Park Avenue Cleaners

I have gone to Park Avenue's on Lebanon Rd. in the past and not had any problems, but after my most recent experience have decided I won't be doing any more business there. First off, the girl behind the counter informed me that instead of $1.50 for two of my items, she would be charging me $5.00 for one and $3.00 for another due to the fabric and beading around the neckline. Kind of defeats the purpose of coming to a $1.50 cleaners, I told her. I asked her why they had never charged that for those items in the past, as I specifically remember bringing those shirts in before and only being charged $1.50. She dismissively told me they'd changed their policy. I told her I'd just take those to the regular cleaners. I really feel they should have this posted this new policy somewhere as an FYI to customers so they won't be taken aback when asked to pay more than $1.50. It makes it seem like false advertising otherwise - like a ploy to get people in and then charge them the same as anywhere else anyway. i have used this cleaner regularly over the last 5 years. within the last year service has really gone downhill. worker turnover rate is high. i no longer see the man i presumed to be the owner and it seems that nobody is watching the store. i have had two incidents of missing clothes or having someone else's items in my order. there may have been more before i started paying attention! although they offer same day service they are more and more likely to fail to have the order ready or complete. several buttons loose or missing. need i say more?! After walking in 5 minutes short of the 9 am out by 5 pm drop off time, I was able to get my 5 pieces done sooner. That didn't sit well with another employee who wasn't even waiting on us as she kept adding in her one cent (short of two cents) and throwing my two year old daughter and I the evil eye. I just wanted to leave, and doing so she followed us out of the store after I forgot to grab my tickets. Trying to kill her with kindness didn't work either because she ten proceeded to flip me off. I'm just glad I had gotten my daughter in the car before she did. Short on customer service and class.
