Best

Pacha is killin it right now. Hottest international DJ's keep pouring in...I want to take a break but its tough when you see Mark Knight, Avicii, Kaskade, and then Afrojack, Laid...

Worst

The wait t oget in wasn't too bad, there were a ton of people there. I went when cosmic gate was playing. I dont know if the kind of people change depending on whose playing that ...

They'll give you the run around for your money... HORRIBLE! 11/17/2006

I just got back from there and I hated it so much that I had to write a review for people to see. The music was terrible unless you like ONLY trance music. The DJs said that they were going to play HIP HOP at 1 then did not do so when the time came. Bouncers kept telling us the HIP HOP room will be open at 2 or 3. Then someone who works for them said the HIP HOP room is not going to open for the night. It was just very, very confusing and distasteful. The crowd is not as impressive as the others I have seen at other NYC clubs. Drinks are expensive but the bartenders are nice. Once you have a running tab, they'll be even nicer to ya! WINK WINK! Also, don't use any sort of LISTS (Velvet, Premier or others) to get in. It's a dumb idea. You go through so much hassle just to get on some stupid list and they still charge you an arm and a leg to get in. Also, it's free for males before 10:30 but the door didn't open until 10:30PM. SO IF YOU WENT IN THE CLUB ITSELF AT 10:30PM, you were charged money. It was great for the me and my girl-friends because it was free before 11PM for us. Still, the guys were charged money because the door opened at 10:30 instead of 10. It was just ridiculous. SKIP THIS PLACE! VISIT SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY! TRUST ME! Pros: Nothing Cons: EVERYTHING from prices of drinks, music, atmosphere, crowd and decor. more

Great on Thursdays!!!!!! good on Saturday but younger crow. 11/15/2006

When there is a party on Thursdays after work it's a great place to go. Good music, good mixed crow and everyone is there to have a good time EARLY.....since most of us work on Friday! Pros: good music, good space, good crow Cons: it could be really good or really bad, no middle point more

Good sound! 11/11/2006

Since it's all about the music and quality of sound. I think Erick and his investors did it right. They invested in a good sound system and have booked quality people there. I think they are slowly shrugging off the old sound factory rep. The fact they have multi-floors, it's nice to have variety of music throughout the night. Definitely a good place to have a good time once in a while. Pros: Good Sound and Good Music. Cons: Can get pricey more

Exactly what you'd expect 10/20/2006

If you know the name "Pacha" from it's international sisters, then you'll probably love this place. If you've never heard of the name, then this place probably isn't for you and you'll consider it overpriced. It's a trendy semi-mega-club. What they do, they do better than most; but at the end of the day, it's still a corporate chain club, with all the negatives that go with that. more

Disapointment..... 10/10/2006

To many people i was not able to go to the restroom. Seriosly overpriced, this place has nothing to offer for 40$ just to get inside. Croud is very wild. Remind me of China town. Don't even try to have fun if you ever go there. What a waist of money......... more

Great way to top off our night out!!! 9/26/2006

What a great place to end your night (morning). After Cain we went to Pacha around 3:00 and it was still packed with people and great music! What an atomsphere!!! We spent a little while in the basement before we went to the main room and both had fun music and great dancers. Beautiful people all around us. What a great time. We highly recommend this place anytime. John/Kim Pros: Great decor, it was everything I thought a city club would be, great dancers/ good looking people. Cons: Go early!!! more

Birthday BLAST!!! One of the most memorable nights ever 9/26/2006

I had my bday party at Pacha this past wknd with 30 or so of my closest friends and had a blast. We were in Pachita, one of their elite VIP rooms and had an amazing open-bar arrangement. The drinks were great and the music was excellent both our room and the main floor. The service was great, although the bouncers are not the most cooperative at times, but they have good management to handle those situations. The crowd is hot. All in all, the best club in nyc! Hands down!!!!! I will never forget this birthday!! Pros: Great place, music, people. everything. Birthday was one to remember Cons: NONE! more

Sick system. wow. 9/26/2006

Days gone by the Tunnel, Twilo, all these big venues that NYC flocks to, gets a glammed up version at Pacha. Seriously sick sound system, Highs and Lows, great beat & music, & very screened crowd makes this spot the place to bring your out of town friends & get a taste of NY club scene at it's best! People watching at it's best from upper levels, private steamy rooms gets partying @ it's best. For serious clubbers only. See it for yourself more

Being here when the lights turn on would really make me crash 9/20/2006

The massiveness of this club is pretty fun to run around in, and I guess so is its sublime tackiness, but that is its essence: fantastically tacky. Cheap black carpet everywhere and from the ceilings hang dozens of synthetic fabric sheets pulled taut in three directions. These look exactly like giant thongs, especially when you're drunk. Pros: big and funny Cons: a nightmare more

