pdxlisa has made that whole story up it never happoned 5/5/2010

If your sensitive, I might come off brash, crude, or even harsh.I am very serious about what i do,and care about the quality of work my customers get. Some times i get over zealous. But back to the point, that story pdxlisa told is a complete lie made up she never came into the store.you do not exist! You should just give it up.I've been in business for 15 years, and brian the other artist would never put up with someone talking to him like that. Plus were really good friends, its easy to find out just ask. Im really tired of caddy, pathetic, jealousy and just out right lying Joshua owner of mindbomb Pros: i really care about what i do Cons: i have a strong opinion and personality more

Tattoo work for discerning collectors 4/18/2010

I’ve known Joshua for years. He is an exceptional artist who has done outstanding work for me. More so, he is a great guy. The truth of the matter is that Joshua is very, very good at what he does. If you want an original piece of artwork with unsurpassed quality, you’re not going to do any better. Josh will work hard and take whatever time is needed to create an amazing piece which, I guarantee, will far surpass your own initial expectations. \r \r Josh's only real customer service issues have come about when dealing with people used to getting their ink at some guy’s kitchen table over bottle of Jim Beam. Generally, these people have little understanding of fine art or the abilities it takes to produce it. If you just want to get another wizard, gang sign, eight- ball, or panther (while paying for it with a case of beer and bag of weed) your best bet is, indeed, to stay home and get some scratcher friend to do it. If you want fine art on your body that tells YOUR story, go see Josh and his staff.\r \r A previous post mentioned that Josh’s bad reviews largely come from an Ed. This is true. Also, understand that Ed runs the website he directs readers toward. Josh is, in part, a good man because he is willing to state the facts even though they might not be what you want to hear. While this may at times come across as being rough around the edges, I assure you Josh’s primary motivation is always to produce work that exceeds his clients’ expectations. My guess is this Ed got his feelings hurt and has spent WAY too much time tantruming about it. Get over it, Ed. I’m betting you went to Josh’s shop because you KNEW he was an exceptional artist. WE speak volumes by how we present ourselves to other people. I’ve seen your site. You’re just being ‘that guy’ who seeks to tear down what other more talented and effectual people create. As such, I’m sure Mind Bomb is not the place for you. \r Pros: Outstanding work created by exemplary artists. Cons: Ed won't like you for going there. more

The tattoo I could only dream of. 4/16/2010

I got my very first tattoo done at Mindbomb. And let me tell you Josh made my dream come true! I walked in the shop on my birthday before reading any reviews so i could get an unbiased opinion for myself. I have been in a few shops before here in the Pnw, Calli, and Arizona. Mindbomb was different in a good way (well to me anyways) its not comercialized at all like the other shops i have been to and i liked that. I was instantly greated by Josh he was very friendly and welcoming. I showed him what I wanted from my little sketch. We talked a bit and came up with my final tatt. I set an appointment and that was that. I then went home and hopped on google to see what I could find for mindbomb reviews. The results weren't so good. There was a few good reviews but most of what I found was some pretty bad reviews. I started looking more into it and found that not all but a lot of them are posted by the same name ""ED"" so I kinda disregarded his reviews because it seemed like he had nothing good to say. It was all just about Josh's history and personal life not much about his professional life or his artwork. The reviews did make an impact on me and i was wondering if i should even go through with getting my tattoo from him. But I went any way and gave him the benefit of the doubt, because i would have never known if i didn't try. When I got there he showed me the final drawing, and I LOVED IT!!!! and the tattoo came out even better i couldn't believe how much detail and effort he put in it. This tattoo is f'n sick! Thank you so much Josh, I will be coming back to you for my next tattoo. And before you think that this is Josh or one of his buddies i am not. I'm the real deal I have no affiliation with the shop what so ever besides being a fan of his work. I don't know why all those bad reviews are posted but i sure didn't experience anything remotely close to what any of them said. Some people just get a thrill bringing other people down. Oh and he gave me a great deal!! Pros: Plesent friendly helpfull great all around guy and artist! Cons: money and pain.....if you want to call those cons lol more

Joshua and crew at Mind Bomb 4/12/2010

The whole crew over at Mind Bomb Tattoo is top notch, and this, in my opinion, starts with Joshua, the owner. Everyone that I have encountered at Mind Bomb is friendly, creative, thorough, fair, and most importantly, honest. I find an artist's willingness to not only express their opinion, but also work with you, an important factor when choosing a tattoo artist. Don't mistake having integrity for being a jerk. If you want artists with integrity, then I highly recommend Joshua and crew at mind Bomb. Pros: Quality service, honest, creative art Cons: distance more

