Powerhouse Carpet Cleaning

In January 2012, I redeemed a Morgan?s Deal voucher for $45 for $90 worth of carpet cleaning. I was told over the phone that there would be an additional charge for tax and gas. After I gave them the voucher number and my credit card number, I agreed to this amount before the carpet cleaner arrived. After the work was done I realized they had parked their work truck in my driveway and it left oil in several spots. I asked them to come take care of the oil spill which they were only able to get some of it removed. A few days later I realized I was charged $104.93 on my credit card! They said my voucher had expired and because of this I would have to pay the full amount. So instead of paying $45 I ended up paying $149.93. I realize it was my mistake that the voucher had expired but I would have not had the work done had I known I would be charged an ADDITIONAL $104.93 not to mention the cost it will take to have the oil spill removed a second time. Future consumers need to be aware of their business practices. They shouldn?t be trusted with a credit card upfront payment and their carpet cleaning was not worth $150. There are several other companies around town that are trustworthy and responsible. This company is not one of them! more

Do not use this company they are crooked. Any of the good reviews have been written by the owners family or his employees. This is not a Christian company they use the fish logo to gain the Christian community. They do not give back to the community. They know their employees smoke pot while in route. They use dirty water they have old equipment, they stain your carpet, they advertise deals they do not honor and keep the money. They say they have organic ways but all they do use water and charge extra for the name. They do not have pet friendly chemicals and they say they do. If you ask what chemicals are used they send you to look it up on a website. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY USE ANOTHER LOCAL COMPANY DO NOT BE FOOLED! more

This business is not located at 10409 Thomaswood Lane, Austin, TX 78736. How do I know? I live at that address. I don't believe this business was ever located at this address, but I know it hasn't been for the last 6-7 years at least. I don't know why they'd want to use someone else's address, but seems fishy to me. I only gave them a star because it was required to post this, but having seen another review and knowing they are mis-representing their physical address, I'd be leery. Note: I just looked for more info on this business, and Yelp shows them to be located at 1116 Regal Row, Austin, TX 78748. Don't know if this address is real or not, but the 10409 Thomaswood addess is real BUT it doesn't belong to this business. more

They did not clean the carpets and hardly guaranteed their work. I would not recommend this company to clean your carpets. Your carpets will look better if you keep them away from them. more

Not only did the gasoline surcharge raise the price, but the carpet was left VERY wet. Stains appeared despite my efforts to dry the carpet quickly with fans. The carpet is now stiff and sticky as well as having orange-brown stains everywhere. Not only that, the carpet really isn't clean! Now, I will have to have someone else who really knows what they are doing clean the carpet AND the stains. The Powerhouse job was WORSE than throwing my money away. more

I have tried many carpet cleaning companies, but to my suprise, Powerhouse was the most knowledgeable and professional company I have ever dealt with. Jawad, the manager explained how the process worked,and what was most important regarding not just cleaning my carpet but also how to protect my investment now and in the future saving me thousands of dollars on replacement. My first experience with Powerhouse Carpet Cleaning was just a little over a year ago right before the Holidays. From the moment I called for general information, as I didn't have any idea of the Carpet Cleaning process, the Manager (Jawad) talked me through the process & made some suggestions on a few problem areas I had. The technicians arrived within their scheduled time & were very professional & did EXACTLY what I was told. Just this summer I had Powerhouse come out to clean my kitchen tile as I was hosting a party & received so many compliments. Yet again, I couldn't have been any more satisfied! I've referred them to several of my friends and neighbors who have also enjoyed their experience & are continued customers. I know they've utilized their Air Duct & Water Extraction Services. The holidays are sneeking up again & I just had my house done just this Monday. Once again I was completely statisfied! Thank you Powerhouse for your hard work, dependability & professionalism. Failed to show up at the agreed time to clean my carpets. My husband took off work early to move all the furniture since they were to arrive between noon - 2:00pm. By 2:15pm, no one had arrived or called. So, I called Jawad, the manager I dealt with. He did not answer his cell, but I left a voicemail asking where they were. I tried the cell a couple more times. 30 minutes later, when there was no call back, I called the main number and talked with Jennifer. She said she would try to call Jawad and get back to me. Within a few minutes, she called. She had talked to Jawad (apparently he answered her call although he ignored mine). Seems they had taken some ""emergency"" calls from the heavy rains we had recently and they ""pushed"" their schedule out. I asked what that meant--and she said that they would be out here sometime after 5:00pm! I have a five year old who eats dinners and bathes right after school. There was no way we could have a group of men in here for 2-3 hours in the evening. I asked why no one called me to say there was a delay and all she could say was ""we're sorry for the inconvenience."" I guess the $500 estimate they gave me wasn't enough money for them to deem us as valuable customers. They certainly did not respect our time. It is the most unprofessional encounter I have ever had with cleaners of any kind. I would avoid them at all costs! more

