HORRIBLE PLACE!!! I had to cancel because I had the flu although I already had a consultation and gave them $20. When I called super sick telling them I may not make it because I was contagious, they said they would still have to charge me for half of my service on top of the $20 I already gave them. I just cancelled all together! WILL NOT be going back there due to their HORRIBLE customer's service and unfairness! I'm all for supporting black businesses but his was too much! I will be getting my hair cut at Super Cuts as I've been doing! more

I had my hair done in this salon twice. The first time, my hairstylist was Kim and it was great. However, the second time was a TOTALLY DISASTER. I scheduled my appointment with Kim over a month in advance. To my surprise, when I showed up for my second appointment, the front desk informed me that another hairstylist would do my hair. I asked for Kim several times but they didn't listen me at all. So my only option was to do my hair with this new hairstylist. Another problem. The hairstylist came with a shorter hair extension that was originally requested a month ago. She explained that she didn't have enough time to do a longer hair style. Again, they didn't listen to my concerns. I was without an option, I had to do it the way they wanted (If I say no, they would charge me full price). So I did it. Next day, the first thread of my hair extension fell off. And, from that day on, more and more threads were falling off (I was taking care of my hair as directed. I didn't have any problems in my first visit). So I called one month in advance to cancel my next appointment. The receptionist said I had to pay a hefty fee to cancel my appointment. I didn't agree because I was not satisfied at the first place. She said she was going to write a note to remind to charge this hefty fee in my next appointment. I told her there wouldn't be a next time. SUMMARY: Don't go there, they just want your money. more

In 2005, I walked into Natural Resources with one thing in mind...taking a break from the 'creamy crack'. I NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS expected to go natural. However, it was something about the salon, the stylists, the overall spirit of the little shop on La Branch that made me (and my hair) crave a new start. After a year of full extensions, I went through the big chop...I cried like a baby, but I have never looked back. My stylist and co-owner of Natural Resources Ms. Tamika is my blessing. She is a blessing to my hair and the new found spirit I have when I walk 'around town' with my 2 ft twist out afro...lol. Everything in Natural Resources from the stylists, the relaxed atmosphere, Ms Biera (hope I got the spelling right), to the 'off da chain' Monoi Hair Milk says home. Thanks Natural Resources for giving me back my hair and the confidence to always, always...DO IT BIG! more

We all know how hard it is for a sistah to find the right hair salon. After leaving a nearby salon for a consultation where I was made to feel very uncomfortable, I found Natural Resources Salon around the corner by accident and after walking in I knew this was the salon for me. The salon was very clean, upscale and the staff was very professional. Tamika took the time to consult with me and explain the natural process. I have received services at Natural Resources Salon for more than 5 years now. It is the only hair salon for me.