Joshua At MindBomb Tattoo 4/7/2010

Through word of mouth I heard about this great tattoo artist named Joshua at Mindbomb Tattoo. I had previously talked to a few other artists and discussed with them my ideas for a tattoo. They were unable to vision what I wanted. Though when I talked with Joshua, he saw exactly what I wanted and was able to create a wonderful piece of art work. All of Joshua's work is origional, all hand drawn, there is no flash art anywhere in his shop. You won't see your tattoo on the girl next door only in a different color.\r I never expected anything to look as great as my back does. Josh does great work, is a great artist, and has lots of patience.\r Due to not healing quickly Joshua has had to work on me at a slow pace, but it has all been worth it. My back piece is beautiful.\r We will be sitting down to the drawing board soon, getting some new ideas so we can start again.\r Go see Joshua at MindBomb Tattoo for great art work that will last a lifetime. Pros: Best artist around (Joshua W. ) more

Josh at Mindbomb Sucks! 3/30/2010

I went into mindbomb, spoke to a tattoo artist I liked his work on (not Josh), showed my ideas, he took measurements, gave my deposit for a large back piece, was a happy...UNTIL, Josh the owner called, wanting me to come back in that night & talk about the tattoo. He wanted to do the tattoo himself. I was rather reluctant, but went anyway to see what he had to say. Unfortunately the only things Josh had to say was disrespectful, rude and down right angry. He stormed away in a 2 year old temper tantrum, yelled and screamed at his employee and acted down right unstable. Josh was way out of control. You don't treat customers that way. The original tattoo artist that I gave the deposit too was very apologetic and quickly gave my deposit back when I asked for it & even called later to apologize more for Josh's behavior. I would not recommend Josh Pros: Other employees are good Cons: Josh is unprofessional & arrogant more

Do you want an ordinary tattoo OR DO YOU WANT ORIGINAL ART?? 2/13/2009

You can get an ordinary tattoo anywhere (watch out, you get what you pay for!) But you can get a tat that you will be proud to show off to just about anyone, even those people who don't care for the finer things in life - tattoo art. (I showed a dozen people my back piece as a passenger on an airplane, LA to Portland - seriously!)\r \r Josh (at the West Union location) is probably the most sensational artist on the West side of the Willamette River. Never in my wildest dreams did I ever dream that I would be the collector of such a fantastic pieces of ART, tattooed on my back!. I got another tat on my left leg and of course, my first tat on my left arm.\r \r Josh is a great artist and I will continue to lift my shirt and show my back to promote his work. (Watch out! I fly into the LA area a lot!)\r \r The drive to the shop is long, but is so worth the intensity and the irritation of driving Hwy 26 West to the 185th Avenue exit. Turn right and drive North past Westview High School. The next light is West Union Road. Look for Mind Bomb on the right after you pass through the light. You know, driving in Washington County is a pain in the rare end - but I look forward to it when I have my tattoo appointments.\r \r Don't come to the shop thinking that you will see flash art on the wall, you won't. Each piece is CUSTOM and you can rest assured, each piece you have Josh tattoo on you is one of a kind and a piece that both you and he designs. Custom work from a custom artist.\r \r You will suffer no ""tattoo post-mortum"" with any of Josh's work. Go see him and talk to him. Don't be surprised if you do. You won't regret it. By the way, your tattoo will be gorgeous! Pros: Josh, the rest of the shop employees, the clean atmosphere, the actual facility, Josh more

I didn't just get a tattoo...I got art! 11/9/2008

After looking at a lot of portfolios at a lot of tattoo shops I was fortunate to run across Joshua's in their West Union location. I was looking for something much more detailed than what I've had done before and the art work I saw in his book was amazing. After asking me some questions to get a better understanding of who I was he took my concept and came up with something that fit me perfect. The place was clean and the experience was better than I could have ever expected. I'm going to be running some new ideas past Joshua soon for the next one! Pros: Talented artists, very clean, great people to work with. more

Awesome!!! 2/20/2008

I got my first tattoo done there yesterday after a few of my friends recommended MBT. Great experience. Will go back there for my next one! more
