On September 3 2013 I gave a $13,765.00 deposit to Old City Design Center for cabinets, tile, granite counter tops & installation. I stopped in the showroom at least once a week to get an order confirmation or shipping date. I was always told that Mr Hersey is the only one that can talk to the company about ship dates & that he would get back to me tomorrow. Well I never received so much as a e-mail from him. I talked to him once in the showroom & he said he would have that information for me the next day. Nada! The man is a smooth liar. Today I received a call from my contractor about the cabinets. A former employee at Old City Design called him & told him that the cabinets had not been ordered. He quit because his paychecks were bouncing & he didn't want to lie to all of the customers coming in asking about their cabinets. I was given the contact information for Waypoint Cabinets & the PO number for my order, I called & sure enough the representative from the company said that the cabinets were not in process & not being built. The order had never been confirmed & they were waiting on payment. Went to see the crook Rick Hersey today & confront him about what I found out. He said they were ordered & he could find out a ship date. After sitting in his office for about a a little while & he conveniently couldn't find my file, I asked him to call the company & just verify the order in my presence. He couldn't even do that. I asked for a refund & he obviously didn't have the money. I told him I was going to call the sheriffs office & he said OK, go ahead & call. They will just tell you that it is a civil matter. Rick Hersey has obviously pulled the scam a few times & knows the system well because that is what the officer said. As I was leaving Rick ""the crook"" Hersey said he would be in touch with me. It may be a civil matter with me individually, but if there are 16 other people in my same situation, that seems to me like a pretty big fraud case. One man had put down a $30K deposit for a kitchen & a bath & is now coming up on three months with no cabinets & no explanation. I knew one womans name on the list I saw & she is a poor 80 year senior that doesnt have a lot of money. I hope that all the victims can coordinate & we can get the states attorney's office to investigate this crook. I'm sure he'll close the St Augustine business & find other victims. But wherever this crook goes, I will be there to make you life miserable & do my best to make sure you end up in prison or that the public knows what a crook you are. God has a special place for POSs like you.
