Motek Diamonds by IDC

If you're looking to get a diamond engagement ring, Motek will save you a ton of money.\r \r While looking around, I stumbled upon Motek's website and information. At first I admit I thought it seemed a bit sketch, but I made an appointment (important: no walk-ins, only meeting by appointment) and met with the guys at Motek. Basically, they are wholesalers, and I mean real wholesalers. They supply many of those ""wholesalers"" you'd find in the WTC.\r \r Basically, this is how it works. You set up an appointment to meet with them one-on-one, you walk in, talk a little about what you're looking for, and they bring out some loose diamonds for you to take a look at. They give you pointers and help you understand what you're looking for and what you're buying and why you're buying what you're looking for. One thing that really put me at ease was that there was absolutely no pressure to spend more on a diamond. Actually, I was discouraged from spending more just because I found a diamond under my budget. He said, ""Why spend more? You found a great diamond that you like under your budget, save that money, spend it on the engagement dinner!"" Seriously, that is rare candor and honesty, which I really appreciated. However, please note that at first the guys might sound like slick sales guys, but really they're trying to make it all a win-win situation.\r \r Motek also will get your diamond mounted in whatever ring and setting you like (literally, there are tons of options you can choose from, it took me a while to sort through it all).\r \r Compared to retail stores that I had visited, I literally saved 40-50% on everything. more

My ring just arrived this past weekend is it is simply breathtaking! Oded helped me understand cut, color, clarity and carat weight so he was able to pick out the most perfect ring for me. Unlike other stores, Motek isn't out to rip you off for personal commission. For example, I originally wanted size over quality but didn't really know the reason why I wanted that. Oded took time and explained things to me and brought me back to reality. This is the first and last store I will go to for diamonds. I got such a great deal. Shipping was very fast and the diamond is just gorgeous! Thanks Oded! more

Stay away from Motek Diamonds like the plague. If you look at all the previous reviews, you'll notice the same thing: people claim great service and wonderful diamonds. You'll also quickly notice that all the reviews mirror each other almost exactly, and the simple reason for that is because they are all written by the same person--likely the owner of Motek Diamonds!!! I visited their store to purchase an engagement ring, and they were extmely unprofessional, deceptive and rude. They were pushy, arrogant and extremely unprofessional in the way they treated me and in the way they pushed their diamond sales. If you visit them, they will quickly tell you not to care about certificates or diamond specifications. The reason for that is because (1) the diamonds they sell all have bad specifications and certificates, and (2) the certification they push on you are EGL certifications, which every diamond wholesaler knows is significantly worse that GIA diamonds. In short, you shouldn't trust these people!! The mere fact that they wrote their own reviews should be red flags that they a not running a legitimate operation!! Instead, go to a store where you'll get a good diamond, with great specifications and a legitimate certification. Engagement rings are a lot of money--you might as well get one you like from people you can trust!! more

I purchased an engagement ring from them. The ring was better than pictured, gorgeous, people stop my fiance and tell her how beautiful it is. And you cant beat there prices, literally, I spent hours searching! Also, the service after the sale is great, if I email them usually I receive a response within hours! And it's not canned, it is a real person answering your questions. These guys care about your special day, and about customer service. I love them so much, I talked my brother in to buying his fiance's ring there, and guess what, it's awesome!! And when my other brother pops the question, he will be buying from them too. I am getting ready to order the matching band this week. I cant say enough good things about this place, they are trustworthy and do beautiful work. more

I am always nervous that sales people will say anything to me just to sell a piece of jewelry even if it's dishonest. I would love to thank Rich for helping me find exactly what I was looking for. He was helpful, very honest, and knew exactly what I was looking for without me having to give much of a descrption. Give this man a raise! I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants a quality piece of jewelry with fabulous service. I never would have thought purchasing a ring could be anymore of a great experience, but then I went to Motek Diamonds and they truly over delivered. Thank you Rich, and thank you Motek Diamonds!
