Old Towne Bakery

We had an appt with this establishment for a wedding consult. When we first walked in it seemed nostalgic to a degree but no one welcomed us. We pilfered looking untill someone acknowledged us. A red headed lady came out and apologized for the wait and sat down with us. She had a calculator and pad with her but as she tried to seem interested in us she did not look the part, there were many distractions and she had the worst breath in the world We found out the hard way that the cash we had to pay up front (deposit) for our wedding cake and delivery(.NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED) ......... more

This is the WORST bakery I have ever been. The place itself is nasty..dirty floors, shelves..etc. The customer service is poor also. No one has any knowledge about cakes at all and will always suggest leaving a number so the owner can call them back but apparantly the owner only works a few days a week and limited hours at that so you better pray you call at the right time. They messed up a big event for my company only to find out that ,again, the owner wasnt in and no one else knew how to write on a cake! All that we were offered in the end was a husky 'I'm so sorry, Ya'll come back"" I recommend Muddys in Memphis. We have been very pleased with them. \r more

Well, I have been patronizing this establishment for some time now. I usually stop in about once a week and pick up a treat for the family and/or my co-workers. \r And I must say that I have never had a reason to complain about any of the items that I've purchased.\r I've always found both the atmosphere and the staff to be pleasant and attentive. I would have to say that of all of the tasty treats offered, their carmel cake is my personal favorite. If you're looking for consistently high\r quality sweet treats then Old Towne Bakery is the place to go. more

I have taken my 2 year old daughter to Old Towne Bakery twice in the past couple of months following doctor's visits thinking it would be a nice little treat for her.\r \r The first time we visited, the workers were chatting amongst themselves and it took forever to get someone to wait on us. When someone finally came out to help, they looked like they had better things to do than to be bothered with a walk-in customer.\r \r Last week we went back to choose a post-doctor treat. This time, someone came right out and actually halfway paid attention to us, but I still got the sense that she would rather be in the back than waiting on someone who only made a $5 purchase. \r \r My daughter is very well behaved, but she IS 2 and as I was paying, she went over and started to pick up a 6 pack of cupcakes. I was standing right there and immediately caught her and corrected her and the woman who was waiting on us said, "" Yeah, you better put that back because if you open it, your mom will have to pay for it.""\r \r Maybe I am overreacting, but I find that to be EXTREMELY rude. It would have been uncalled for, anyway but especially considering that I was already handling the apparent crisis and not just ignoring my child.\r \r Poor customer service has definitely put me off this place for good. more

I do not recommend Old Town Bakery in Olive Branch. The customer service is very poor and you have to order cakes weeks in advance. They told me they could use my cake pan to make a cake for me and at the very last min. declined it and left me without a cake. I decided to try then again and ran into poor customer service. I tried to order a cake and yet they wanted weeks in advance. I told them I would have to go somewhere else and they didnt like that. I tried to get someone to wait on me to get some cookies before I left the store and couldnt get anyone to wait on me. As I left the woman came out from behind the counter and stared at me as I was leaving. Do not recommend. I recommend The Cake Lady in Southaven more

I have ordered cakes from Old Towne Bakery since they opened. I have always received excellent service and the cakes have always been wonderful. Today I tried to order a birthday cake for my child's party only to find that my order was refused because, ""they are booked through next weekend."" Today being Wednesday, I really do not understand how a bakery can be booked for the next week and a half! If you want to order from this bakery be sure to do so at least 2 - 3 weeks prior to the event. If not, you'll be searching for an alternative just as I am. more
