This preschool is DEFINITELY not worth the money. The owners are in the business only to make money and don't care about the children. They claim to offer an entirely different curriculum but I rarely saw my child learning any of these things. It does not seem like the teachers are held accountable for the lessons they planned for the day. I highly doubt the teachers are qualified. Also, I just did not like how the front office ran the place. There were many times that I saw sick children at school because policies were never followed through. This meant that children were frequently spreading illnesses back and forth because they were never sent home like the front office claimed they would do. I know I can find another place A LOT cheaper where my child will be loved and cared for and given more opportunity to learn and grow. more

Our advice to prospective parents – don’t bother touring this school! You are not getting what you see! When we signed up, we were toured by Ms. Anna Bell. Then one day, she was let go and the parents here have no idea why. Rumor has it she was let go do to personal drug problems! We did not want to believe it but when we asked the director what happened, she would not provide an honest answer. We were there for two years and tolerated with the poor management and poor teachers. The only reason we were there for so long is because all the good schools in the area had a ridiculous long waiting list. We finally got into the best program in the area and were so happy to get out of this school. The office assistants are nice and do know my children by first name. However, it is sad that teachers and the director do not know state ratios (which they are running in some classrooms! We only find out later that some classrooms here run state ratio and not Primrose ratios, which should be lower. Also, don’t let the full school fool you for the quality of this school. The main reason is that this area lacks good care, but we are happy to finally get off the waitlist for one. more

WOW!!!!! 10/18/2011

I’m a first time proud mom to a two and a half year old. I must admit going back to work was very difficult and choosing a daycare was very important. Since I work near the area I shopped around and found Primrose of Eldridge, along with a few surrounding childcare centers. I took time off to make sure I made the right choice. My first stop was Primrose, and although I was SUPER impressed, I still decided to take a look at the other daycares. Nothing compared to the home like welcoming feeling I received when I first walked into Primrose. I, but most importantly my daughter was welcomed with open arms. She has learned so much and wakes up excited to see her classmates and teachers every morning. There have been times she has cried and asked me to stay a little longer at school. I never thought that would happen!!!!! Everyone in the school knows me and my daughter and everyone is more than happy to help if I ever need it. The teachers are awesome and have so much patience with all the kids, they have a HARD HARD Job and manage to care for the children and still have a smile from morning to night. This truly has made my day to day so much easier, they truly get all my highest recommendations and I can guarantee anyone its more than worth it. GREAT JOB TEACHERS STAFF AND DIRECTOR!!!!! more

Above and Beyond 10/18/2011

I had been looking for a child care center for my daughter for over 5 months and it has been 2 years since we enrolled at Primrose; and we could not ask for a better child care facility. I was about to give up when a friend suggested I take a look at Primrose. I scheduled a tour, and met with the director and met the teachers that would be interacting with my daughter. I was greeted with enthusiasm and everyone was very knowledgeable of their job and full of energy. Every day has been the same since then. Yes, I have missed a teacher here and there, but for the most part, my daughter has been able to go through the Early Preschool - Preschool and has gained lots of knowledge and with minimal turnover. The staff, as well as management, knows my child by name and greets us with a smile every day. I see the teachers go above and beyond the normal child care duties and I am VERY HAPPY AND I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL. more

Run for the Hills! 9/16/2011

I wanted to take the time to write this for any parents that may be looking for daycare or even had these problems in the past. When my maternity leave was over I decided to take my LO to the Primrose School of Eldridge Parkway. It was a 5 star school and seemed to have a decent reputation. Boy was I wrong! My son attended this school for 1 year and a quarter. In that short time: Food wasn’t even opened or offered to him on multiple occasions, but listed on his daily sheet as eaten. They listed on multiple occasions that breakfast was eaten but we never drop him off in time for breakfast! They tried to put my then 11 month old on a mat even though all the other children in his class got cribs. (And add that they were completely ignoring the safe sleep policy!) They threw their teachers under the bus for any mistakes or lied about them. Their “secure” door was broken for months (and still broken when I left) even though it left the school wide open (often times with no one in the front office.) They repeatedly made excuses saying they were going to fix it, but didn’t. No one ever communicated. Teachers were left in the dark, the school was unorganized (and messy!) and the parents were usually last to find out in regards to their children. And most of the time you’d hear different stories/ facts from different employees. When I brought these things up to the administration I was told: I am a first time mom and they know better, they are friends with their state rep- if there was an issue they’d just talk to her about it, and that they know how their school is run and have no inclination to change it. So we left. And we are VERY happy we did. Now I just want to put this out there so no other parents are duped by this school. I know not everyone will have this experience, but we did so you could too. more

Not Worth the Primrose Name 8/27/2011

I reviewed the other posts and they were posted some time ago. This school may have started off strong but it is now poorly run. The staff seems to run around with their head cut off. Sometimes, there are 4 staff members in the front greeting us, sometimes we walk in and nobody is in the front. Also, the director looks overworked since the assistant director was recently fired for drug use. The teachers are poor as well. They hardly complete the daily activity report and my child has had many "incidents" since she started school. If you were to read the teacher bios that they post in front of the classrooms, you will see that most only have 1-2 years experience. In addition, the teachers don’t seem to care about the children at all. They show absolutely no motherly love and treat this more as a job. For the prices I am paying, I am very disappointed in this Primrose as I know the brand is excellent but each location is run individually. I moved my little girl to another preschool after 4 months. We simply had enough! more

Finally a great pre-school found ! 7/26/2009

My son, age 5, was asked to leave 5 different pre-schools, by the tender age of 4. He is a "full of life" child and VERY loving, to say the least. With the deicated staff/teachers,set routine, structure of the school, learing centers, this has made my son have great self esteem and is making the :"grade". He has already learned so much in his short stay. I highly recommend this pre-school/childcare, as they are worth the money. You truly get what you pay for. After all, what better investment then your own child(ren). There has been turnbover, although I would think that was the natutre of the job. The teachers are very caring, always have a smile for you/child, and make sure to adivse you of all the good that your child is doing;not just the bad reports. Best regards, Anji Fesler PS: The director/assistant director are extreamly nice and caring. They will do what they can to accomodate you and your child Pros: Certified teahcers, learnooing centers, field trips, balance Cons: Too many refined carbohydrates at snack time, turn over more

Great daycare facility on Eldridge 8/20/2008

My daughter is 1 and has been at Primrose on Eldrige for 3 months. The teachers are so caring and loving and the administrators are very engaging and run a well oiled machine. Everyone there knows my daughter by name and the classrooms are big and colorful and there is a fun activity schedule. She's always happy to arrive and looks forward to each day there. Sometimes she doesn't want to leave. They have outdoor time, story time, language development, play time, etc. The school provides hot lunch and snacks and continental breakfast. They give suggestions in a respectful way and accomodate special foods and snacks brought by the parents. The grounds and the classrooms are impeccably clean. I recommend it highly. Pros: meals provided, open til 630pm, impeccably clean inside and out Cons: not a homey environment - more like a real school, they don't always notice a fever right away more
