This is a good deal to experience the ride and sightsee; however I would recommend getting an all-day pass that costs $5.00. If you don't, then you'll need $1.25 exact change (it can be a dollar bill and coins, even pennies) each time you get off and on. We rode the streetcar to Washington and got off to see the Lafayette Cemetary #1, and then we went to 1st & Chestnut to see Ann Rice's house. We walked through the Garden District checking out all the beautiful homes, then walked along Magazine Street checking out the antique shops. We tried to walk all the way to the Audobon Park but got tired and hopped on the streetcar back to the hotel. If we had an all-day pass we could have hopped on and off, so figure out where you'll go; how many times you think you'll use it that day. Pros: inexpensive Cons: no transfers more

Great sight-seeing value 6/28/2002

If you are a visitor to New Orleans (or even an out of practice local/suburbanite), treat yourself to a tour of Uptown on the streetcar. It offers an unparalleled view of St. Charles Avenue for little more than pocket change. Know that it can be a hotbox (it's not an air-conditioned speed train and New Orleans is an oven most months of the year) and avoid rush-hour time for the sake of those who actually use it to commute to work. more

Step Back In Time 6/2/2002

What beautiful scenery! From the Garden District to Audobon Park & Zoo. Almost too much to see! Keep in mind that these are the orginal cars from the 1850's. So don't except a smooth ride but the authenticity is more than worth it! Pros: Inexpensive, Authentic, Great scenery Cons: Bumpy ride more
