I have had my hair colored and highlighted at Salon Mingle several times. I have worked with Sheila. She is so nice, and very conscientious. The staff is lovely..getting hair washed also includes a light massage..always nice. Sheila is geat with color and works with my hair colors in an understanding and also creative manner. I have been seeing Dannielle to color my hair for the last ten years. I have followed her whereever she went. She is now and has been at Mingle Salon for the last five years and I have to say she still is my color guru! She has helped and continues to help me through my graying process! From Blond and now a Redhead for which I get compliments on all the time. No one believes that I am all GRAY! You should definitely go and see Dannielle. I always feel ten years younger when I see her. ENJOY! more

I am so happy to have found not only the most friendly salon ever but to have found the best hairstylist ever and colorist ever .....Sheila you rock ! From taking her time to talk to you before starting listening to every detail or ideas I have she is just awesome ......... Now going to the massage those assistant do there thing wow a good 5 min massage after great green tea just Great very friendly down to earth environment extremely clean place, reception was awesome love her cut and style very pleasant gal.........I know exactly where to go when In NYC, wish there was a place like Mingle New York in L.A. @ Rodeo Drive But will be back at least once a month to see Sheila and the mingle team! more

Firstly, you need to know this - there is nothing bad written about this salon. Why? Because they give you a 20% discount on your next visit when you write a good review on City Search and other review sites. This salon is not as great as everyone praises here. I got a Brazilian Blowout via Living Social twice here. The first time was good. My hair was really nice after the treatment. The second time, not so good. My hairstylist wanted to try another process, which is not BBO's original instruction. She was nice and experienced, so I trusted her and let her do whatever she wanted to do. However, it unfortunately turned out to be bad. My hair was frizzy again two days later.... It was totally different from my first BBO result. So, I called and asked them to redo my hair, but they told me they needed to think about it. THINK ABOUT WHAT?? Your client here is not satisfied because of the experimentation that one of your employees wanted to try. Their excuse was that BBO solution was expensive and I got the service with a discounted price, so obviously they would lose money. But, YOU signed up for Living Social and there is always a risk like this when you try to promote your business in this way. Also, the receptionist on the weekdays is so rude. Who does she think she is? I know about 10 people who have gone to this salon and only one of them went back there after her first visit. Their review discount system is clearly working. more

I had my hair cut by Sheila and she did an amazing job! It was the best haircut I ever had and I plan on returning to Mingle every time! I would absolutely recommend Sheila to everyone. more

Stacia has been cutting my hair for over a year, and I have never been as happy with haircuts as I've been since I started seeing her. Not only did Stacia fixed a botched cut from my previous stylist, but she also gives me great tips and suggestions. I'm always happy with my hair when I walk out the door, and how well the cuts grow out. In addition to being super friendly and sweet, she's always on time and extremely professional. The salon and other people who were there are also really nice, and it's always a relaxing and pampering experience. more

I had my hair cut and styled by Stacia Nicole at Salon Mingle, and I do not exaggerate when I say that I've never walked out of a salon happier. I went in with an idea of what I wanted, and Stacia listened to me and looked at my face shape and hair type with the eye of an artist. When she was finished, my hair looked amazing. Not only is she a fabulous stylist, but she's friendly, talkative, but not overly so, and fun, as well as professional. The atmosphere is high-end, hip, but relaxing, not intimidating like some other high-end salons I've been to. I wouldn't even think of going anywhere else and would recommend Stacia to anyone looking for a cut, style, color, you name it. more

I have been a client in the last couple of years and have been very satisfied with their services. They all care about the color, changing color, finding a new color, and they take a lot of time to find your new hair style if you want to try something new. My hairstylist is Sayuri and I am really happy about her professionalism. Other staff and stylists seem very professional and the customers seem very happy with them. Every time i go there, the place is full of smile and laugh of customers and staff. I truly enjoy going back there. more

