Best Haircuts for kids!!! 12/7/2007

I am soooo pleased with this place. I went with my 3 year old son for the first time today after reading the reviews on here. Haircuts are normally very stressful with him, but they made it such a fun experience!!! Little tvs, toys, great attitudes, friendly service and understanding are just a few of the things that made this a worth while visit! If anyone is looking for a place to take their tot...this is the place to do it! Pros: Friendly, understanding, tvs, toys, great cuts, great people...Affordable! Cons: NONE! more

The best place for kids in the Triangle!!!!! 11/25/2007

I don't usually write reviews but I had to after going to Peek-a-Do! It was FANTASTIC!!!!!! My two year old got the cutest hair cut I've ever seen and she and my 3-year-old son had so much fun there. The person who cut my daughter's hair was so friendly and did such a great job that I made appointments for myself and my son for next weekend! But the best part was that I just got all my Christmas shopping done for both my kids and my 3 nephews. They have the best toy selection -- they don't have tons of toys, but the toys they have are really well chosen and I picked perfect toys for all five kids in about 15 minutes. The one piece of advice I would give is that I would call ahead to make an appointment. They were crazy busy yesterday -- it was a Saturday and I don't know if it's that busy all the time but I was glad i made an appointment. I definitely recommend Peek-a-Do!!!!!! more

MY EXPERIENCE AT PEEK A DO WAS THE BEST ALON VISIT I EVER HAD. THE STYLISTS ARE THE BEST, THEY ARE VERY ENERGETIC AND WONDERFUL WITH MY KIDS. THE OWNER JILL SIMPSON IS THE BEST YOU ARE A GENIUS FOR CREATING SUCH A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE FOR THE KIDS TO COME GET HAIR CUTS, MANICURES, PLAY WITH TOYS AND THE SIGNATURE OF THE GLITTER AND RIBBONS FOR LITTLE GIRLS AND THE TREASURE BOX . AMAZING people, hair cuts, toys, and smiles!! 10/10/2007

I loved walking into Peek-A-Do and being greeted by the staff with all smiles:) they even knew our names! I had the pleasure of bringing kids that I babysit to the salon and it was so fun..even for me! The kids LOVED it...they got to choose their own movies, get special attention from the stylists and the receptionist, were handled so well when they were scared of the buzzers or the clippers, and afterwards even got a special toy and lollipop!! I got a lollipop too:) and the kids loved that they could just stay and play for awhile...it was fantastic, and a great break from the chaos of the day....I am not even a mom but moms I recommend for you to be able to relax and for your kids to have fun AND get a great haircut!!:) enjoy! more

We LOVE Peek a do!! 10/10/2007

I have been bringing my 4 kids to Peek a do for almost 2 years now and have NEVER had a bad experience. The staff is always great with my kids (even when they shouldn't be!). My son cried through his first haircut and now can't wait to get there every month. My 3 daughters love the fancy glitter spray and ribbon they get after each haircut and my son looks forward to driving the cool kids chairs. My kids get compliments all the time because their hair is so cute--the haircuts have always been great. I highly recommend Peek a do to everyone out there, you won't be disappointed! Great with children and friendly staff 10/10/2007

I walk into Peek-a-Do! and the staff greeted me as well as my son with a smile.It was impressive they called us by our names.Me personally for a first time experience was wondering how would my son react? Once I seen he was able to choose his own movie to watch while being serviced , I thought ""Wow This Is Awesome"".Thank YOU for a grea job well done !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unlikely to go back 10/2/2007

The hairdresser didn't pay attention for a split second and my daughter (a toddler) nicked her finger on the scissors, which resulted in some bleeding. The staff were apologetic and helpful, but it was a pretty upsetting experience for all involved (hairdresser included). My wife stresses that it was nobody's fault, but I think a haircutting business that caters to children should practice additional vigilance. more

