I've been dining at Massimo for years and it has remained my favorite Italian restaurant in the Village. The secret is authentic Italian and crisp, professional service. I recommend that you skip the menu and ask your waitor for the specials. If available, choose the starter combo that recently included the freshest imported mozzarella, a delicious portobello, and fresh grilled asparagus. If you are into game, recent specials were grilled wild boar and venison. I ordered the venison in wine sauce and the meat melted in my mouth. The pasta choices are also wonderful and will bring back memories of dining in Firenze and Rome. Allow Massimo, the ever-present owner, to choose your wine. He always keeps the price in the range I specify and his selections perfectly complement the food. Food and service like this don't come at Olive Garden prices but you get what you pay for. I find the prices here very reasonable, especially compared to other places in the area. Give it a try and it will become a favorite.
