John, we are one of their vendors and they have not paid us 5 old invoices yet for a long time. Every time we call them, they always have a different story not paying us. I am taking a legal action against them now. Can I have your contact information? We should work together. more

On September 3 2013 I gave a $13,765.00 deposit to Old City Design Center for cabinets, tile, granite counter tops & installation. I stopped in the showroom at least once a week to get an order confirmation or shipping date. I was always told that Mr Hersey is the only one that can talk to the company about ship dates & that he would get back to me tomorrow. Well I never received so much as a e-mail from him. I talked to him once in the showroom & he said he would have that information for me the next day. Nada! The man is a smooth liar. Today I received a call from my contractor about the cabinets. A former employee at Old City Design called him & told him that the cabinets had not been ordered. He quit because his paychecks were bouncing & he didn't want to lie to all of the customers coming in asking about their cabinets. I was given the contact information for Waypoint Cabinets & the PO number for my order, I called & sure enough the representative from the company said that the cabinets were not in process & not being built. The order had never been confirmed & they were waiting on payment. Went to see the crook Rick Hersey today & confront him about what I found out. He said they were ordered & he could find out a ship date. After sitting in his office for about a a little while & he conveniently couldn't find my file, I asked him to call the company & just verify the order in my presence. He couldn't even do that. I asked for a refund & he obviously didn't have the money. I told him I was going to call the sheriffs office & he said OK, go ahead & call. They will just tell you that it is a civil matter. Rick Hersey has obviously pulled the scam a few times & knows the system well because that is what the officer said. As I was leaving Rick ""the crook"" Hersey said he would be in touch with me. It may be a civil matter with me individually, but if there are 16 other people in my same situation, that seems to me like a pretty big fraud case. One man had put down a $30K deposit for a kitchen & a bath & is now coming up on three months with no cabinets & no explanation. I knew one womans name on the list I saw & she is a poor 80 year senior that doesnt have a lot of money. I hope that all the victims can coordinate & we can get the states attorney's office to investigate this crook. I'm sure he'll close the St Augustine business & find other victims. But wherever this crook goes, I will be there to make you life miserable & do my best to make sure you end up in prison or that the public knows what a crook you are. God has a special place for POSs like you. more

I am in love with my new kitchen! The people here were just awesome. I had no problems with them at all. The quality of work was very good. I am so thankful we have a business like this in our town,I like to buy locally. Good people and the owner was a joy to work with as well. more

Stay away from this business the Owner has been arrested twice once in Saint Augustine on FRAUD and bad checks and in Jacksonville for bad checks and probation violation more

Used them for condo renovation.The worst contractor we have ever used. 2 -3 week job took over 4 month. Sold us bathroom wall tiles, that turned out to be cut up floor tiles, with very sharp cut edges. Some floor tile so poorly installed it had to be taken up. Very disorganized, many mistakes made. During demolition trashed some fixtures that were to be saved. We had to oversee the work ourselves to get some quality of work and attention to detail. Would NEVER use them again more

I recently had my kitchen, master bathroom and wood floors done by old city design center. I had an excellent experience. The job, although quite big, was done in a timely manner and the project manager oversaw my project to make sure it was done with ease and on time. I have recommended this company to friends and family and would definitely use them again! By the way, thank you Old City for my WONDERFUL and BEAUTIFUL upgrades! Everything is so lovely! more

Buyer beware! Dealing with the company was the worst experience I ever had. Project Manager, Ron, does not help you at all with your issues. In fact, he never takes your phone calls. They contract out the work to contractors who show up when they want and leave when they want. Every day someone new shows up. We were told our tile replacement would take 3 days. It is now day 7 and no contractors at the house. They ""forgot"". Please save yourself some grief. Go to a reputable and professional company. more
