we bought out Maltese 8 years ago from Puppy Petite and are so happy. She is such a beautiful dog and remember the shop which was very crowded when we arrived but the staff took ...

I am so horrified reading all these reviews. We were going to go in there this week to buy a yorkie for my daughter and glad I've done my research before I made a fatal mistake. I...

Got my Maltese there, super happy! 10/31/2009

Want to know what's special about Puppy Petite? After searching for 2 years for a Maltese puppy that would be only 4 lbs fully grown, I finally found my baby at Puppy Petite. She is adorable! She is really happy, plays with us all day long, very alert, and totally fun! There is a puppy for everyone here, and the Maltese puppies start at only $500. What more can you ask for? Pros: Clean store, clean & healthy puppies, beautiful choices Cons: Brooklyn was a bit far for me more

Friendly service, Quality puppies, best prices in town 10/31/2009

If you are looking for a purebred Yorkie, Maltese, Shihtzu, or Chihuahua puppy, I would highly recommend Puppy Petite. I saw all of their puppies in person and found them to be all in great health, the store was clean, and the employees were knowledgeable about all the breeds. I was looking for a teacup Yorkie, and they had just what I was looking for. The pricing for a tiny puppy was much better than some of the other places I looked. The other shops had much larger dogs - which I wasn't interested in. No problems at all with the purchase. Pros: Tiny purebred puppies available at the best prices in town Cons: Small location more

I bought my yorkie There over this Past summer, My parents bought Their Maltese back in 2001 from them also. We are truly pleased with the service and the puppies are kept clean and the store itself is also immaculate. the prices are very reasonable also. Pros: nice selection of toy breeds- freindly staff more

The prices are fair compared to the local stores/breeders and They dont preasure you in any way. and the puppies are clean and well cared for. I will be back in the future when we get a bigger house Pros: nice selection of yorkies more

Very Sketchy and questionable 2/7/2009

Only because I'm absolutely in love with my little one am I giving PuppyPetite 3 stars...\r \r I researched for a Teacup/Toy Maltese before contacting puppy petite. When they quoted the prices over the phone it seemed like they are more reasonable than some of the puppy boutiques in Manhattan like ""Pets on Lex"". \r I went over to the PuppyPetite store in Brooklyn and was amazed to see the setup...very sketchy, with dog cages around the walls and a small counter to pay for them. Had it not been crowded with other people I would have almost immediately left.\r Then I picked up the 1st Maltese puppy and fell head-over-heels....the prices fluctuate between these puppies based on their size or so I was told. I got mine for $1200+ $100 (tax)......Offcourse now I think he's worth every dollar but at that time I really felt cheated because they'd said that the toys range from $580 to $900 (mine's a toy) and teacups begin from $700.\r I looked-up my dog's breeder all the way in MN and found out that the registration # belongs to a different breeder when my puppy was bred by someone else...apparently a family friend of the breeder whose registration# is on the papers....very very questionable.\r \r more

Good and Bad 2/5/2009

I got my chihuahua from puppy petite they told me that they get their dogs in on Thursdays. I went there and it was packed not being a big place, it was tight. The only reason I was convinced this place was good was because I know many friends that got dogs there and never had any problems with them. They told me the tea cup Chihuahua was only $500 once I got there the price changed and with tax and everything included it was over $950. Never once has my dog been sick or has had any problems. Perfect temperment and very friendly. On the papers they gave me I looked up the ""breeder"" to confirm it was not a puppy mill. The man did have a license but, it has now expired. A friend of mine called recently to ask about their puppies and the man said his wife is the breeder. I would look into it more

DISHONEST BUSINESS OPERATING UNDER SEVERAL NAMES 4/24/2008

This store should be put out of business. The one year guarantee they advertise is absurd. I traveled all the way to NYC to pick up a puppy that I thought would be the same one that Puppy Petite emailed me a picture of. It wasn't, however I purchased him anyway. Before traveling to NYC, the owner emailed me and told me the prices for their ""teacup yorkies"" were between $500-$1500; however, they were realistically between $1000-$2500. I purchased my baby for $1600...only for him to die 2 weeks later due to congenital problems. \r \r When my puppy initially got sick I took him to the vet and was told he'd have to be hospitalized. I immediately called Puppy Petite to see how they wanted to handle paying for his hospital bill because in their ""guarantee"" they state that they'll cover all medical expenses if it's due to congenital disorder. Puppy Petite told me that they would not reimburse me unless I took the puppy to one of their vets in NYC. Can you believe they wanted me to bring my puppy 400+ miles to NYC in order for them to cover the vet expenses? My vet estimated the costs to be $2000+ dollars and there was no guarantee that my puppy would survive. Due to the high costs, I chose to have my puppy stabilized and transported to NYC with an IV to Puppy Petite?s vet so they could cover the costs. My puppy eventually died due to a congenital disorder and Puppy Petite refused to give me a new puppy or a full refund for the purchase price. I'm still trying to battle with them to receive a refund. \r \r Please do not purchase from this pet store, they have negative ratings from Consumer Reports and have changed their business name a couple of times to stay in business. They are also known as Puppy Boutique.\r Cons: Dishonest business and false advertise. more

a bit weary 10/17/2007

After searching long and hard for a GOOD breeder, with caring quailities and concern about the puppys they are selling, i came up empty. Many of times people say dont purchase from pet shops but finding a legitimate breeder isnt the easiest task. None the less i got my Yorkie from Puppy Petite. after doing my research instantly i didnt like the style of the shop. very small quaters. the dogs are in big cages all along the walls, and lasty the dam nor sire are on premisis. all indiciating they got their puppys from ""somewhere else"" aka puppy mills. non the less i fell in love with my yorkie on site and purchased him. I will admit that they provide you with different anit~biotics and syrup for the small dogs. so this can be seen like a plus, but on the flip side makes u think do they know somethings already wrong with their dogs?\r long story short, my dog did have kennel cough when i first got him. he was unable to get the rest of his vaccinations till this cleared. he is in great health now and a very friendly pup. \r in a nut shell the bad things id have to say about these guys are the conditions in which they recieve their dogs. and the fact that my dog had kennel cough. also the prices are higher than what they state on the website. Pros: Easily accessible Cons: different price quotes, small area for dogs more
