As a veteran ""Haunter,"" I've planned, executed, and acted in haunted attractions. The Nightmare on 13th is probably the lowest on my list. The price did NOT justify the scare level (which was advertised as having national rankings) and you exited feeling rather shorted. Granted, the special effects are some of the most impressive I've ever seen (including the best pre-show, which would have been much better as an end show), robotic actors simply aren't able to customize the scare experience for each group. There were far too few live actors and those they had were subpar on their energy levels and kept getting out of character. My harshest criticism would be the management of the lines. Yes, they were able to move people through quickly, but because of this, it became just a perpetual line throughout the haunted house with virtually no space between groups. The few scares they had were ruined because everyone could see and hear what was coming up. Pros: Some Great FX, fantastic Pre-show Cons: Low actor energy, too few actors, price more

II've been to haunted houses where the actors grab you. This one doesn't. Their actors have been trained to be scary but with hands off. That is a plus! They have set it up to be fantastically entertaining but also you feel it is a safe environment for your family. The dynamics that have been put into this is amazing! Have never seen any haunted house so well planned! It is a great show from outside by the line! If you want a great time for any family or group.... THIS IS IT!! Even going by yourself is a fun experience where everyone is relating to the same experience! Don't miss it! This is the best year yet and we have gone every year for the past 20 years. These guys are professionalism at its best!!!! Pros: None of the actors touch you.... that is cool! Cons: None. Fantastic show! more

We have taken our family to this entertainment spot of Utah for almost 20 years! We start looking forward to going months in advance! These guys must work all year to be able to put on such a great show! Great entertainment! Our neighborhood has become a neighborhood of Nightmare on 13th fans! If you are big ole wimps..... go anyway..... you need to go and have the wimpiness scared out of you!! Besides, everybody likes a good scare at Halloween, right? Pros: I heard this is rated the best haunted house in the U.S. Cons: Drawbacks? Are you kidding? more

This is THE best haunted house i have ever been to hands down! We got in fast and the entertainment was sooo sweet! we first walked through this room selling t-shirts, they are legit...so i had to buy one, it was only 15 bucks! and then we went into the theatre and oh my gosh this has changed so much from last year and years past, it is probably the best i've ever seen it this year! The spinning room is a classic that i completely LOVE, and now they have new surprises around literally every corner, and the actors were dusgusting and crazy! wow. The haunted house itself was AMAZING to say the least! The 20th season is this year and the changes they made are incredible! A TON of work was put in this year and it definitely shows! I got so scared i think i peed my pants a little bit! haha and right as soon as i thought i was done, the Xtreme came up! oh man, the XTREME! the title says it all! i wasn't going to do it because in years past it's been pretty lame and i didn't like it all that much...but oh my gosh! this year holy renovation! it's only 5 bucks more and wow was it worth it this year! they changes i would say over half of it! sooo intense! i didn't even recognize it as the xtreme it's so changed! wow, there's a maze that the floor moves, and the MAGGOT room is psycho! Holy Amazing! so i give this haunted house 5 stars, if i could i would give it 10! it's just that good! I would definitely say there was a reason it was rated #1 in America! So go here and you for sure won't be disappointed, make sure to get the xtreme, you won't regret it! I LOVE NIGHTMARE ON 13TH!!! Pros: Everything, amazing service, very nice people, SCARY! This show was fantasitic!! I went with my wife and a few other couples friends and we all had a blast!! We have gone to shows each year all over the state and this is one of our favorites!! My husband and I along with my son and his 6 friends visited this hunted house over the weekend, and we ALL had a wonderful time. It was exciting to see my teenage son get spooked, and all the way home, him and his friends were commenting on how much fun they all had. It takes a lot to keep 7 teenage boys happy, and mine sure were. Can't wait to go again. Pros: VERY PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES more

I have been to haunted houses all of my life and this one continues to be the best, year after year. I just dont understand how anyone could think this experience is anything but terrifyingly fun. Pros: Very realistic Cons: can't think of any more

I disagree with the negative comments on this site. This place ROCKS! Anyone who cannot appreciate how good this is must be blind or have some kind of personal agenda. From the opening in the Terror Theatre to the Extreme Scare the scares never stop. The actors just keep it coming. If you don't like to be scared let me recommend a Corn Maze but for those who are looking for what a Haunted House should be this is it. Pros: Cannot beat this Scare......Awesome Cons: Parking is tough on weekends but worth it. more

The LINE... is a Theatre room and while you wait, you are entertained I thought that was GREAT! Thats all I will say about that cause I don't want to give anything away. They put as much time and effort into the Theatre room as they did everything else. It was so much fun. The actual haunted house was a blast and not like most other haunted houses where you have dumb actors just standing around with fake chainsaws. They had big mechanical attractions and Scary themed rooms loaded with actors. Their actors are like no other, they stayed in character the whole time and they could really act. We paid Extra to go through the Extreme part and it was well worth the money. I had so much fun there I can't wait til next year, Infact I may have to come back this year!!! Pros: full fo Excitement the entire time Cons: I would not recommend this for Children more

Scared the pants off me, and my teens loved it! They wanted to go again as soon as we exited. Definitely worth the money. You won't be disappointed! One more thing, you go to a Haunted House to get scared so when you bring your children don't complain when they actually get scared. Pros: Very Peofessionally done. more

I don't usualy write bad thing but this show was very poorley done, They are suppose to be vetrans but they produced there show very badly. my kids were very unhappy, they did not have fun and the lines were to long and the show to short. Pros: parking Cons: there show more

Nightmare on 13th is supost to have some great attractions. that is not entirely true. Pros: Big. Very big. you will spend alot of time in here. Cons: not scary, and needs more imagination. more

It wasn't scary, it wasn't funny either. It was just a big waste of time and money. Your average grade school kids could put together a more entertaining haunted house than this. more

I know this is not a discussion forum, but I haven?t found closure.I take great offense at everyone that seems to have this ""my daughter is a cry-baby"" attitude.My daughter grew up around haunted houses and has never had an experience such as the one she had at ""Nightmare on 13th.""The bellhop tore into her like a drill sergeant with a new recruit, telling her that he'd show her what Hell was and that he'd been through worse than any of us ever had been and I think he was high or drunk..As for us being ""uptight parents,"" as one of the reviews quoted, nothing could be farther from the truth.I?m a very lenient, tattooed, pierced witch.Put that in your pipe and smoke it boys!The man we complained to was probably a security guard sent to pacify us.And they were too terrified and unprofessional enough to return phone calls or email.A refund would have been nice.Why is everyone demonizing my child when she is the victim? Some people in this state must lead a really sheltered life if they consider this a fun haunted house... I've been in haunted houses from San Francisco to New Orleans, this little Slat Lake haunted house was very disappointing. more

The staff should not be picking on kids like that. I wouldn?t consider that 13 year old a ?cry baby?. The bellhop got all in her face and started yelling at her for no reason. He wouldn?t stop when he saw the little girl crying and her parents told him to stop and he didn?t. Nightmare on 13th is supposed to have a staff that does their job right just like any other haunted house. They are supposed to jump out at you and say boo than move on to the next person, not sit there and torment little girls. And what the H is up with all those shower curtains? They have way too many rooms with clowns. 1 or 2 is plenty but they have 5 or 6. And what the H is in that water they spray on us? It stinks like mildew and who knows what kind of germs, diseases, bacteria, and other $*** is crawling around in it. Pros: Not a single pro comes to my mind about that haunted house Cons: Too many clowns, stinky mildewy bacteria filled water, no emergency exits, rude staff, and just about everything else in this haunted house reeks!!!!! more
