Pik-A-Pup Kennel

My boyfriend and I have always talked about getting a puppy and when he moved into a place that allows dogs we were excited to start looking. We went to buddy dog and I got absolutely heart broken over a dog that wasn't marked as being adopted we really wanted to take her home with us. Ontop of that even if we could have her theres a huge process to get ""oked"" to own her. A co worker of mine recommended this place to us when I told her what happened with B.D. We looked on their website and saw they had a sheltie! The next day we went to meet this little puppy and she was perfect. The staff takes great care in their puppies, they ask you do not touch the puppies until you have washed your hands and then you can meet the ones you would like to. The owner was very nice and answered all of our questions thoroughly. He recommended products to take home with her and even gave us her pedigree so NO she is NOT a puppymill puppy. We had her for a week or so and they called to see how she was adapting to her new home. She was 12 weeks exactly the day we took her home and now she just turned 7 months! She is a wonderful, loving puppy and we can't thank Pik A Pup enough! more

We bought a 4 month old chihuahua from here and he passed away at 12 years old. At first he had kennel cough and hypoglycemia. But his whole life he was a healthy dog until his last month with us. He had a wonderful temperament and socialized as well. We loved him dearly. The only reason I don't give them 4 stars is that were not sure why he got so sick. Vets thought Nuerological problem never identified before. But he lived a healthy long life otherwise. We miss him. more

16 years ago I bought my first cockapoo from Pik-A-Pup and when she passed away after a long, healthy life, I looked at many breeders, kennels and pet stores for a new cockapoo. Pik-A-Pup replied to my email, had three puppies to chose from, and I bought another perfect little puppy who I hope will be with me for the next 16 years. We searched far and wide and checked out many shelters (which had age requirements and the process just seemed so tedious) and finally came across Pik-A-Pup. Being from Boston, we drove the 40 minutes down and were so pleased by what we saw. The runs where the puppies were were so clean and spacious! All of the puppies were barking and wagging their tails. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. We knew we wanted a fairly big dog and we knew they had 3 labs. After playing endlessly with this adorable male yellow lab, we knew he was the one. We have had our puppy, Titan, for a couple months now. We adopted him at 9 weeks and now he's just a week away from being 5 months! He is absolutely gorgeous and we have had ZERO health problems with him. He was potty-trained in a week, knows sit, stay, paw, drop and lay down and I haven't heard him bark once! Which is amazing for a lab puppy! The only thing he chews is his toys which we are very grateful for and his temperament is amazing. He loves other dogs and is extremely friendly. Overall, we are very very pleased with Pik-A-Pup. They were as good as their word and we even have up to a years worth of reimbursement for genetic problems which is quite the reassurance. I would recommend this place to anyone. The people are honest and really take care of their puppies. We can't wait to enjoy Titan for 15 more years! more

I read about Pik-A-Pup Kennel in the newspaper and, when I called them, they were very accommodating on the phone. I went there the same day and was greeted at the door. They knew what I wanted and attended to me right away, taking me right to the dog. \r \r Their explanation of the care was complete and concise. The paperwork was easily explained and did not take long at all to get through. Later, when I lost some of the paperwork and had to call them back for information on the microchip so that I could register the dog correctly, they were again very accommodating. \r \r I would recommend Pik-A-Pup Kennel because of their personal, one-on-one attention to the prospective buyer. more

We initially decided to use Pik-A-Pup Kennel because of many good referrals. For a couple of months, we continually stopped in to check on the quality of the puppies and how they cared for them. They did a wonderful job, which is why we decided to get our puppy from them. \r \r Pik-A-Pup is a really dependable service. Sometimes, buying a puppy from non-breeder can be looked down upon, but I think that Pik-A-Pup actually provides a better service because they take full responsibility and do all of the vet testing. The puppy also interacts with other animals, so it is much more balanced, well-behaved, and healthier. \r \r Not only was Pik-A-Pup extremely helpful in giving us all of the information we needed, but, when our puppy was not eating properly and got dehydrated, they stepped up to help. We found pick a pup on the internet. So we were not to sure what to expect when we arrived! The place was spotless and the puppies were very well cared for. My 4yr old son fell in love with a boston terrier and the help there was very informative about the breed. We ended up taking that dog home that day and named her Lucy! We are very much in love with her and I would recommend to anyone that wants a new addition to there family to go to pick a pup! more

It was a natural choice to return to Barry and the staff at Pik-A-Pup Kennel after buying our Teddy Bear two years ago. We chose to deal with them because they really do care about their pups welfare. Our recent purchase of three new pups was a great experience. I got a Wheaten Terrier from this place. He is the smartest dog I have had so far. But im sure everyone says that. He was very clean and happy when we went to see him at the kennel.His name is "Charlie boy". At our first vet check all was well. Great place to buy a PUPPY hi, I recently got my chihuahua from Pikapup, before ending up here i did go to a few other places, like laughlin kennel...their puppies just look so ill campared to the care the puppies get at pikapup. I know some people want to say dont buy from a store..in case anyones wondering, i did try to adopt..but because i was 25 they felt I wasnt experienced to take care of a puppy.. Anyway, Pikapup is great everytime I am there. they are always cleaning the cages, puppies look much better and are cuter than other stores I went to. I dont know what I would have done without the womans help...thanks so much for giving me my new best friend. more

This place is great. They hire enthusiastic, knowledgeable people who totally love there pups and want them to be happy and healthy. Each employee I have found to have definite theories about what is good and not good for your new pup. It should be acknowledged , should be taken as "strongly viable" information. Sometimes I get conflicting info due to this, because pet health and pet psychology is still a developing science, What I love is the passion and the interest they have in imparting their understanding. Their advisement has helped me a lot with the rearing of my puppy i purchased from them(my first one!). I stopped in A few days ago. It was about 10 in the morning, The kennel staff were in the middle of cleaning. It was nice to see them scrubbing the walls and all. Not just changing the poopey stuff, They seamed to really care about the cleanness of the cages the pups were in. Well not really cages more like large runs, they called them i think. I wasn't sure of what breed i wanted, and a girl there helped explain the trats of the ones i liked. I decide to go home and do reserch. i dont want to get the wrong puppy for my 1st dog.. But i will go back to the kennel when im ready. Pros: Good selection Cons: To many to choose from more

I Bought a puppy from pickapup about 6 mo ago. It is a little pug girl. We named her "Zoey" She is a great puppy about 8 moths old now. We just had her spayed at the vet. She Is a very healthy and happy zoey. You should see her running in the back yard. Sometimes we have to make her come in.! I would get my next zoey there..Tiffany more