I am terribly disappointed about my new haircut, I rather they keep the money and I want my hair back. I havent had this awful bad hair for almost a decade, and now I have this tragic haircut I am experiencing long time customer from two other Japanese hair salons back from Los Angeles. I thought Mingle would be a good one, just like other Japanese salons. However, only the price is same, but skill are far away a part. Now, I will do my best arrangement to cover up, and, I need to wait about half year or more for next hair appointment back to LA. I sadness is endless because my horrible hair. I do not know what was he thinking when he was cutting it so thin and he was very difficult to understand more

Michio has been cutting my hair for over 12 yrs. I am a diehard fan and rarely let anyone else cut my hair (only when I am living in another city and cannot make a trip to NYC). In fact, there were many times over the years when I held off getting a haircut just to wait for him to cut it until I could get to NYC. What makes Michio so great is that he is a *superb* technician AND a true artist. This is a combination that I personally think is very hard to find. His cutting technique is extremely good and he also has an eye for beauty. He particularly excels at shaping hair to flatter the shape of your face. My cuts are so well done that they last (i.e. still hold shape) even 4-5 months later. I consistently receive compliments both right after a cut and months afterward. btw, I am Asian with long, straight hair. Like most Asian hair, the hair is thick and there is a lot of it, which makes my hair look heavy. Michio understands Asian hair and is very good at cutting layers that create texture and movement (without necessarily the appearance of layers). The Before and After is significant. The look he creates for me is soft, elegant and feminine. He is also such a cool, nice guy. The other great thing about this salon -- the shampoo! They shampoo your hair like they do in Asia (Japan, HK, Taiwan), i.e. massage/scrub/scratch your head much longer than most American salons, and it's done using a scrubbing technique that you find in Asia. I personally love this kind of shampoo, so I look forward to this every time. It finishes with a brief shoulder/neck rub. Other Japanese touches include being served hot green tea (or some other drink). The interior is done in a modern, elegant design. This is a stylish, classy salon without the pretensions of one. more

I have been a client of Mingle in the last 5 years and I feel so lucky to have found them ! Sayuri has been my hair stylist, and all other staff are just great ! The customers seem to be very happy and all the staff are very professional and detail oriented. Sayuri does a great job, she really cares about how you will look. She has recently changed my hair style and all of my friends love it ! They also care about the coloring as well. They pick a beautiful color for you. I am 100% happy with Sayuri and other staffs' service ! more

I went to Salon Mingle after reading the good reviews and was not disappointed. Saruyi, my stylist, was eager to please and listened to what I wanted. I was pleased with the cut and got many compliments from friends and coworkers. The cut did not grow out as well as I had hoped (I usually wait a while between cuts) but I suppose if I want an interesting style it's going to need regular maintenance. more

From the receptionist to the stylist cutting/coloring your hair and the staff who assist you in getting settled, wash your hair and provide a mini massage, everyone at Salon Mingle is friendly, professional, and extremely talented. Yuki Yamazaki has been cutting my hair since I was 15 (I am now 38), and I will not go anywhere else!!! I have referred him to all of my friends, and those who have gone to him have left the salon feeling and looking amazing. If you have never been to this salon, it is a must-try (and you may never go back to old salon)! more

I used to live in New York but moved to D.C. two years ago. When I lived in New York, I was lucky enough to get my hair done by Sheila at Salon Mingle. I tend to rely on the stylist for inspiration so it was a gift that Sheila consulted me. She understood the overall look I wanted, gave me a fabulous style and made me feel gorgeous! I've been going back to Sheila ever since, even after moving and ending up with hair fiascos in D.C. (which Sheila fixed). She always gives you a fresh and unique look that you want and that suits you. I've been so impressed that I asked Sheila to be the stylist for my wedding this summer. The staff is really knowledgeable and very friendly. The space is adorable and convenient. You can't help but leave with a great cut and a good mood. I've had all my cuts with Stacia who is really talented. One of those people who intuitively knows if and what cut will work for you. Not to mention that she'll execute it brilliantly.
