Best

NEBO is by far my favorite restaurant of all time. It is the perfect mix of sophistication and casual dining for an after work drink, a date night or grabbing a bite to eat before...

Worst

I don't understand the high rating for this restaurant. We ate at NEBO recently and no one in our party would ever go back. The food was OK, but very overpriced. The manager/ow...

Cosi cosi... 10/10/2006

Second try, and I think last. The food was decent, but I definetely think they should add another $ sign on their citysearch page (if appetizer go up to $15 and pizza $17 and the least expensive glass of red is $9), I think is just fair for their clientele. \r The bartender needs to pay more attention to his customers, if they need water, bread, or anything else and most of all to the management/owners, if you consider your place an enoteca and you care about your wines, please check your open bottles daily before service before charging an average of $11-12 for a glass of wine, and what you get is an oxidized glass of wine. Good luck! Pros: Nice bar area, overall atmosphere Cons: service, quality-cost rapport more

Nebo has a great atmosphere and excellent food, you can't go wrong with any item on the menu choosing from antipasta to dessert. Not only is the food great but the atmosphere also. Between the beautiful decor and the great music its a sure bet to have anything but a very unique and pleasant dining experiance. Nebo's drinks are fantastic, and the wine list goes on for miles. All in all Nebo is one of the best new restaurants in Boston. more

Nebo Restaurant Finally Went! 5/12/2006

I received a mailing from Nebo and have received several e-mails about this restaurant and even saw them on WGBH. As a former food critic in the New York area and a Charlestown resident I should have went much sooner. I arrived at the door and was met by an attractive lady. She was elegant and still had a North End ""sass"". The decor was straight out the pages of pottery barn and well lit. I felt comfortable and it remided me of restaurants in Tribeca. We ordered the aracini, lamb and a great bottle of wine and finished splitting two signature pizzas. This restaurant has so much to offer and I cannot say enough good things about the cusine. The only is that the staff does not match the food or atmosphere. I felt they should be more attentive, professional and look better! more

Really good pizza! 2/11/2006

I don't think the people who wrote reviews about bad service at NEBO ate at the same place. Lisa our waitress was the best. She was ver attentive and gave the best recommendations. The drinks are incredible and the pizza is amazing. If you have not been to NEBO you must go. Pros: Service, Food, Lisa more

Authentic Italian Dining 2/11/2006

Being raised in Italy, I was thrilled find a restaurant that is authentic Italian. he most beautiful restaurant in the city, the food is true Italian . All bread and pizza dough made in house daily. The handcut pasta taught to the staff by the owners mother ,could seriously be the best pasta I ever tasted. Minestra, a stew consisting of escarole, white beans, pulled proscuitto, ribs and pepperoni over fried polenta embodies every thing that Italan cooking is. An endless choice of great antipasti left us already discussing our return. The wine list had even more to offer. the list includes 150 Italian wines ,(20 by the quartino) .The owners ,two sisters who love to talk with their guest, were more than willing to help us choose something to go with our food. Nebo is the best addition to a new and thriving neighborhood. Pros: Parking next door, attentive staff, full menu til 2 am more

So much potential. 2/6/2006

Nebo has potential, but it needs to ditch the horrible waitstaff, and the owners need a serious lesson in customer service. We waited an hour and a half (when the place was empty) for a mediocre pizza, then recieved a bill that charged us double for our drinks, and added $100 of stuff we didn't order!! When speaking with the Manager, she immediately became rude and defensive. It was so difficult to remove the $100, that we didn't even complain about them double charging us for drinks. She was so argumentative she started to make a scene out of something that should have been taken care of immediately. The place has potential, the atmosphere could make up for overpriced drinks and average food, but the terribly slow and in-experienced waitstaff (who cleared my dishes before I had finished eating!) need a complete overhaul before this place becomes worth a visit. Pros: Ambiance Cons: Manager, Waitstaff, Location & Food more

My wife and I recently visited Nebo's for dinner prior to a Bruins game. Our experience there didn't start off well, with a flat soda, spilled drink and the wrong pizza delivered. But once the pizza arrived it was a different story. My wife and I both agreed that it was the best pizza we had EVER had. It's not inexpensive pizza, but well worth it. Pros: "The Gino", Clean, Service Cons: limited menu more

