beautiful artwork sold here too ~ great atmosphere 1/3/2012

I have had dinner here for many years and always have been pleased. Recently I noticed new artwork in the back room so I looked further - wow !!! A local artist is showing original oil paintings in here- so now not only is the dinner experience wonderful but the visual experience is fantastic. I was told the artwork was for sale so my husband and I bought an original piece- what a way to celebrate the holiday !!! I was told there will be more art shows to come with more of this artists work- I will certainly be there !! more

Pampas: high expectations not met. 2/12/2011

Admittedly, I had high expectations, but when you spend $160 on dinner, I think you are entitled to high expectations. The good: we were seated immediately for our Saturday night reservation. The food ingredients were high quality. Ambiance is really nice. Everyone is very professional. The bad: didn't meet our server until 2 tables that came in after us had their wine and had ordered dinner, and that required a trip to the hostess stand. Steak a full temp under-cooked. Lobster was really over-cooked. Dessert came out without our coffee for several minutes. Our biggest grievance was the inattentiveness of our server and the fact that managers knew there were issues but only did the minimum to resolve those issues. more

Pampas Argentine Steakhouse 6/12/2010

My husband and I went there for our 6 Year Anniversary. It was our first time. The reservations were for 8 and we wanted a booth. We got there at 8 and the hostess which was amazing. She told us we had to wait for a booth. We sat at the bar which is beautiful just like the place. Pampas ambiance and the decor is just beautiful. We had drinks and were seated in about 10 minutes and she apologized for the inconvenience....Our waitress was amazing and very sweet. We had the best food and the the wine was fantastic... The piano man was the perfect touch for a romantic night. The dessert was great too. I must say this place is FANTASTIC!!!! I am going back for my birthday in August..... Pros: Fantastic food and service! more

Multiple Bad Experiences 1/14/2010

We have dined here several times with large and small groups, but mostly for business dinners. Service has always been lacking. The last time we dined three members of my team got food poisoning. When a call was placed to the restaurant to let them know they seemed to not care. There are plenty of other places to dine in Alpharetta, Pros: Unique Cons: Service, Food more

Best Steak in Georgia or Anywhere! 12/21/2009

Pampas is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta by far and I will go as far as to say that it is my favorite restaurant all over the world. Pampas is consistently providing amazing food with the best service. The private dining rooms are also great to use for business meetings or parties. I actually had my 21st birthday there! Pampas is not just a steakhouse - there are many pasta, seafood, and poultry options as well. Some menu favorites are the corn and cheese empanadas, the lobster tail appetizer with homemade chips and blue cheese crumbles, the seabass (both styles), the creamed corn, the garlic fries, the sweet potato fries, the asparagus, and the wild mushrooms. My favorite steak to order is the Ladrillo or the Brick - BEST. STEAK. EVER! I also recently ventured to try the Entrana and it was also out of this world. Apart from great food - Pamaps serves wines from all over the world and has an extensive drink menu and full bar. My favorite martini is the Strawberry Lemon Drop and for dessert - the Key Lime Pie Martini is to die for. Don't leave Pampas without trying the dulce de leche crepes - you will not regret it! Pros: Perfect Steaks, Extensive Wine list, Various Menu Options more

Great night 10/5/2009

Not worth the wait 1/21/2008

Don't be surprised if you have to wait 45 min to eat. Food is good, not excellent, but good, and menu is interesting - especially for this area. My issue was with the long wait time from ordering to actually receiving dinner. I have been to Pampas several times, but I will not return. The last 2 visits I have waited over 45 min. - the 1st time took 1.5 hrs.! I would have left, but my parents were in town and we didn't want to make a big deal of it. (Note that neither time was with a large group.) Also, we found that the restaurant manager does not deal well with customer situations, approaching our table with ""Do you have a problem?"" - literally! Rather than being helpful, he was defensive and even seemed to be trying to use intimidation. For the money spent, I would expect better service. Pros: Interesting menu, good piano bar Cons: Long wait, poor management more

Blackened steaks? 8/11/2007

Our waiter was fun and not stuffy. what they call smoking the steak, i call burnt on the outside. i did not cut in the middle of the steak to see that it was cooked as i ordered it and the condisending manager brought that to my attention. I would not eat there again. i have had much better steaks cooked to perfection without being black on the outside. Pros: the waiter was fun. Cons: the steak was black on the outside. more

Pampas = Hidden treasure 11/6/2006

You just MUST go!!!... No one would ever expect this unassuming storefront to house such a wonderful dining experience... The food, the service, the ambience... You won't be sorry! Pros: service, food, ambience Cons: awkward location (parking, dense traffic, etc.) more

Absolutely Wonderful 3/7/2005

Everything was amazing. One of the best dinning experiences I've had. The steaks are incredible!!! The the Brick filet or the Baby Beef. more

best steaks 11/23/2003

My husband took me there on my birthday. We both enjoyed it so much. From salad to dessert and everything in between it was great. He had ""the brick"" steak and said it was the best steak he had ever had. I had the rosemary marinated flank steak and could not believe how tender it was. Another poster said the live music was too loud, but we went on a Monday night so there was no live entertainment. We thought the whole experience was great. Pros: great food, reasonable prices, extensive menu more

Taste Extasy 1/16/2003

Don't miss this place. The portions are huge, the steaks marinated in an Argentinean sauce to die for. The portions are huge. My husband and i ordered a dinner made to serve two and the left overs fed both of us twice at home! My friend had the sea bass which she said was wonderful...i'll say it sure looked wonderful. The wine list is good, the desserts are all absolutely wonderful. The vegetables were al dente and yummy. The live Tango dancers were interesting the first go round but after that i didn't bother watching. The live Brazilian Jazz music was absolutely wonderful and adds a great background setting for this excellent dining experience. Pros: great steaks, great desserts, live jazz Cons: tango dancers, a la carte menu more

Food Yes! Entertainment, NO!! 12/19/2002

The restaurant is very nice on the inside. Nice atmosphere, nice lighting. The service was excellent. The food was delicious. However, I will never return to this restaurant so long as they have live entertainment. It was a guy accompanied by his Karaoke machine. The selection of songs made us feel we were in a Las Vegas lounge or something. The volume was overpowering. You could not carry on a normal conversation. I don't have a problem with live entertainment per se, but, it needs to be in the background. Pros: Food, service Cons: live entertainment, live entertainment, live entertainment more
