This place is perfection ? 1/26/2007

We dined at One Walnut Restaurant last week and I am not one to post reviews but I had to with this one. We had an incredible experience ? everything was first class. The food was amazing ? the menu is set up in courses so you can enjoy a variety of foods and the serving sizes were perfect per course. We are wine lovers and the wine list was impressive. The service staff was professional, personal and attentive yet not over the top and the atmosphere was cozy and trendy at the same time. The evening was perfect ? I am recommending this place to everyone I know. One Walnut is not to be missed ? definitely the best restaurant I have been to! Pros: EVERYTHING WAS EXCEPTIONAL more

Terrible Service 1/3/2007

Restaurant was very understaffed and disinterested. We waited at the bar and could not get the bartender to wait on us, even though there was hardly anyone there. When she finally did, she wouldn't get us a drink menu because they weren't readily available. The hostess was very rude and we waited nearly an hour despite having a reservation. Our waiter was very unattentive. I expected much better service for the price. Cons: Service more

Best Restaurant for a Special Night Out 12/15/2006

One Walnut is owned by a local husband and wife, who are the most charming people you can imagine. I went with my family to celebrate my father's birthday, and we were all wildly impressed by our meals. My sister and I are vegetarians, and the chef prepared original dishes for each of us that were custom tailored to our food preferences. (4 gourmet vegetarian courses for just $29!; 4 meat courses for $55) The portions are small, but there are a lot of them, so we were all very full and happy by the end. The ambiance is classy and elegant. I highly recommend One Walnut to anyone looking for a special night out. Pros: Delicious, delightful, the vegetarian courses are a bargain! A memorable dining experience. Cons: The meat dishes are a little pricey by Cleveland standards more

Best Location for A Special Evening in Cleveland 11/16/2006

Can't say enough about this restaurant. What a special find in Cleveland. From the moment we were seated, our waitress was extremely attentive and the food was delicious. Even the bathroom was memorable. Strange location, but very nice. Exactly the type of restroom women want. Pros: Service, Food, Ladies Room, the Lobster Nachos! Cons: Expensive more

Great Place for Biz Lunch 11/30/2005

One Walnut is a great location/restaurant for a business lunch, especially if you're on an expense account (with no per diem). more

Although the food is great, the portions are incredibly small. I once ordered a fish lunch special which consisted of a piece of grilled fish that was no more than 2 inches by 5 inches, a tiny pile of scallop potatoes and 5 green beans! Cons: tiny portions more

Great Food 1/19/2005

The food was excellant and the service was great. We had a wonderful evening. Pros: great menu, vallet parking, good value more

Service cold if not on expensive account 6/1/2004

Went here last night for an nice evening out and got ice cold serivce with no warmth or attention because we ordered only small meals. My sense is you only get treated well here if you are spending big on somelse's expensive account. Food spotty, about half the dishes were good and about half were uninspiring. The climtate controls were bitterly cold. If you want good food in a warmer climate (both physically and metaphorically speaking) go to Parkers in Ohio City. Pros: Pretty place, easy evening parking, decent food Cons: , cold service more
