It is unfortunate that a few customers had an unpleasant experience with our business. This likely resulted due to a communication error about the style of grooming we provide and credentials we possess. Perfect Pooch Grooming has been in business for over 10 years now and we have many clients who appreciate our services on a routine basis. We have a grooming shop location and mobile unit to help meet the needs of our customers. We also provide a dog sitting service for when our clients are out of town and daily care for their dogs is needed. In general, mobile grooming costs more than shop grooming because of the time and travel, and overhead of the vehicle. Jim, as the current owner of this business is a Certified Groomer with the National Dog Groomer's Association, ex-veterinary technician, and has CPR training. Daughter Caroline is also a Certified Groomer. Our goal is to furnish the highest quality grooming experience possible for the dog and their owners. We specialize in grooming dogs that have grooming anxieties, are young, elderly, shy or have other special needs. We do not rush dogs through the grooming process and understand dogs have feelings. They are capable of learning given the right environment, that grooming should not be feared and will not be a negative experience. We are willing to take the time to talk to our clients about the kind of grooming they desire for their pet. We do not charge for these consultations. We try our hardest to make sure our clients are informed about their dogs overall grooming experience with issues regarding behavior training, teeth maintenance, shedding, skin irritants, diet, etc. Our prices are somewhat higher than other grooming shops since we believe in high quality grooming practices. Our grooming process is different than most because we are using premium professional grooming products, sanitizing tools to the barber standards for human hair, shaving hair under paws and between toes, filing nails rounded rather than clipping them, maintaining teeth routinely to prevent plaque and tartar buildup, and groom dogs around the scheduling convenience of our clients. I'm a busy guy. I run my own small business, and my time is precious. Jim, comes to my house on my schedule and does everything. Washes my dogs, grooms them, trims their nails is a humane way, and brushes their teeth. Both my dogs are rescues and very timid. He takes his time, and really treats them well. I wholeheartedly recommend them! more

I took my two dogs to this guy because he was in my neighborhood--literally 1/2 mile away. Like someone else said, I wish I had read these reviews before making an appointment with him to groom my dogs. When I dropped off my dogs I asked for a ballpark figure and he quoted me about $100 for the two dogs. TOTAL. When I came to pick up my dogs the bill was over $225.00 I understand that a ""ballpark"" figure may be a bit more than the quoted amount...but off by over $125??? Rip off. My dogs don't even look significantly better than when I dropped them off. Dude will never be getting any of my money again. more

I wish I would have seen this review before contacting perfect pooch grooming. He overcharged me (including tax) for what I received. He told me he wouldn't charge me tax if I paid him in cash. There was no way I was paying in cash. AND, he used our electricity. Had it been a really good grooming job, I may have been ok with the price but it wasn't. Instead of shaving and cleaning up areas, I noticed after my dog was all the way dry that he just brushed him really well! And he tried to sell me some shampoo and gave me suggestions of putting vegetable oil in his food for his skin! What?? Scam, pure scam more

When I decided to use a mobile groomer, I knew I'd pay a little bit more for the convenience of keeping my dog at home, but I NEVER thought it would be over 3 times what I had ever paid for a groom. Perfect Pooch charges a $60 mobile fee + $60 grooming + $15 consultation + $20 teeth cleaning + tax....My bill was over $160! My dog is not going to be in the Westminster dog show tomorrow, she just needed her hair trimmed and her nails cut! I felt like it was incredibly deceptive to add all of those fees, especially without telling me...I mean, a consultation fee for me to say ""cut her hair and leave the ears a little long""?! Ridiculous. Oh, and he also tried to sell me a product to keep tarter off of the dog's teeth at the end- as if I had any more money in my bank account....
