Peterson Oil Service

I have been a Peterson oil customer since 1989,my father since 1964 My grandfather worked for them for many years,you would think this would mean something to them. Recently my 80 year old father had a oil burner problem and called for service,he was told that because he had not purchased any oil from them recently he was no longer a customer and they do not do service calls for non customers as they do not make any money on service calls even though they charge 75.00 dollars per hour.my father explained to them he could not afford the high cost of oil and was cutting back the use of his heat and using a pellet stove to supplement,thats why he does not buy oil as often. The last tank lasted him 2 years. I live next door to him with a similar situation and was told I was no longer a customer even though I spend thousands of dollars per year purchasing fuel from their gas station near my house.Bear in mind Peterson installed both of these heating systems originaly and they are both problematic.Their customer service rep was rude to me and my father.I could never recommend them to anyone for oil as they are the highest price in the area and there service department is horrible. we switched to another oil company who serviced our equipment right away and also explained that it was installed incorrectly,that is why we have had so many problems. more

I have been a customer for a few years since we have moved into our new house and have had problems with their ""customer service."" I recently ordered oil and went on their website and logged on to my account. Where it states to order an oil delivery it tells you ""todays price"" and thats what I go by when I leave my check for the driver each time. I leave the check at the time of delivery because there is a 16 cents discount per gallon if paid within a wk. When I received my delivery a slip was left with a much higher price per gallon and I called the next day to find out why. Whomever I spoke with wasn't sure why that price was on the website and didn't even offer to fix the problem because now my check is $6 short. I'm a good paying customer and they couldn't even offer to except the fact that they made a mistake and move on. So now I just got a bill for $22 for the remainder, what happened to $6??? The people you speak with when you call are of NO help at all!!! and don't plan to email them because they don't respond to that either!!! WE ARE LEAVING PETERSON OIL AND MOVING ON, THERE ARE PLENTY OF OIL CO. OUT THERE THAT WOULD ME MORE THAN WILLING TO TAKE MY $$$$. more

I've used Peterson for over 4 years and in two different houses, both with quite old furnaces that needed some repairs a couple of times each winter. Peterson's repair personnel were quick to respond and were almost always able to fix the problem on their first visit. I'm also happy with the selection of fuel purchase programs that they offer, especially since I was able to lock in a relatively low per-gallon rate before prices raised during each of the last two years. more
