I don't understand why NextGen received such negative reviews. The sales representative's that assisted me, were honest and knew what services they were providing in detail. I have been a customer for several years and I have never had an issue with their billing or customer service. I have several lines for my pediatric clinic and I have saved a substantial amount of savings a year with them. As far as customer service no complaints here. Take it from the doctor I am a satisfied customer and so will others! In my opinion perhaps the negative reviews are from Verizon sales reps who are ashamed that their company can not provide the discounts or are willing to offer the low rates that NextGen does... Shame on you.... Pros: Excellent customer service , great savings! Cons: Savings are only for business not residential :/ more

Never Use Next Gen Telephone Company. Worst customer Service and Worst Billing Department. They are sending Verizon tech to fix the problem and charge $125 with out knowing the Customer. They want to go to Court regarding that charges. Collection Agency and Court Letter. Never Switch over to Cheap company. Even they give you cheaper rate. Next Gen Billing Department Employee is shouting oveer the phone . He do not want to talk with me regadrding Billing. Lady at Nextgen Billing Department Hangs up the phone saying no more to talk..... TOTAL SCAM - REPORT TO FCC 1/21/2009

Same as all 1-star ratings above, don't trust this company. They ""slam"" you, steal your business by telling people they're a parter company of Verizon, so you trust them but they're a dead competitor stealing your business. Totally misleading. The bills are NOT lower than verizon, and they do LIE and tell you they handle verizon billing as a separate company, but you'll have lower than verizon rates. Not true. When you call to tell them you to complain that you've been switched w/out authorization, they tell you ""yes you did authorize"" and replay back the recording confirming your switch. What they don't acknowledge are the lies the sales rep told you to agree to the recording. Check with FCC, it's called 'slamming.' And yeah, if you tell them you don't want to pay the bill or want a reduction, they tell you they'll take you to collections. Whatever, scare tactics. Don't trust an unethical company that will LIE for your business. One can only imagine what else they might do. Pros: Great liars if you are looking for one. Cons: Rude rep when you call, on hold forever, unethical, slamming. more

This is really shocking to me reading this blog here, i've been using nextgen fron last few months here and to me what they promised me i'm getting it. I have two lines in my business and i was paying appox $600 every month for my two lines & Internet. I gotta call from Nextgen and they suggested me change the calling plans on my phone lines according to my usage and they suggested me to convert my Dial-up internet to DSL and i did and now my phone bill is only $92 plus Internet charges what i have taken from Optimum Online. They really provided me good services if i compare. I'm really happy using Nextgen. more

Do Not Switch !!! Bad Service 5/22/2008

NextGen Telephone is customer UNfriendly. They promise that everything will remain the same, that they are sellers of Verizon. I lost my internet service for 3 days, service did not remain the same and there was no discount. I returned to Verizon, I did pay NextGen for one month service. Then they billed me $29.12 for a partial month. I called to complain about their service, explained why I cancelled and to ask them to waive the mere $29.12 considering all they have cost me, well the sale rep nearly ripped my head off. This guy was nasty, and tried to apply the old ""I'm sending you to the collection agency, ruin your credit"" speech. He never even asked why I dropped their service, I'm assuming they know why, and I was probably one of many who did. Cons: Nasty employees more

Next Gen is a definite SCAM! 5/20/2008

They called me up talking about how they are with Verizon. They are just a company trying to steal your service. They claim they want to give you a 10% discount but then they will send you a bill. When I asked what that bill will be for they couldnt tell me. It doesnt make sense. Give me a 10% discount and then what send me a bill for 10% When I called their bluff and put Verizon on a three way call with them on the line as soon as they heard the Verizon recording they hung up quick. Dont deal with these idiots. They are just looking for a way to steal a buck by tricking you into their service. Cons: Everything more

Scam! Scam! Scam! 11/1/2007

Next Gen is a complete scam, do not even answer their calls!!! They claim to offer discounts on your exsisting accounts and then the lie about their services. They are no help when it comes to customer service. I was tricked into signing up for the 20% discount, they claimed nothing would change. Then after the fact they told me the bill would change and I found out speaking with Verizon that they actually do change dial tone, etc things they said they wouldnt change. So after being on hold for 30 minutes + i am hoping that i can get through and cancel my account. more