I am writing this review because I am extremely disappointed with this company. They cleaned my carpet about 5 months ago and when I just moved, I noticed their cleaning products left rust stains where my bed frame was. This was extremely disappointing to find since other than these stains, my carpet was in excellent condition. I told the person who cleaned my carpet not to move my furniture around so there is no reason why this should have happened and the manager (Erica) refuses to correct the problem. I would strongly recommend using a different company for your carpet cleaning needs. Cons: Poor cleaning, bad customer service more

this is one of the worst carpet cleaners in austin hands down , the bill was way too high , all the stains came back when it dried , i had really bad pet odor and all the did was spray some air freshner , the technician got rude with me , they showed up in muscle shirts i didnt know if they were carpet cleaners or burglars, plus one of the technicans reeked of marijuana horrible horrible company Cons: everything more

Wasn't worth the bill. I had hoped the traffic areas would look better at least but not so. And I can still see a stain that should have come up from a simple coffee spill. Pros: At least they were quick. Cons: Big Bill. more

We called this company to assist us with a ""time sensitive"" cleaning. We had two rooms that were affected from a sick dog. They sent someone out IMMEDIATELY and the service was excellent. Very friendly staff and the technicians were able to remove all stains and leave the room looking and smelling lovely. We are new to the area and will call Powerhouse in the future for all of our carpet cleaning needs. more

I called and set an appointment for a cleaning after I read the reviews on here expecting good service. Instead I recieved poor workmanship and a huge bill! Way more than originally quoted and it wouldn't have been so bad if the carpet looked good after it was dry but the traffic areas still looked a bit dark and dingy looking. I ended up renting a rug doctor and going over the traffic areas one more time which worked out great. I might try them again sometime if they lower the rates and only because the workers were nice and seemed professional. Hard to find that now adays! Plus I need to keep my new home spotless as I plan to live here many years! Pros: Pleasant Staff. Cons: Did not focus on heavily soiled areas as much as they could have. more

These guys can clean carpets! They got ink out of a carpet that others had tried to clean 3 times. They were on time, polite, but honestley I've never had my carpets cleaned better than by Powerhouse. I just bought a 2400 square fot home that had badly soiled carpet and they had the whole house looking brand new. I was AMAZED. Superior company! I have only used Powerhouse services once - and I am getting ready to book them for another all house cleanup - but the results were superior to any carpet cleaning services I ever used. I am an apartment manager, and have been doing business with Powerhouse for 5 years. In this time, I have been approached by many other competitors promising lower prices & better quality. Being open minded, I give them all a shot - not once have I found any of these promises to be true! Powerhouse uses superior products & up-to-date machines for their cleans - the results speak for them selves! As if that weren't enough, the dedication & timeliness of the staff is impecable, and conducting business with the owner, has always been a pleasurable experience for me. If you haven't already, I reccomend you trying Powerhouse for your carpet cleaning needs. more
