Olena's European Spa & Salon

I wrote a previous review but wasn't formally registered. Then I accidentaially gave a one star review! Oops!! Maybe it will be deleted. Anyway, I was curious too about the laser hair removal and whether this spa was legit, so I went to speak to the manager and get a tour if the facilities. The manager explained in very detailed fashion how the procedure is carriedthe out, what equipmentwas used during the procedure, how long the procedure lasts, and what credentials he and Olena had. I believe they will do a great job. My recommendation is that you go to the facility and find out for yourself if you are suspicious about the reviews. Can't wait to start my laser hair removal procedure! :-) more

I too purchased a coupon for lazer hair removal. I bought this just yesterday and Olena got me in the very same day. I was more than impressed with that alone. I unfortunately bought a Living Social coupon for a different place out in Tigard and it was nothing but a nightmare. This was a breath of fresh air walking into her business. Beautifully decorated, extremely close to where I live and she was very, very nice. I actually liked her and her business so much so..that I bought some additional lazer treatments and I will finish what I started at the ""other"" place out in Tigard that was horrific! more

I bought the groupon for lazer treatments here. After my first appointment I felt confident enough to buy several future treatments as well! I love the quiet beauty in each room. The location is easy to reach and parking is never an issue. The laser therapist was very conscientious. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends!! more

I have been a client of Olena's for 14 years. She is always informed of the latest skin care techniques and various treatments. I have never met an esthetician who keeps up on their education as much as she does. Her spa is beautiful decorated, warm and exceptionally clean. This is probably one of the nicest spas in Portland. I have been there a few times and decided to continue with ongoing services. Where to start - the treatments I received have been delivered in a very professional fashion, and even more important, they really worked well. When I go to a spa I don't normally go just to relax or have a nice time (which is also nice but not the reason I go) but to address something and improve some aspect of health or appearance. Every time I have received services at Olena's spa I saw immediate results. Another important note - the interior of this spa is incredible. It's reminiscent of a 5-Star Hotel or maybe an art museum, but not quite. The interior decorating is perfect, I love the old fashioned but super-sophisticated design of the bathrooms, the art on the walls, the decor. Yes it's true, I don't go to a spa for the decor, but it really is beautiful and just being in the building is alone a pleasurable experience. Olena is highly trained and knowledgeable in her field and also gives excellent and helpful advice. But despite all of this, I have noticed that her prices are generally lower than prices of similar services in other Portland Spas. It makes it much more affordable and feasible to go for treatments, particularly recurring treatments. The treatments I've received include Body Wraps and Laser Genesis. Highly recommended! more

I have only once written one of these before however I could not help but laugh out loud when I read the two recent obvious slams about Olena's Spa that I noticed when referring her to a friend. Both of these people (if in fact they are two different people) have clearly never been there. ""Fake certifications?"" Really? With half a brain you know that would never be allowed. As professional as she is I am sure It is totally untrue to suggest the other classless things that were mentioned. My guess is they are another spa that can't compete with the excellent services and beautiful decor at Olena's. Her clientele is a who's who of some of the areas most successful people who know where to go. From the minute you walk in you feel as though you are in a European castle. Every surface is tile, marble, granite, copper or hardwood, art and sculpture. Absolutely all VERY upscale. This is not some carved out space at a strip mall that still smells like the failed restaurant that was there before it. It is a beautiful stand alone building. Go look for yourself. It costs nothing to step inside and say hello but be prepared to stay because you won't want to leave, and once you do stay, you won't be sorry. So what was a guy doing there in a spa that primarily caters to women? I have lived here all of my life and know a lot of people. This is where the ones I respect said to go. Referrals are everything to me so I took their advice. I had developed spider veins on my face. Suffice it to say a lot of red blotches that really made me look much older than I am. As I mentioned, I had heard that Olena was an absolute artist in the removal of this type of condition and that she had a new state of the art laser machine to work with. I wanted the best especially since this is my face we are talking about and I work in sales so I could not afford to take any chances. I made an appointment and went in for a treatment. She made me comfortable and explained what to expect. She then began to treat me and talked me through it as she went. I was never nervous at all. When she finished she explained what I needed to do for my after care. It is so nice to have people comment on how great I look although no one has figured out why. They just know I look better. Isn't that the sign of excellent work? Give her spa and salon a try. Tell her Dan sent you. It'll make her smile. I used my real name and I am telling the truth. I don't need to hide. For my money, this is the ONLY spa in Portland! Those that know, go here. more

