It is hard to go wrong when it comes to Uptown dining. However, this place is garbage. My friend and I each took our dates here for dinner on NYE 09 prior to heading to a party. The first thing that I found irritating was that even though all 4 of us had ordered cocktails our waiter continued to badger me on a wine purchase before we had even opened our menus. Eventually, I broke down and purchased a bottle to get rid off the waiter. When it came to the food, two people at our table had ordered pork chops which were prepared like a rare to medium rare steak which is exactly how I like my steak however, it is not the standard with pork. The pork chops were sent back very politely and at no time was any hint of empathy expressed from our server. My entree was described as coming with a side of roasted vegetables which consisted of barely steamed carrot and celery sticks. It looked identical to what you receive next to a basket of buffalo wings. Last but not least our bill was $200 per couple for an awful meal. I have never felt this violated by a restaurant. I strongly discourage anyone to go to this restaurant. Pros: Sardinian Wine Cons: Everything else more

Over priced and over rated 12/14/2008

The food is NOT worth the ridiculous amount of money we spent on this meal. The descriptions make the entrees sound fancy, but they are bland, unimaginative and as exciting as a plate of mashed potatoes. The prices are through the roof. Worst of all we asked for ONE order of each of two appetizers, but they went ahead and doubled the order without asking and then charged us for it when the bill came. The place is a dump, but they hang fancy pictures on the walls and keep it the lights dim so you don't see all the stains all over the carpets. If you want Italian- don't waste your money here. Go somewhere else like Patrizio's which is half the price and 10 times better food. more

Major Attitude from the Owner/Chef and Awful Bread 4/9/2008

This restaurant is like La Piazza in Fort Worth. You have to succumb to the whims of the owner and if you find his style arrogant; don't ask for anything special or make a suggestion; you will be skewered. Also - the bread reminds me of a can of pillsbury. Not worth the trip if you live more than 5 miles away. more

Best Anniversary EVER! 6/25/2007

My fiance and I went to Arcodoro for our 3rd year anniversary and we had a blast! We had a reservation for the formal dining room in Pomodoro, but much to our surprise they have a happy hour every Thursday, and we were early. So we sat at this beautiful bar, and visited with the bartender Walter, who was very attentive. They had out an assortment of food and special three dollar martini?s. By the time we were ready to sit at our table, we were having such a nice time, and we decided to have dinner at the bar. We had the Mozzarella Pomodoro which was just slices of tomatoes, but had buffalo mozzarella flown in from Italy that was just delectable. I had the Capesante e Gamberoni alla Griglia for my main course which was to die for. It is Shrimp in a saffron baisle sauce. I don?t think I have ever tried to remember the name of a plate I ordered for dinner. Francesco Farris, the chef came by the bar, and taught me how to pronounce it! All in all, we had a fabulous time! I hope to throw our reception there, and many many more anniversarys! Pros: Fantastic food and ambience more

Slow service administered by a self important staff 11/17/2006

In a world where the customer is always right... this restaurant gets it all wrong! My boyfriend and I were looking for a nice place to get good italian food and he remembered arcodoro from years past when he and his family visited the restaurant. When we arrived (an hour and a half before close) the patio and inside of the restaurant were both totally empty with the exception of a party inside and one couple outside. So we politely asked the hostess if we could sit on the patio. She proceeded to ask if we had a reservation... which we did not. So she sat us at the only table on the patio with bushes hanging over the tabletop. We asked if we could move to one of the other 20 tables on the patio, and she told us those were for reservations only. We stayed at the restaurant until 30 minutes before it closed. No other couples showed up... at all! The wait staff was also too good to wait on two 20-somethings... and took forever to get our food and wine out. If you value great customer service as we do... do yourself a favor, don't visit this restaurant!!! Pros: food was average Cons: bad service, the view is of a halfway house more

The food is authentic sardinian, and the wine list extensive. Definitely get the focaccia bread as an appetizer- it's delicious. The dining room is quiet and intimate, and the service very prompt. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food, and there's plenty of vegetarian options on the menu. Pros: extensive wine list more

Arcodoro & Pomodoro Ristoranti Italiani are now consolidated under one roof in the heart of Dallas fun Uptown district located at 2708 Routh Street. The Results of this union are stunning and will capture the diners imagination. The new location is the culmination of all that is Sardinian. It is here that you truly experience the Farris brothers Sardinian heritage through their cooking. The Restaurant is divided into two dining areas: Arcodoro has a see and be seen bar area and a more casual atmosphere, a great patio for spacious dining al fresco, a woodburning pizza oven and extraordinary pasta and grilled entrees. Pomodoro is slightly more formal with white tablecloths and candles and offers daily specials prepared by our Italian chefs. Copied from http://www.arcodoro.com/Dallas/Default.htm more
