ordered. \r The waitresses and owners are friendly and pleasant. They stopped by our table to say hello, but didn't impose. These guys seem to have it figured out just right!\r The dining area is cozy and the tables are small. This is a romantic setting; not kid friendly, and is probably better for smaller groups unless you specifically set up a private event. Pros: Food, Service Cons: Location, a bit pricey for a regular meal more

Hidden Gem 8/22/2005

This is a great little romantic restraunt in the heart of Humble. If you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right past it, as I've done in the past. The food is very good and the ambiance is charming. The menu is extensive with everything from lasagna to roast duck to osso bucco. But the dining room is very small (9-10 tables) and the tables only seat four max and it is a little pricey. Not a place to take the kids, but a great place for a romantic anniversary or birthday. Pros: Ambiance, Flavor Cons: Price more
