Pennsauken Animal Hospital

Docs here perform procedures on animals left in their care without asking the owner first. Left pet for one procedure and return to find they had decided to run a battery of full body and blood tests without asking me first which resulted in a bill that was nearly *double* their verbal estimate. And a week later they decide it is time to put my pet down anyway. Bad, bad business practices. Shady. I'm never bringing any of my animals back to this place.\r \r The only reason this place gets a 2nd Star is because the front desk and support staff is really friendly. more

I have taken all my pets to Dr Rippi for year and year. He is the best ever. Dr Rippi has lived my Jack Russell live and I am so ever greatful to him. Nancy in the office is very pleasant and greets Jax and I at the door when we have an appointment. The staff has been very kind to us also. Dr Rippi explains everything in detail. I recommended my friend to Pennsauken Animal Hospital and now her Jack Russell is his patient. What can I say, He's our Vet and always will be. more

It may be expensive, but it's worth it. The staff was nice. I took my kitten in and they were able to diagnose him. I had this other animal hospital that dismissed everything and just handed me this vitamin. The receptionist saw that we were struggling with money and offered me some tips. She even gave me some other places to go to that would allow me to pay monthly. They were all concerned and didn't look annoyed at all. They're very friendly, and I would go again if I had the money. more

I came to this office and wasn't overly pleased with the experience. In this office, no one introduced themselves. To make the experience even less pleasant, I waited over an hour beyond my appointment time. Other than that, no complaints. more

I've been going here for 20 years. Dr. Rippie is the best vet I ever had, and his staff is terriffic. When I had to put my last dog down (at almost 15 years), his vet techs cried right along with me because they knew him so well. They all treat my dog with great humor (he's a little goofy - but aren't they all) and I know I can call them at any time and they say, "come on in." Though there might be a wait, I can be sure that Dr. Rippe and Dr. McLahan will see him, and take the time to give him whatever care he needs. more

January 31, 2011 - we had to take our two and a half year old cat Leland to the vet. Our regular vet Maple Shade Animal Hospital refused treatment, since it was "appointment" day. We were sick over this. We then called Pennsauken Animal Hopsital and they told us to bring Leland right in. Dr. Rippie and his staffe were AMAZING! It turns out Leland had broken his back and was paralyzed. We had to put him down. Me, my husband & daughter were devastated. But Dr. Rippie and his staff were to sweet and caring. I will be changing vets. I cannot recommend Dr. Rippie more. He is such a caring, sweet person. Thank you Pennsauken Animal Hospital for all your concern & help through a horrible experience. more

I love Pennsauken Animal Hospital. The staff and Dr. Rippie and Dr. McLahan are great. Recently while Dr. Rippie was away on vacation, I had a very unfortunate experience with Dr. Dubin. My dog was a heart patient who took a turn for the worse. He was having a lot of trouble breathing. Dr. Rippie had warned me this could happen because his heart was so bad. I didn't want him to suffer so I took him in to be euthanized. When I got to the hospital I was shocked at how we were treated. Dr. Dubin barely glanced at the dog. He wouldn't look at his x-rays. He gave him a shot and told me to take him home. The dog still couldn't breathe and I expressed my concern that my pet was suffering. The doctor threw his arms up in the air and walked out of the room. I had no choice but to take my dog home. He couldn't breathe unless I held him straight up. Even then he was still struggling to catch his breath. This was a hard decision for me to make. I didn't take it lightly and I wasn't giving up on my more

I will never see Dr. Dubin again after our experience with him. He should retire. He may be a nice man outside of practice, but as a veterinarian, I would NOT recommend him. He has an ego and was very arrogant in answering our questions. I also believe he did not do a thorough evaluation of our dog. I am very unhappy with his services. I do like Dr. Rippie but if Dr. Dubin is the only vet available, I will not be going to Pennsauken Animal Hospital. more

Been taking our dogs to Dr Rippie almost 8 years - He is awesome, staff is wonderful. Just be sure to see Dr Rippie he takes his time and is very conservative and not an alarmist.\r We really are patients... more

My family has been going to Dr. Rippie at Pennsauken Animal Hospital for 15+ years and have not had any complaints. However, recently I had to take my dog in when Dr. Rippie was on vacation and saw Dr. Dubin. The experience I had with Dr. Dubin was by far the WORST vet experience I have ever had. He actually refused to cut my dogs nails and told me to go home and file them with an emory board! He talked down to me and even gave me an english lesson on the meaning of 'normal'. Although, I love Dr. Rippie after this experince I will not be going back to Pennsauken Animal Hospital. more

The most compassionate group of people. Nancy"the front desk " was so kind.She was the reason I came their.Joe, a teddy bear kind of man.He was ever so gentle taking my ivory's temperature.A beautiful nurse who had a lending ear, and a soft touch.I'm sorry I didn't get her name.Dr. Rippie who felt the pain I felt the moment he told me about the tumors on my 14 yr. old cat.The doctor did everything to make my cat and I comfortable.He never once ask me to make any kind of decision.We both knew the outcome and yet he just told me to call him tomorrow.Never once did I feel money was any kind of issue with him....Thank you for your kindness during our very sad time.I would highly recommend your office.\r Thank you,\r Maureen Neal more

In my pets time of need the staff at Pennsauken Animal Hospital were very professional and nursed my injured dog back to health. They were fair in pricing and kept us informed during her stay. more