A real find 11/10/2005

I""m a Celtics season ticket holder and have found a true treasure near TD Bank North for my wife and I to dine. Being foodies and wine snobs we feel like we hit the lottery. With a menu so differnent and original from any restaurant in the North End (or Boston for that matter) we wish we lived closer so we could hang out every night. Superb food, a beautiful atmosphere and excellent service makes us feel like we won whether the Celtics do or not. Pros: Everything Cons: closed Sunday more

You gotta try this place!! 11/7/2005

Upon entering NEBO I felt like I had left Boston and was literally in Italy. The bar's signature cocktails are fantastic, try the sophistacato. We ended up in the back of the restaurant at a table. The ambience was phenomenal. Our waiter was helpful, knowledgeable, and incredibely personable. The antipasti was great and we got to try a bit of everything. The server did a great job of setting up courses so the pizza was saved for last. And let me tell you it was undisputabley the best in the city. 11 out of 10 overall. Pros: SERVICE, wine list, menu more

TOO BAD - this place is soo bad 11/7/2005

I really wanted to like this restaurant. The ambience is excellent, they serve great drinks and it is a nice quiet/upscale place to go before an event at the BankNorth Garden. BUT we went there Friday night 11/4 before the celtics game - the pizza was horrible!!! They also tried to charge us almost double what the pizza that we ordered cost calling it a computer mix up that was hard to fix. :( more

A matter of opinion..... 11/6/2005

I was surprised at the two negative reviews Nebo has recieved. I live in the North End and I eat at Nebo 1-2 times a week. I have yet to be dissapointed with the food or the service. I have traveled all over the country and have spent 4 out of 7 days dining out. This restaurant uses the highest quality of ingredients especially the olive oil! Nebo is not your average pizzeria. Pros: value, ambience, service Cons: parking more

I would not go back! 11/2/2005

I just did not think this restaurant is worthy a second shot, the service definetely wasn't the best thing, the food is not more than average and one of the most disappointing things was the pizza, ""for a pizzeria?!"". I liked the wine list that has good wines at reasonable prices, definetely a plus the ambiance. more

Very bad service 10/28/2005

The menu is good, and the restaurant is beautiful and very hip. Unfortunately the service is bad, very bad. I have never been met with such horrible service. The worst part is that the bad treatment I received came from the general manager. If the manager treats customers with such contempt, there is little hope for the wait-staff. Pros: Beautiful Cons: BAD SERVICE more

I work in and around the North End area. My schedule is hectic and some days seem endless. I found a fabulous restaurant to unwind called NEBO located on North Washington Street. The food is fabulous as well as the atmosphere. I highly recommend any of the pizza. I have tried 6 different signature pizzas and I have not been dissapointed yet. The seafood platter and fried calamari are the only guiltless fried foods I have ever eaten. The best asset to the restaurant is the owners. They are always visible and are there to cater to their patrons needs. Pros: SERVICE, ATMOSHERE, VALUE Cons: PARKING more

A great find! 7/11/2005

Nebo is a great find in the North End. The minute you walk in, you feel like you are in Rome or Milan. The decor is upscale and beutifully designed. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The wine list is exceptional with a great selection and reasonable prices. Wine can be ordered by the quartino (about a glass and 1/2) or the bottle. The menu... even better with a large group because you may get to taste a little of everything. The food is fresh. The arugula salad with braseola brought me back to Italy in the first bite. The pizza has to be the best in the city-the crust is light, the sauce fresh and the cheese-melted to perfection. For dessert, I highly recommend the chocolate pizza and the riccotta pie. Nebo should be at the top of everyone's list for an exceptional restaurant experience in Boston's North End. Pros: Wine List, Menu, Decor more

Hidden Gem! 6/23/2005

Nebo is the answer to anyone frustrated with the old, generic, cramped North End restaurants. The decor is contemporary, upscale and (rare in the North End) spacious. The food is amazing. It has gourmet pizzas (better than Figs) made with toppings such as gorgonzola, figs and proscuitto. You must try to the cheese plate. You can choose from a list and you will not be disappointed. The cheese is airy, light, and shockingly fresh. I recommend the ricotta, goat cheese and gorgonzola. The pecorino and provolone are only ok so stay with the softer cheeses. They will not disappoint. The service is helpful and friendly. Though the prices are very North End (a good glass of wine is $12 and it's not a generous glass. The cheaper glasses taste cheaper), it's worth it. I am afraid it will be discovered by the tourists and ruined forever so go now! Pros: Food, Ambience, Service more
