LOVE THIS FAMILY OWNED RESTAURANT 6/9/2011

This family owned and operated business is the bomb! Ever hungry at 4:00 am? They have the best feta cheese, roma tomatoes & chicken pizza in town. It's only $15.15 for a medium, feeds 3 adults and takes only 15 minutes (if you are picking up). more

Great late night spot and great Greek food! 3/9/2011

Great place for late night eating - good food and great service. The Greek omelet is fantastic! The lamb gyros are also great. The staff is very friendly. Apparently this location and the one on Westheimer had some sort of legal battle and legally are no connected. The Westheimer location has mediocre food and the staff, especially the manager, are rude and often yell at customers. more

Not Impressed 6/24/2010

My wife and I decided m taking a break from Katz's and do somthing different. One's-a-Meal is an institution. How could we wrong? Pros: Decent Portions. Dish serves two. Cons: Food is heavy, greasy, faty, and not particularly good more

Beware Classless Owner that Chases Customers Outside 5/13/2010

I went in to One's a Meal with some friends late one night expecting some reasonable fare and good service. To start, The food took a long time, was served lukewarm, and by await staff so overworked that they were visibly sweating onto the food and guests as they served it! Gross. As it was time to pay, i approached the Greek owner at the cashier to cover the tab and my friends waited right outside in the parking lot next to the vehicle talking. Both of my credit cards were declined. I explained that I only had some of the cash and I would step outside to gather the rest from my friends. He began to give me a suspicious look which made no sense at all. As i was getting the cash together, we all turned around to see the owner standing LESS THAN 5 FEET FROM US By OUR CAR giving us an angry look. I handed him the cash for the bill and said, "" You should know better than to follow a guest outside for any reason."" He promptly replied, "" You should get some decent credit cards !"" and stormed back inside. For anyone that is not aware, one of the MOST important rules of operating a restaurant is to never ever follow guests outside for any reason, whether intoxication, walking the check, regardless of the reason. It is illegal, unsafe, and poor etiquette. The owner has no legal power other than to call the police or walk next door to the HPD station if he feels someone has just walked the check. In all my years as restaurant management student or working in restaurants I have never seen a single action go against all legal, etiquette, and common precautions for restauranteurs. It baffles me that this muppet owner has been around this long and still has no decency, embarrassing patrons by following them outside as they trying to solve a situation. I hope one day One's a meal can provide some real service! Avoid at all costs Houston! Cons: Slow service /refills, unsanitary staff, OWNER CHASES GUESTS more

OOPA! 4/27/2010

must try the appetizer--BOILED OCTOPUS. they were large, thick and juicy. spritz a bit of lemon, and BONA PETIT! their entree dishes were large. i packed 1/2 my shrimp kabob, which was delicious by the way, to go. it's awesome also that it's open 24 hrs for night owls like myself. MUST COME BACK! Pros: crispy bread with marinara, and BOILED OCTOPUS more

We were Robbed! 4/20/2010

My wife and I went into this place to try it out..and I had my 2 small kids with me. Not knowing what was good, and looking over the menu, I asked the nice waiter(I think manager). I said I was trying to eat low fat and so was my wife. He said, ""I will choose for you, and for your wife""...he was thinking fish. The kids, he chose a small pizza. He was such a nice man, we didn't turn his offer down. Well, out comes a egg plant dip, which was ok...then the small pizza came for the kids...my little girl didn't like pepporoni, so he sent out another without asking. This time a cheese just for her...again, nice guy. After a long wait, our dinner's came out. He ordered me salmon, with sides, and my wife got shrimp! ok..it was good....not low fat though and it was $90!!!! ..for a Tuesday night out with the kids! Don't ever trust anyone and definetely don't let these guys order for you ... I was stupid to fall into this trap. I know you guys are laughing at me now ..LOL, but really. I was ripped off! This is not a fine dining place! Pros: Food was ok Cons: Don't be fooled by..""I will take care of you"" more

More than One Meal 3/16/2010

As a native Houstonian, I'm ashamed to say I never went to One's A Meal. Until recently. I'm not a late night person but I they are open 24 hrs for all your late night cravings. I went for lunch. And for $7 I ate for DAYS. I went again and got stuck in a typical Houston down pour ... so I had a glass of wine. It was the perfect lunch. The hot appetizer sampler is enough to feed 2 for 2 full meals. The gyro is the same. And both are mighty tasty. But the reason you go to One's A Meal [outside of the fact it's a Houston tradition] is the owner ... who has come to my table at each visit and made us laugh. It's like eating in an old friend's house but more food and friendlier. Pros: lunch, price, hours more

One's a Meal for Late Night Selection 3/10/2010

My husband and I went here one night after painting our garage for hours on end. We were hungry and wanted different things; he wanted Greek, I wanted Not Greek. We decided to go to One's a Meal since it offers different types of food (Greek and Not Greek, as it happens) and it was open late. Pros: easy to find, variety on the menu Cons: bottled/bagged/frozen items more
