We love Natty Greene's! The staff is so friendly and they've got great beers on tap. All the ladies love the light and bubbly Wildflower wit beer they brew! more

Don't forget your growler!!! 9/4/2011

I truly thought Kick Back Jack's had the best Steak and Cheese Philly. That was true until I had Natty Greene's. It took a Philly to a whole new level. Our waitress was very nice and very attentive. My Wife had a salmon daily special and she loved it too.Every thing was great until I ordered their Growler (64 oz. refillable jug) to go and the waitress told me that the beer I had ordered with my meal wasn't available as a take out due to limited supply. Well I really liked the one I had (Faison?sp) so I told her to forget it. She came back in a few minutes and said the manager said I could have a growler of any beer other than the Faison for free. Well needless to say my sadness was short lived and I was more than pleased with my second choice the next day. So sorry KBJ's, I found a new favorite and I can't wait to refill my growler. more

Sir Charles is AWESOME 7/20/2011

No I do not mean Charles Barkley the basketball player, I mean the sandwich on their menu. It takes Tuna to a whole new level. I actually waited to write this review after having a chance to eat there 3 times it is now time. Great beer flavors and wonderful food. I have eaten the Sir Charles, The Cubano(a little messy) and their Crab cake sandwich. All of these were great and paired with homemade potato chips. If I had to find a negative it would have to be one of the nights I went they were out of multiple beers I tried to order. more

Inconsiderate of customers! 3/31/2011

We're a group of 12 that come in AT LEAST once every week to buy food and drinks. When we got there last time, they were swamped with a surprise group of 30 people and said the wait would be 20 minutes. No big deal; it's not their fault and I'm glad they have the business and we were happy to wait. Fast forward to 90 minutes later when the tables are cleared out and they tell us that a group who had made reservations 2 weeks prior was going to get the spot and we'd be waiting at least another 40 minutes. Now I'm annoyed - my complaint isn't that they were busy; my complaint is that they knew we wouldn't be seated any time soon and they let us wait, anyway. Had they just said that they were really busy and it would be quite a while, we would have gone somewhere else and come back next time. I spoke with a manager and he apologized and offered us 4 free appetizers and said he'd get us seated right away, which I really appreciated. After the appetizers were ordered and about to be delivered, he came by to tell me that he was only going to comp us for 2 of them and he thought that was fair. Really, 2 appetizers for 12 people after 90 minutes of waiting? We should have left then and let them eat the cost of the drinks and appetizers already ordered, but we didn't. In hindsight, we should have left after the first 20 minutes, but you know how waiting for a table is - it looks like it's going to be any minute (especially when they say it will be). In any case, we won't be going back any time soon. The food and drinks are always good, though the service is usually slow, but that's not a big deal because we're not in a hurry. But if you can't treat your regular customers with a little bit of consideration when your staff makes a mistake, then you don't really care if we come back. more

Great drinks, great food, great atmosphere! 12/4/2010

Natty's has the best craft beers in town. I love wildflower, so delicious. I went in yesterday after work. I had an Irish coffee and a soup and sandwich. The soup of the day was tomato basil. probably the best I've had; very flavorful and rich. And the Christmas decor looks great right now! more

Good for a beer but not to eat 9/25/2010

I thought the beers and service were good. My wife and I also liked the old warehouse atmosphere. The food was poor. My wife and I both had pork based sandwiches. The pork was dry and you could tell had been sitting in the refrigerator and reheated. I had potato salad for my side and it was inedible do to the excess of yellow mustard. My wife had fries as her side. While they were well cooked you could taste that they were fried in the same oil as their fish. Not at all appetizing for the items we ordered. We would go back again for a beer but will skip the food. more