My work brought me to this part of town a few months ago and I discovered this so called SPA by accident. I had a tour to see what it was like inside and I would not call this place a SPA at all! Maybe if you have lived on 82nd area all your life and have not seen any thing better! The staff hardly speaks any english and from the reviews you can tell most of these people can't write either! more

Oh, yes, its hard to get an appointment right away because they are always busy ... but it is worth the wait . more

I?ve been to Olena?s before, for a microdermabrasion facial. First off, scheduling was a nightmare; I could only come in on specific days of the week, but the person who was scheduling me (who turned out to be Olena herself) would NOT listen at all to what I was saying. The facial itself was painful. I don?t have bad skin; I have numerous facialists that I have been to who can testify to that. Olena, however, spent a lot of time telling me how bad my skin was. Her recommendation to me was to cut out ?sweet foods, salty foods, spicy foods, don?t eat too many carbs?, etc. In other words, eat a completely bland diet. After the facial, I checked out her many ?degrees? and certifications on the wall. Most of them came from mail order schools like Stratford, places that are well known as basically degree mills. And to cap it all off? She left grainy particles all over my skin and in my hair, and I started to break out (for the first time in years!) after this treatment. It took my skin a month and a half to calm down. I highly recommend you DO NOT go to this spa for ANYTHING! more

My skin is very sensitive and prone to rosacea and broken capillaries, I was excited to learn about the new laser procedure that Olena is offering right now and went in right away. It's not the most comfortable procedure in the world, but Olena made me feel at ease and the results are so worth it! We zipped away the vessels on my face and my neck/chest area - 15 min later I was on my way home. Highly recommend the procedure and salon as a whole. Olena has been doing my facials for years now, and i could not be any happier with the results. She truly is a professional when it comes to beauty and anti-aging treatments. Most recently, i had the genesis micro dermabrasion facial. The results were immediate! the fine lines and enlarged pores were almost invisible, and there was a dramatic improvement of the tone and texture of my face. My husband noticed the difference without me even saying anything! Another treatment that i am very happy with is the laser hair removal. I have already had a couple treatments done on my underarms and bikini area. The procedure was nearly painless. ( waxing to me is a lot more painful) And the results are great! I am looking forward to finishing my laser hair removal treatments at Olena's. I would recommend Olena's Spa and Salon to anyone who wants the perfect place to relax and unwind from the busy everyday life. more

I found out about Olena's after buying a discount Groupon a couple months ago for a micro-derm abrasion. It was a ways away from where I lived I thought I would have to wait forever to get in, but the receptionist was very helpful and booked me for my 2nd choice in days. The treatment was not quite what I expected. I thought it might be painful, it wasn't. And Olena's hands are so wonderful and skilled when she is applying the lotions and doing the work. And my skin felt so soft the next day, I was happy that I did it. That was a month ago. I did not know at the time I booked my first appointment that they also did Laser treatments. I asked Olena about removing some small veins on my legs that I always disliked. She told me about the procedure, and so I decided to book another appointment. I had them removed about two weeks ago, and now they are completely gone. There was little pain, and a very quick procedure which took just a few days to heal completely. I will be so happy now when I put on my swim suit !! Thank you Olena !!! I am so happy that I found your Spa! more

First came here because it was near my house. But after trying many other facials it is also the best. I get the ***European facial*** (it is the best) and sometimes the microdermabrasion (there is a another place I like better for this service). I love the results and I keep coming back. My skin looks fresh and rejuvenated. I have sensitive skin, but I don?t really have to worry about that here they take care not to irritate. I have come here a few times when my skin was broken out and their treatments helped. more

I have been to Olena's Spa in the past, and had a couple of facials which I was pleased with. So when I found out they had laser vein removal treatments, I thought about some small problem areas I would like treated. So I scheduled a treatment to be done in November. I was told I would have optimal results a few months down the road. Time will tell, but I like the results from the first treatment. Especially the small veins I had removed on my nose and cheek. They are mostly gone in one treatment!! I also had some small red dots, (Hemangiomas ?, I think) removed. It was quick and relatively painless. I've never had great clear skin. But it does look better, removing those small imperfections. more

I have had some age spots on my face for years that I have been very unhappy with. I made an appointment with Olena to have them removed with a laser treatment. The actual treatment was very brief and within a few days the spots were faded considerably. I went in for another treatment to have more removed and another treatment on the first ones. I am very pleased with the results. My face looks clearer and brighter and I don't have to hide the spots anymore with lots of makeup. I would highly recomend Olena for laser treatments. She is very skilled and cares for her customers. more

I was tempted to take advantage of an online deal and try out this salon, but when the majority of positive reviews all sound suspiciously alike (and even share the same misspellings), you can only guess that the salon is promoting itself with fake reviews. more
