Adel and Kenny were great. Really specific. But it was worth it. My application went through easily once it was put together by them. Thank you. Great job. I am really grateful.

Pincus Realty are scam artists!!! 8/2/2011

After reading the below review, I am beside myself! I am a single parent who works hard and I've been taken advantage of,as well! After a month of being told everything was fine, after packing up the majority of my belongs, after giving notice on my current apartment-they have said everything I had went well beyond their requirements, is not enough. Something needs to be done, but I don't know what else to do...if anyone knows how to help, please get in contact with me!!! more

SCAM SCUMS - STAY AWAY !!! 2/25/2011

I;m only giving one star because I have to. I am disgusted at these people. RUN if you see Pincus Realty!!! Lesson learned. Yes, I am bitter, I feel used and humiliated, invaded and violated after trusting that these people wanted to help me and my family rent an apartment. Those $200 could have paid for 2 months of my kid's after-school program, you bastards. $200 which I now have to work overtime to make up for. $200 for what? I walked in there with a truckload (and ALL) the necessary paperwork they requested, (that I was able to obtain and put together in a matter of hours) because they made me feel that I had a great chance at this apartment. They just looked my papers over. $200 for THAT? Really? Don't be as trusting to these folks as I was. They were rude and short to begin with. After they took my $200 (which they seemed to want the moment i stepped into the apartment) it turns out they were sheep in wolf's clothing. After they took my $200 they had an open house for the apartment. I wouldn't be surprised if they own these apartments and that's the way they make their living as opposed to renting them. WATCH OUT: They will ONLY take cash, or money order for the $200 deposit. They even offered to drive me to the ATM 5 minutes after seeing the apartment. How nice of them, eh? They took a picture of me with their phone for the security of the building. I had just seen the place and had not even applied for it yet. They made it seem that it was such a sure shot for me. and they kept saying they'd help me out. The kept coming up with excuses to turn us down, which I found challenging, so I kept producing paperwork for them and calling them on their BS. My husband and I have excellent credit score (781), we both have been in the same jobs for 10 years, we have lived in the same apartment for 9 years and have a letter of recommendation from the landlord as model tenants, and letters from our employers. Our incomes are average. We have no pets. The told us we didn't get the apartment because we didn't have at least 10,000 in savings. Yes, they got us on something that is true. But savings requirement was never mentioned before they took our deposit. I was spooked by the fact that they wanted to take pictures and then handed them all my financial information. I am going to take this as far as I can. Not so much to take my money back (though lord knows I'd love to), but because these people should be stopped from taking advantage of the middle-lower class, by offerring these same apartments on Main Street in Briarwood at below the market rates in order to rip people off. more

Apartment Rental - Pincus Realty a MUST 10/27/2010

Finding the right apartment for your parent can be a daunting task. This was not the case when I found Adele and Ken Pincus. It was immediately apparent that they had a wealth of knowlege, were extremely patient and worked tirelessly to find the ""just right"" apartment my mother, a senior who required a location with easy access to shopping and public transportation. They offered several choices and together, we visited and revisited each of their recommendations until making a final decision. I have recommended Pincus Realty to family and friends. more

Best realty ever! 10/21/2010

Looking for an apartment is stressful as hell but these guys turned it out for me. Patient, courteous, and what I think is the foremost quality: no lying or spinning crappy apts as worthwhile. Their knowledge and experience helped me to find the best apartment at a lower than the going rent rate. It was well worth the broker fee. I am saving hundreds a month because of them and they are so professional unlike some of the other quenns realtors. You must go to them! more

Extremely professional and down to earth! 10/20/2010

I could not say a single negative thing about Adele or Kenny. They are both extremely professional and informative while still keeping a smile. I was shown several apartments and each one was unique yet beautiful. However, I had a specific layout in mind so not all the apartments were up to my standards. Thanks to both Adele and Kenny, I found the perfect fit. They were very patient and did not push for me to take any of the apartments as many other agents do. They were interested in finding the perfect apartment for me regardless of how many apartments I was shown. When it came to the application process I was informed as to how extensive it would be. The management company we were dealing with is EXTREMELY particular as far as who they choose as tenants. However, I was qualified for the apartment and Adele and Kenny both worked hard to make the process as smooth and quick as possible. They made sure to find out whether I was qualified before I started the application process. I now have a fantastic apartment with a garage space in prime Forest Hills and am very happy. I would not have been able to find this apartment without the help of Adele and Kenny Pincus. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a quality apartment in a well managed building. more

Had a great experience, nicest people 10/20/2010

I called them on an ad from Craigslist and spoke to Adele Pincus, one of the owners. She could not be more informative, friendly & above all, helpful. She showed me several great apartments (the best selection I've seen) and I loved one of them. She led me through the application process and walked me through all my fears. Her husband & business partner, Kenny was also very helpful in explaining the process & letting me know what was required to get the apartment. Needless to say I live in a fabulous building in Forest Hills, am extremely happy and have recommended all my friends to use Pincus Realty. more

would not work with them again 9/30/2010

Very pleasant at first, but became increasingly impatient and condescending as the process went on. Seemed annoyed by questions and had dismissive attitude. Told my husband he was being ""difficult from the start"" because he had some questions/concerns and did not want to rush into signing a lease without having them answered. Don't trust them and have referred people elsewhere. more

Terrible 9/8/2010

Very rude and treats you like garbage. After paying them for the high application fee, they will try to give you bogus reasons to tell you that you are not qualified. Avoid at all cost. more

Rip Off 2/1/2010

their modus operandi is they show you a very nice place which is supposedly being ""undersold"". They make it look like they are very throughout about getting every single minute detail supposedly to be fair when you apply. They act very nice until they take your money after that it all goes downhill. They will make up any number of reasons for your disqualification and the niceness pretty much goes away. Do not under any circumstances use them, contact the management company of the building you are interested in and they will give you referrals or talk to them directly. They are nothing just con artist ripping people off. Cons: unresponsive once they have money more

STAY AWAY FROM THEM! 2/1/2010

If you expect to actually rent a place without any frustration, do not use this company. They are pleasant at first and they would show you great apts that are in great location and cheap. They would ask you a bunch of questions about your credit and finances, and tell you you are the perfect candidate for the apt. But, after you fill out the application and pay them $200 in cash for application fee, they will somehow come up with any excuse why you did not qualify for the place. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!! more

Horrible experience 6/24/2009

Found a wonderful apartment by calling the office, but after I filled out the application things started to go downhill. When I signed the lease, they rushed me through the process (it took 18 minutes), giving me little chance to read over the contract that I was signing. Even when I objected to the pace, I was just pacified and rushed some more. Afterward, the couple wouldn't return my calls, wouldn't answer any of my questions that still needed clarification, they flat our REFUSED to give me a copy of the lease until I moved in, they could not answer simple questions about the utility providers, refused to give me the landlord's number, and practically screamed at me when I suggested I work with the management company for some of my concerns. I later found that they entirely withheld information or lied about key additional expenses (for example, I was required to purchase and install my own deadbolt for $150 and I was also told gas would be $8 a month, but in reality it is $40.) They share most of their listings with other broker's...I suggest you go to the competitors to get the same apartments. Pros: they rent well maintained apartments Cons: rude, unhelpful, deceitful, phony... more

stay away from this broker 7/31/2008

Very shrewed couple run this business, be aware of them. They are very nice in the beginning, but once they take your money, you will see their real picture. Don't know how they are in this business for so many years. Pros: nothing Cons: high broker fee, bad behavior (after they get your money), more
