America is a BEAST at what she does! Especially on guys haircuts; nails it every time...The only reason why i still go to VC. Not once have i left disappointed. LOVE THIS GIRL! engaging with her clients is what she does best and thats what brings me back! Very fun,social and awesome person! I Always have people complementing on my haircuts. America is the greatest! I took my son to America at Invisible Changes North Star Mall. I was very impressed with his hair cut. I always had trouble with other hairstylist. They would say my son had tough hair to cut and would leave my son unsatified. All I had to do is show her a pic of the hair cut and walla! It was done. Now America is our family hairstylist. America is a miracle worker! I come in with an over grown mess and she always leaves it sleek and stylish. She gives great maintenance advice and is always sure to ask me if everything is just the way I want it. Not one complaint other than missing her on her off days or when she is booked. Kimberly is the best!!! I went to a ""salon"" a year ago and they messed my hair up, when I came to visible changes Kimberly cut my hair and fixed it!! Since then, I go to visible changes to get my hair cuts with Kimberly and I would never go any where else, the staff is friendly and they r very professionals and when it comes to get my hair done Kimberly is my girl!! more

Having lived in San Antonio for over eight years I've had the opportunity to try out several salons/stylists/colorists...but the quality of cut and style that Kim provides at Visible Changes North Star is unmatched:) She always listens to what I'm trying to accoplish with my hair and I've been completely satisfied with her results for over a year now. This girl is quality and very professional...I'd recommend her to anyone who wants a great blowout, fun hairstyle or just something new:) more

I have never found a stylist as awesome as Val. She has been doing my daughters hair for the past year and there isn't anyone else I would take her to. My daughter has brought in pictures of anime character hair styles and cos play wigs for Val to use as a reference for the cut she wants. Val never hesitates to go for it! Not only does Val go for it, the cut has always been awesome.....I have never met a stylist that would dare to take the chance on the cuts Val has given my daughter, nor been so accommodating. Thanks Val, your're the BEST! more

Horrible Shopping Experience 2/6/2012

ALL SAN ANTONIO SHOPPERS TAKE HEED AND READ THIS REVIEW - Do not go to shop at North Star Mall unless you want to be acosted or mugged. It is a haven for gang vilolence, theft and loitering of undesireables. Ignore all the old reviews you have read so far as they do not give the true picture of what the mall has become. Security is lax or nonexistent so if you value your life do not go unarmed or without a body guard. I am serious !! This is for your own protection. This review may sound a little harsh but I want people to take notice and do something to clean this place up or it will end up being torn down just like Windsor Parl Mall. The signs have already begun as most of the big name department stores have moved out being replaced by smaller less known ethnic stores. Take a walk through the mall if you dare and witness everything I have written about so far. 12 year old kids hanging out smoking with no supervision, kids stealing items off the shelves right in front of you while the store employees do nothing about it and hooded thugs hanging out in large groups outside the entrances challenging other groups of kids to confrontations. In addition the constant appearance of San Antonio Police cars driving up to different entrances of the only affirms the trouble happening daily. Avoid the later hours as the thugs prefer to come out and loiter during this time just like vampires seeking out their unsuspecting victims. Take your shopping dollars elsewhere and do not go to North Star Mall unless you want those shopping dollars to end up in a thief's pocket. Visitors to our fair city should really take heed and avoid this mall if at all possible as it gives a bad picture of what to expect when visiting San Antonio.\r \r more

Amazing service & cut! 12/5/2011

I rarely get a hair cut- not because I don't want to, but because I Hate for people to touch my hair. I came in looking like shaggy from scooby doo- and left feeling and looking like a new person. Not only was the staff very friendly, my hair stylist- Joe L. - treated us with generous Hospitality. I was sweating of fear that my hair was going to be mowed off- But- he truly made me feel Relaxed. After about 41/2 years of searching after moving to San Antonio, I have found my place of hair worship... lol Thanks!!! more