Right at Home 8/23/2010

I was visiting Raleigh from out of town and happened upon Natty's while exploring the town. What a beautiful place! I was greeted by very friendly hostesses and opted to sit in the pub area, as I am more of a bar kind of gal. My server was super nice and SO on top of it, refilling my water and beer on point. You never know what kind of food you'll get when you head into a brewpub, so many of these places focus on the beer and the food is an afterthought. This was NOT the case AT ALL at Natty's. Everything on the menu looked amazing, and I had a hard time choosing between several enticing dishes. I finally settled on the southside philly. Oh. My. God. Who knew you could find a legit, super delish philly in the south?! So good and I finished every last bit. It went great with my old town brown ale, and you could have rolled me out of there I was so full. Happy and full. I was in town for a week and that was not my only stop into Natty's. I was able to try several items on the menu and was NEVER disappointed. The staff recognized me each time I returned and made me feel like I was a regular. It was really nice to feel so at home when I was so far from my own. Who knows when I'll be back to Raleigh, but I can guarantee that when I do return, I will head straight to Natty's for a bite and beer and to visit all my new friends. Keep it up Natty's! more

Finally good food AND good beer! 8/23/2010

I went to Natty Greene's on a Wednesday night, hoping to avoid a crowded $2 pint night. To my delight I was able to try an IPA cask conditioned ale AND was given a brew tour by the Brewer himself! My friends and I ordered many things and shared (my favorite way to dine!). Everything we had was absolutely delicious. Roasted red pepper hummus and a black bean veggie burger for my veggie girl, a seared tuna sandwich with wasabi sour cream (yay no mayo!), a rotisserie chicken with GRAVY, and the special of the night, it was salmon, collard greens and mashed potatoes. The beer was great, atmosphere was laid back, and the music was awesome, and our servver was sweet as pie. Needless to say I'm a regular now! more

Awesome Hang Out - HUGE Menu 8/23/2010

I had never heard of Natty Greene's before it came to Raleigh, I did not know that it is basically a Greensboro institution. \r \r It is really big inside and they have a ton of beers to choose from. I was surprised at their menu, it is not typical bar food. The gravy they make with their ""Downtown Brown"" beer is absolutely incredible and this is THE ONLY place that I have seen in Raleigh that has Bison Burgers, SWEET. Mine was cooked to order, medium rare...and it came out great. This is important because Bison cooks a little faster than beef and it usually comes out over cooked.\r \r The staff is young and friendly. I have been there many times since they first opened and everytime I have had a good experience. more

Awesome food! Terrific service! 8/23/2010

I went to Natty Greene's while on a visit to Raleigh and I will definitely be back as soon as I am. The atmosphere was fun and lively as well as the service, while having both of these great attributes didn't take away from being professional and efficient. The food was so delicious! I was expecting typical brew pub fare and was delighted to experience gastronomic genius from the kitchen. I hope everyone gets a chance to go to Natty Greene's. It is an experience you don't want to miss! more

dissapointed 4/27/2010

When you hear ""Natty"" think ""Nasty"". Maybe I should not have ordered an entree from a restaurant-pub but the menu looked promising. The crab cakes were good but had green bell peppers in them which overpowered the otherwise good crab meat's delicate flavor. I like veggies but the sides were inedible. The cole slaw had been sitting in a cold fridge for a while and was weathered and not crisp. Against my better judgment, I tasted it and confirmed its un-freshness. The peas/carrots/onion mixture tasted sour and looked like it came straight from a can. The service was bad and it reminded me of Boylan Heights brewpub when that place first opened. I don't go to Boylan Heights and and probably and probably wont go back to Natty Greene's either. Pros: beer selection, location Cons: service, food more

New. clean. Starting out well... 3/15/2010

We went there for a late lunch on St. Patty's wkd-- Nice space; always great to see outdoor seating. It's very clean (since it's brand new) & the wait staff was friendly. Our server was a little on top of us, like she was trying to turn our table ( we were only there about 35 minutes), but I think she was just overly eager due to the soft opening. Food was tasty- greek salad- was ok. Pork sandwich with BBQ sauce very tasty (& light on the meat). Pros: Nice Large Open space more
