I just moved to Brooklyn and I was desperately looking for a good place to get a brazilian. I was really nervous bc i've heard about all the bad experiences people have had going to random places so I was asking around and my friend told me she goes to O Spa. So I went and tried it out and I couldn't imagine going ANYWHERE else to get a brazilian wax! The technician who waxed me was so sweet and was actually really cool to talk to during the whole thing. The wax hardly hurts at all at least compared to other places and it was so quick! I was in and out in 25-30 min. and the wax job was great..I highly reccomend to go here if you're looking for a quick and comfortable wax :)) Pros: great wax job--really professional staff more

I went to O Spa for the seaweed facial treatment and it was amazing. My pores are much cleaner and smaller and my skin looks much clearer and brighter. I love it. The esthetician was very knowledgeable and would take the time to answer any questions. I already told 2 of my girlfriends who always complained their skin to go to O Spa for facial. I was given a gift certificate by my best friend as I've been so stressed out at work. I decided to try the deep tissue massage. When I walked in I was instantly greeted and given a cup of flower tea. The waiting area was beautiful. I waited about 4 - 5 minutes. My therapist took me downstairs. My massage was exactly what I needed, strong but not rough, and relaxing. I especially enjoyed having my neck and lower back worked on. The pressure was exactly right and I will try to go back for another one as my schedule allows. I added a waxing service. I won't go into details, but it was quick and painless which is exactly what you want during that type of service! The checkout was fairly quick, no complaints. Yesterday my girlfriend and I went to the spa to get a deep tissue massage and seaweed facial. I booked a deep tissue and the massage that we were given was so DULL. As Spanistas - we were totally dissapointed. I repeatedly had to ask for more pressure - then had to question "is this a deep tissue?" Once I asked that question I was told that I had to tell her - she only diid the deep tissue on my back then went back into the DULL massage on my legs and arms. Both my friend and I agreed that we were NOT satisfied with the massage as no EFFORT or pressure added to address tightness in our bodies. The facial experience was BETTER than the massage as our skin was VERY SOFT. With the facial - I was not given any explanation as to what was being done next nor what was put on my face. There was no communication except for r u ok? It is a really nice Boutique spa - but the Therapists need more training on spa etiquette and massage techniques. I felt the staff was inexperienced and immature in the spa field. Based on the last review that I see here - I don't know why we were treated so differently - we did not feel the connection with the Massage at all. I am led to believe maybe the service we got was on the low end due to the spa week special we took advantage of or maybe the great Therapists had already gone home as it was a late evening appointment. i looked everywhere to find a good place to get massages. i am a therapist myself so i know instantly when the person applies massage oil on my back i knew if he/she is a good therapist. few of my friends went to o spa for massages before and told me that they were pretty good so i decided to give it a try. I had a female therapist and (i forgot her name, i think it was Wendy, but anyway) she speaks perfect english and very nice. she gave me the best massage i've ever had. she applied the perfect pressure on every point of the body and when the massage was finished i felt 10 lbs lighter which means it was so good to the point that i felt like i am off the ground... i would go back to look for her again and tell all my friends to go and look for her too.... my boyfriend has been a client of O Spa for a couple of years now and has been trying to get me to switch where i go for my salon services.I AM VERY PICKY. Last week he surprised me with a couples massage at O Spa. why did it TAKE ME SOOOOOO LONG to go there? From the time I entered the place, i felt GREAT things were going to happen. The staff at the front desk was really helpful and made me feel comfortable from the moment i walked in! The room was beautiful and relaxing next, ... the message. WOW, best ever!!! The massage therapist was so wise when it came to all the parts of the body. I was very relaxed and at one point i even went to sleep because it felt so good! Now, it looks like my boyfriend got his wish, I AM HOOKED and cant wait to have another couples massage there! if you are looking for a clean, simple, YET amazing spa, this is the place. I have gone to O Spa several times for facials and waxing before and I just recently decided to get the AgeLOC treatment done after the esthetician showed me the clinical studies. The results were amazing and much more than I expected. The wrinkles on my face that used to stand out before are now barely even noticeable and making my face look much younger and smoother. Another reason I found this treatment to be so great is because it lasts much longer than collagen treatments. After the AgeLOC treatment, my face looks and feels great, I would recommend this to anyone who wants their face and skin to look a few years younger. I like the treatment so much that I bought 10. I decided to schedule the couples massage as a birthday treat for myself and my boyfriend. They were very accomodative eventhough we arrived half hour late. We were offered flower tea before we were taken to our room. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making sure that we were comfortable the whole time. The couples room was beautiful. The music was very soothing and relaxing. My masseuse was absolutely amazing. She used the right amount of pressure and even gave me a face and scalp massage which is often neglected at other spas. She took her time and didn't rush. This was honestly the best massage I have ever had in my life. My boyfriend needed a strong massage and he got exactly that from his masseuse. It was a great escape from the hectic city life. We liked this place so much that we booked another couples massage on the Valentine's Day before we left. I am not a frequent spa goer because I am pretty picky about cleanness and level of services. I only willing to go to resort spas and that sometimes disappoint me. However, my girlfriend invited me to O Spa for a couples massage for my birthday. We were taken into a nicely decorated couples room. Two massage therapists served us side by side. I have to say, my therapist really had magic hands. After the massage, I seriously feel much younger and better. Lisa felt the same way too. In addition, this place is very clean and the staffs are definitely highly trained. This will be a frequent place for me to visit from now on for sure. I've been going to O spa for the past 6 months now and I'm addicted. I agree with the other reviewer who said they don't ever seem to be in a rush and they are very extensive in their services. My boyfriend John and I went there and it was a very relaxing experience for the both of us. I didn't think it would be as romantic as it was ! They light candles, play relaxing music. The massage therapists were really nice and talked to us before the massage to take time to understand what we both wanted from the massage. The hour actually went by slow and I didn't feel like they were rushing or leaving anything out. John and I have been in many spas for massages and we like this place the most. I had a brazilian wax with Ada today and was very pleasantly surprised. I used to go to spas in Manhattan for my brazilians but was looking for a more local place to go here in Bay Ridge. The first thing of note is that O Spa is a beautiful & relaxing spa environment; the decor is lovely. Most importantly the wax itself was super duper fast, sanitary and well executed. Ada was EXTREMELY thorough (she didn't miss a spot) and conscious of making it as painless as possible. I highly recommend her. In addition it is about half the cost of what I paid in Manhattan for a much nicer experience overall and a comparably excellent service. I went here for a swedish massage twice and loved it, I had two different girls kathy one time and Ada another, they were both great. and speak the best english there. They applied good pressure not too strong and not too light. Ada has a lighter touch but was great if you like more pressure Ada is excellent. but I'm a licensed esthetician so i wouldnt get a facial there only because they dont seem licensed, every girl that works there does everything from nails, facials to massages. and the steam shower is only for one person. but this is a nice place for a couples massage and a body treatment.! I recently visited my accountant's office in Bay Ridge and they recommended O Spa to me when I mentioned I could use a little pampering. I was so pleased with my services. I felt right at home from the moment I walked through the door and when I was taken to wait for my services I was not expecting to see such a beautiful spa right in the heart of Brooklyn. My massage relaxed me and my facial put me right over the top, if it was up to me I never would have left. I will definitely make O Spa a regular stop whenever I am remotely near Bay Ridge. I have been to O Spa once and I will definitely be going back. I got a brazilian bilkini wax and it was actually the least painful one I have ever gotten ! I recently received a gift certificate for a massage at O Spa in Bay Ridge. I was told to see Kathy. She must have magic hands that my back pain was totally gone. If you are overworked or simply like to pamper yourself, go see Kathy at O Spa. The spa was clean, the atmosphere was comfortable, the Sauna was awesome. I decided to get my best friend a gift for her birthday so I took her to this awful place. While waiting I figured why not get a massage as well to check out the services, since I do enjoy a good massage once in a while. The levels of unprofessional employees at this place it shooting through the roof. It seems as though none of the massage therapists are licensed to say the least. The employees there barely speak any English, which made it very hard to communicate exactly how I wanted my massage; they just kept nodding their head and doing as they wanted with my back. Each person has a preference with their back, for example I have a very sensitive back and spinal area, so I prefer a lighter pressure massage. Every professional massage therapist is supposed to feel the kinks or the areas to avoid on someone's back. Oh no not this place. I positioned myself onto my stomach; face down, when the therapist proceeded to push down quite roughly in three different places on my back without asking my permission of such an act. Not everyone can handle that pressure. Afterward she continued on giving me a very rough massage, when I repeatedly asked her not to. After the whole miserable experience, I went home and started feeling very lousy. I woke up the next morning and I could barely walk. The pain in my pack was getting worse as the days went by. I proceeded to see an orthopedist, and he recommended for me to get an MRI. I felt in my heart I knew that therapist had truly done something horrible to my back. When I got my results back I was right. I had a disk bulge in my lower back. I cannot explain to you how horrible the pain is. I now have to go through physical therapy and treatments for a long time. I am also considering suing the place. DO NOT GO HERE TAKE IT FROM ME AND MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. My Husband gave me the the expensive package they have plus a pedicure and manicure, and i also paid for the brazilian wax for Valentines Day 2/14/08. They are very friendly. The rock massage was the best ever i just felt all my stress melting away. Then the sea salt scrub felt so good. Put it this way everything was PERFECTO. The Spa is very cozy and cute. I got the gift certificate from my sister. I decided to use it for a facial. I went there and was greeted by the friendly staff. The esthetician did a skin analysis for me and suggested the Acne Facial. That was exactly what I want. She explained to me the entire procedure in great details. I felt my skin a lot smoother after the facial. She also spent time to teach me how to clean my face in the morning and before bed time. She even explained how eating habit could affect my skin. I've been visiting dermatologist for my acne problem but it did not do much. I am going back for my follow up treatment in 2 weeks. The Acne Facial really worked.