I've been a customer for some 15 years at Visible Changes at North Star Mall, and I've always had the pleasure of being served by some very talented hair stylists. Over the years, it's become less about styling my long flowing mane and more about keeping me cleaned up around the ears and collar. My current stylist Melissa Ann is truly a competent and confident professional, who approaches my every visit as another opportunity to improve on her previously exelllent service. A stickler for detail, Melissa Ann purposely and deliberately approaches my haircut and style as a singular moment that deserves her every attention. Always upbeat and attentive, Melissa Ann proceeds on a pace that is respectful of my time, but never rushed. She makes me feel that I'm the most important person in her seat for the duration of my appointment. If you are searching for a great haircutter/stylist who is worth every penny, and then some, look no further than Melissa Ann. more

Tina I love you!!! Visible Changes North Star Mall 8/16/2011

I have been going to Visible Changes for over 10 years...I love love love love this place, my hair color director I am not sure of her title All I know is that she is the best..I have gone from a brunette to a blonde (not all in one step) but I Always look amazing and if I bring a picture of the color I want she will get it precisely right. She always make you feel at home and she is very knowledgeable about every single product I always buy the products she recommends and she always recommends the best whether I need more volume or I want my hair wavy or if I want it silky straight. Anyone who wants to change the color of their hair needs to go see her like yesterday I give you my word you won't be disappointed. And for a hair cut you have to go see Albert or Jackie (Jackie is at La Canter now) but both Jackie and Albert will make you gorgeous.. One day I had to go to Toni and Guy because I needed my hair done that day and VC didn't have any appointments so I reluctantly went to this god awful place and I asked for Kim Kardashian curls for my bachlorette party and I came out looking like Screech from Saved by the Bell. It was horrible I was so upset, I had three other occurrences with that place with different friends of mine and well I just wish I would have taken a picture so you all could see the disaster that Toni and Guy did. Anyway enough about them. Everyone needs to go to visible changes, now understand that their prices are a little high but it is worth every penny I promise.. The best hairdresser ever 7/20/2011

Shelly Larsen, an art director is truly a hair artist. She takes her time to get to know your hair and is extremely knowledgeable on how to get the results you want from your hair type, something that not alot of other stylists have mastered. I went to her for two years and took my daughter there to fix a bad hair cut. She fixed my daughter's hair beautifully, restoring her self confidence. I was very sad to move away from the San Antonio area and will still go to get my hair cut there whenever I get a chance to visit. more

Tina does amazing colour! 7/6/2011

Once i was lucky enough to discover Tina and her talents, I could rest. I have lived in San antonio, for 6 years and she is THE only one i can trust with my hair. Not only does she get my color spot on, its healthier than its ever been. I'm blonde and have had to sacrifice my hair, to other places where it got burned or turned yellow. Not with Tina, i love her, and every single person at this salon is professional. I highly recommend this location, you won't be dissapointed. Thanks Tina. more

Great Stylists, Coloring, and Service 7/6/2011

I'd first off like to say that I never give any place five stars just because I think there is always something everyone can work harder for. I went to Visible Changes last night for a last minute hair cut. They were very accomodating to my schedule and squeezed me in late in the evening. One thing I appreciate about VC is that they train their staff very well. Even the entry level stylists/colorists are very knowledgeable and do a great job. I had Analisa highlight my hair and she did an absolutely fantastic job. She blended the highlights really well to where it looks like my natural hair color. I highly recommend going to her for highlights/color. She was very friendly and easy to talk to however she didn't talk the whole time (which many beauticians tend to do). Next, I had my hair cut by Allan. He did a great job as well and was very thorough. I could tell he was kind of new just because he was a little timid but I think he was great and with time he'll become more comfortable. He cut my hair in a timely manner and did a great job and more importantly he didn't try to do some weird style to my hair. Overall VC has always done a great job with my hair. They always listen to what I want and what I request. I mean come on you have to admit when you go to a salon you want the entire experience to be about you and how the particular cut/style makes you feel. Thanks VC for nailing it. more