They finally got it right 9/17/2006

When Pacha first opened I was not overly impressed.Something was missing!.... What a turnaround this club has made! I've been back a four or five times this summer and each time its been good. The bouncers are'nt meatheads, the staff is great and the DJ's have been amazing. The club is huge and so diverse that I suggests you walk around and find what you like. I've gone to one part of the club and thought, where did these people come from? only to go to another level and find Nick Lachey and P. Diddy partying.I've been there in jeans and a t-shirt and partied hard. I went with a well dressed group of friends last time, sat at a table and experienced some of the best VIP service I've ever had in the city. Go check it out, whatever your into. Pros: diverse music, something for everyone, good service Cons: takes awhile to find your spot more

It is not the same like in ibiza 9/13/2006

It was easy to get in over the hompage, if you subscribe for the newsletter for the first time! The athmosphere was nice, but it was a little bid to cold. If been there on a saturday and the music in the house/ techno area was so loud, that I could not stay there. The 3 Level on the top was pretty nice on cozy, but here the DJ was too nervous and changed the songs very quickly. Never order I Martini bianco (ordinary liquor) if you know this drink!!! If there is a special event I think it could be really worth to go there. Pros: Decor, Light, People Cons: Too cold, bad sercice! more

Best Place in New York City, HANDS DOWN 9/6/2006

I have been to Pacha on many occasions and have yet to have a "bad experience". The main ingredient for having a dope vibe is the music, and Pacha offers the best DJ lineup in NYC. Week after week Pacha brings in world class talent. The door is easy, dress code is chill, and the VIP staff is top notch. The bouncers are friendly, and not mean as they are at other NYC establishments. (ahem- 27/28th street) The vibe at Pacha is a reminder of how good the scene was back in the mid '90's. Definately check it out. World Class DJs call this place home (Erick Morillo, JP, Danny Tenaglia, Junior Vasquez, Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, DJ Vibe spin and have all spun here, and the list keeps GROWING!) more

I LOVED this place!!! 9/6/2006

Lets see, I read most of the reviews and was a little unsure of my visit, being 35 and not into b&t crew or juice heads also coming from Orlando, FL. When we got to the club we had arranged a VIP table. It was totally worth the money, NO waiting in line and when we got into the club we were escorted to our table which was virtually on the dance floor. The staff even took my friends coat and checked it for her. I recomend the club "a good time was had by all"!!! Even the juiceheads seemed friendly!! Had a blast!!! more

From out of town and my wife and I had a BLAST!!! 9/6/2006

You are going to love Pacha if you like huge clubs that are not pretentious at all, easy to get in and feature good house music. The DJ in the main room gave an excellent house mix, and they had rap in the other room. Drinks were $10 for a mixed tall, water was $5 a bottle. The sound system was INSANE!!!!!!! bass didn't seem to get trapped and rupture ears (like it does in Avalon and crobar at times). The club was packed, everyone danced everywhere. My only wish was that it had a little more seating space, like Sound Factory used to have. Otherwise it was an awesome dance party. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!! more

Couldn't leave... 8/31/2006

I popped in for a few minutes with a group of friends before going to a party....I never got to the party because I could get off the dance floor!! The music was so amazing...Everytime I tried to leave the music pulled me back! Everyone was friendly, attractive and fun. A definite HOT spot! I highly reccommend this venue.... Pros: Great music! Cons: Sore feet from dancing! more

The best night out!!! 8/30/2006

I had the best night out at Pacha! The staff were friendly and HOT! The music was amazing and the crowd really CUTE! I love all the little scenes; the shower lounge and the green room with reflective ceilingsHOT! No place like it ANYWHERE! Love! Love! Love Pacha! You havent lived until you experience this club. Pros: Ambience Cons: Sometimes waiting to get in... more

avoid the after work party 8/30/2006

the afterwork crowd is the type that couldn't get in anywhere else in town but they let them in here. Pros: the dj's are good Cons: the crowd is not very attractive more

Groovy Baby 8/2/2006

I just love the vibe in this place. Once you are in you feel like you've been completely transported somewhere else. Went there after an evening at Penthouse (right nearby) so maybe we were primed to have a good time. Pros: Beautiful People, Dancing Cons: Post-Pacha hangover more

Editorial
  • In Short
What began in Ibiza and blazed through 25 cities worldwide has finally surfaced in Manhattan. The four-floor maze of staircases--decked with palm trees, army-green tarp canopies and mosaic-mirror hand symbols to ward off evil--conjures a mystical temple in the tropics. Go-go girls in bikinis grind against each other in steamy red-lit showers, while clubbers get carnal beside a shattering sound system that blares beats from top international DJs--including part-owner Erick Morillo.
