This business also operates under the name Bath Planet San Antonio. Buyer Beware. Customer Service absolutely horrible. Service Guarantee not worth the paper it is printed on. Owner states he takes complaints seriously and hasn't had any. Absolutely NOT True. Just Remember Buyer Beware more

Awesome Carpentry, Awesome Sales guy, horrible experience with hot tub not fitting, stain poorly done the first time, second time by Victor only lasted six months, we give up. This is very sad because if the owner would have better control over his carpenters and their tardiness/starting late. We had a bad experience with the Forman but he corrected it and apologized and I think we just got off on the wrong foot and he was frustrated as well. I would hope that this company would have learned a valuable lesson last year because I believe it could survive from all this with better customer service and better control of their subcontractors (carpenters). Would I recommend them? Yes, but I would ask alot of questions about all that you read here. we have a beautiful deck, horribly stained, gazebo roof expertly done, fine carpentry but a very painful slow process and we tried to be as patient as possible. I hope they succeed on their skills of carpentry and design and clean up their more

SALESPEOPLE BEWARE 3/28/2011

THIS COMPANY WILL RIP YOU OFF.\r Under training, they make you a promise that you will suceed based on their past performances. However, after reading the online complaints they are really a scam.\r The Owner RICK. Stands overly confident that he is versed in all aspects of sales, but the fact is he is a good information provider, but lacks in integrity, principles. I was promised a 3 day training based on my experience. and a guaranteed salary of $500 until they get me going. However, after I began I spent the first day role playing which is the learning process of doing a home visit. I cold tell that by the process he didn't know what he would say next and did it by the seat of his pants. I felt that he spoke only to hear himself talk. Or because he liked the sound of his own voice. The manager in training who was the other expert didn't know anything either. So we spent the day at the training manager's home doing a training demo. My total time investment for this day was 7 hours.\r Th more

Better than imagined! 3/9/2011

Paradise Decks & Spas built our new deck. After reading some of the reviews, needless to say, I was cautious. We had Kent and Kyle come out and give us an estimate on our deck. We were very impressed with the sketches and the price and signed the contract on the spot. They then told us Jaime would be calling to set up a time for Chris, the construction manager, to come out to do some final measurements. Jaime called right when Kent and Kyle said she would and Chris showed up right when Jaime said he would. So far... so good! Then Chris told me the deck builder would be out on Monday, Feb 28th to start the deck. Feb 28th came and there he was, Derrick was on the job! Derrick worked diligently on the deck every single minute that he was here. He was here all week (with help) and only took a lunch break (for 20 mins) on ONE day. I was extremely impressed with his work ethic but felt bad because he had to be starving, working sun up to sun down! But, a break he wouldn't take. more

My name is Rick Hogue, and I am the owner of Paradise Decks and Spas. I take great pride in taking care of our customers. If you check our rating with the BBB, you'll see we maintain an A or A- rating at all times. We generally have no more than 7 complaints in a 36 month period (out of approximately 4,000 jobs built in that time period!) and that all complaints have been satisfactorily resolved. Since I don't know who posts complaints on the internet web sites, it's hard to act on them. However, please call me at 496-3325 if you have a legitimate complaint. Destroyed my backyard 5/29/2010

I really did not think they could tear up my ENTIRE BACKYARD! Turns out I was wrong :( And thankfully they did this right before it poured rain and made it even worse. I'm still picking out the cigarette butts from my yard. more

Paradise Decks & Spas, LLC is HORRIBLE 9/4/2009

Saying Paradise Decks and Spas is incompetent is a tremendous understatement in my experience. I characterize their work as one delay after another followed by a string of unfulfilled promises. Their work was unskilled and careless in my opinion. The time spent on the phone dealing with the various problems I experienced with Paradise, along with the multiple delays, was significant and should be figured into your quote. I would recommend that you have your lawyers draw up a contract for them to sign rather than signing theirs if you must work with them. To their credit, Paradise loves to apologize and promise they will rectify their poor work. Unfortunately words are much more easily delivered than a final product. I would not recommend Paradise Decks and Spas. Consider yourself warned. \r \r One other point ? notice the pattern in the reviews posted on this site. Aside from other obvious flags, the first three beginning 10/02/08 are all negative and spaced far apart. Then more

WOW! I have my own Paradise in my backyard! 8/24/2009

I have been most pleased with my outdoor kitchen and deck from Paradise. The salespeople and the workers were very knowledgeable and professional, and were very clear with me throughout the process of building my "oasis". I did get bids from several companies before deciding to go with Paradise, and while one or two of the bids were "cheaper", I also believe that the work would not have been as good. The old saying "you get what you pay for" is true! I am thrilled and looking forward to spending a lot of time entertaining friends and family in my new area. I would highly recommend Paradise for any decking/and outdoor work. They are the BEST!! more

We had a very negative experience with another company here in town that left us with an unsightly deck with structural defects and code violations. After vigorous attempts to resolve these issues we were referred to Paradise. We found all of the interactions with Paradise to be the epitome of professionalism. The installers went above and beyond to build our deck and patio to ensure our complete and total satisfaction. Best Customer Service and Builders in San Antonio!!! 8/21/2009

Wanted to share how happy we are. From the personally performed consultation, taking into account our budget, our vision of what we wanted, to your lifetime guarantee as long as we owned the home and stained/sealed it with the specific stain you reccommended. I was amazed with this guarantee... no one else could come close to matching it. The builders were awesome, courteous, and kept me informed through the whole process. Not only did you build the deck but also a pondless waterfall that sounds and looks just like I always wanted. I will continue to recommend Paradise to everyone I know. Paradise has the best customer service I have ever had in San Antonio!! more

Paradise Decks & Spas, LLC is not a good builder 6/17/2009

Beware!! I had a 20 ft composite deck built by Paradise. After they installed the railing on it it was very loose, I brought it to their attention and they have come now 3x to try and fix it . Their fix is like putting a band aid on it. I had my whole house inspected and the inspector put the railing on the report and also he said they never installed the joists the were attached to the house right. He said they needed joist hangers and that this was a dangerous thing since this deck is 12 ft off the ground! Well they came and looked at the deck, tightened the railing again and did not do the joist hangers!! Their answer was it was fine the way it is!! I have called managers , left messages and no one will call me back.. Be warned they do shoddy work and do not stand behind any of it!! more

Unhappy 2/16/2009

I recently had a patio cover built by Paradise. Its unfortunate that the company builds directly from the purchase order. When my patio cover was complete it looked lopped sided. The left side overhang is @6in. lower than the rt side. They said this had to be done to use the material that I had ordered. Instead of discussing other options to make this job look right, they just followed what was on paper. We all know its good to have a plan. But even good plans change. The eye appeal and look of the structure is just as important as the stability. Keep your options open when searching for companies as such. more

BEWARE!! 10/2/2008

This company is ran by a bunch of car salesmen! Very nice to work with until you choose not to go with them. I did my research with all bids I got. I chose someone else, do to price and refrences. After they found out I did not go with them. ( I dont know how) They tried to under bid. I said no thank you very politely. Then they started with the threats, telling me I didn't do enough research with my choice. Thank you for challenging my intelligence! They also told me they were going to "tell" the city because of no "permit". Little did they know we already schedule a permit to be pulled. Its funny that they said it was up to me if I wanted to get any permits, they dont require them. Don't be fulled by these con artist. They will say anything to get a sale and if they dont get the sale they act like children with the "tattle tail" bit. As a consumer I dont believe in "bashing other companies" to make a sale.