Never go 9/22/2007

Horrible salon. Hairdresser's there are nasty and rude, and hurt your child when trying to do there hair. Ther girl pulled on my daughter's hair while coming and made her cry. I paid and left, wouldn't even let her cut. She wouldn't talk to us. This was my daughters 1st time. I am a hairdresser myself and I couldn't believe what I saw and how they treated her. I am telling everyone I know to never go there again.I am so disappointed and hurt by this whole experience. Pros: Great toys Cons: Terrible atmosphere and horrible service more

PeekaDo is great! They've thought of everything to make it fun for kids and parents. And the stylists know how to work with kids. My son had never sat through a haircut without having a tantrum but he loved his PeekaDo stylist. He keeps asking to go back. Pros: staff, value for money, fun more

This is the most attractive, well-designed, customer oriented salon in my experience! The staff is extremely sensitive to children. All the children I observed received great haircuts and had a terrific time. In addition, there is a wonderful selection of toys. Finally, the salon also gets a 10plus for cleanliness. I recommend it highly! more

Absolutely Wonderful!!! 12/28/2005

I brought my daughter in for a mother/daughter manicure and to get both of our haircuts and it was a terrific experience! The receptionist was so sweet and she gave us such a warm welcome, offering us their own free bottled water! The stylist/manicurist was very pleasant and she did a wonderful job on our nails and our hair. This was the best haircut that my daughter and I had ever had and our nails were gorgeous! My husband and son reluctantly went with us but they were delighted when we arrived because they could play in the play area (which kept them out of our way!!!) We will definately go back to Peek-a-Do! Pros: Great Staff, Great Services, Great Toys more

At long last 12/12/2005

Both of my preschool girls do not like getting haircuts and I have had to endure their refusals and tantrums in the past, yet our experiences at this salon have been just the opposite. My four year-old was actually eager to get her hair cut and she sat quietly watching TV and came away with a lovely, fashionable style. My two year-old was the bigger test case, of course. She just needed a bangs-cut and isn't fond of strangers. But we let her play around the play area first to get acclimated to the new place, and the stylist approched her with finesse (Parents know only some people know how to introduce themselves to a skittish toddler!). My toddler, too, happily sat watching television, got a good cut, and was charmed by her free toy. We'll be back... Pros: Happy kids, Chic decor, Thoughtful staff more

The BEST place in town for toys!!! 11/27/2005

In addition to fabulous haircuts, Peek-a-Do has the best toy selection I have ever seen! The toys they carry are not only fun but affordable! They have fun and unique toys that kids of all ages will enjoy! In the past I have struggled to find toys that will excite the little ones in my life but with the awesome selection at Peek-a-Do you can't go wrong! This place is a must see!!! I took my 7 year old son in to Peek-a-do for a haircut and was very pleased. The staff is professional and courteous. He loved the fact that he could watch a movie while getting his hair cut, and his biggest comment was that he didn't feel ""itchy"" after since the stylist did a great job of not letting the hair get around his neck! I was very impressed by the cleanliness of the salon- the play/waiting area is fantastic! Pros: cleanliness, professional staff, Fun Place!!! more

All I can say is that thhis place is cool! Staff -- extremely cool. The salon - so cool. The toys -- very cool. We've had a kids hair cuts and have done our christmas shoopping there as well. Wewill be back again and again. more

Wonderful Place for Kids and Parents! 11/20/2005

I took my daugher to Peek-A-Do for a haircut and manicure. While she was being pampered, her haircut complete with a bow and her choice of glitter, I shopped for (and played with) toys, talked with the lovely owner and staff, and had a complimentary Peek-A-Do bottle of water! It was a fun experience for both of us and we have made it our permanent salon. We'll return often both for the haircuts and the toy selection. more

We love Peek-a-Do!!!! We went there when they first opened (I think early October) and have been back three times! my kids got great haircuts and we've gotten some great toys too. We will definitely be going back for stocking stuffers -- they have a great selection. Great for kids AND Moms!! 11/13/2005

I brought my kids to Peek-a-Do this weekend and it is amazing! My son got an adorable haircut and my daughter got a manicure and haircut and looks great! We had so much fun playing in their play area, we didn't want to leave. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves...this is a must for all Triangle families! Pros: friendly staff, clean and fun, great haircuts! more
