Miller's Ale House

My husband and my best friend and her friend ate there one evening after shopping ...he food was great...atmosphere was on and popping..........and will be going there again!!! more

I went to Miller's Ale House for lunch yesterday. I had heard good things from people who had braved the evening rush (and waited over an hour for a table). Lunch is probably the way to go, if you're just interested in checking the new place out. It was pretty slow (a small crowd of state/capitol workers). Despite the lack of a capacity crowd, the service was incredibly slow - I did not get my soft drink until I had almost finished my lunch. This could have been because they were training new staff. I ordered a shrimp lunch and the shrimp was slightly overdone (rubbery in texture). Otherwise everyone (a group of 5) reported their food was simply OK. I noticed that they have $5 pitchers of beer anytime and a large selection (around 30 beers) on tap. This may be their saving grace, and is the only reason that I could see myself coming back. One last thing: I assumed that this place was a sports bar owned by Miller Brewing (maybe it was the font of the signage on the side of the building)....but there is no affiliation. Miller's Ale House is a Florida based franchise headquartered in Jupiter. It's less sports bar (aka AJ's, Pockets, Snookers, etc) and more restaurant and bar with tons of tvs tuned to sports (like a Hooters or such). more

Miller's Ale House is the latest addition to the Tallahassee restaurant list and this city has needed one for a while. There are lots of this fun loving restaurant through out the state but this is the first one in North Florida. It is a sports bar and has dozens of TVs throughout the restaurant and bars. There are two bars, they don't serve food at the outside bar, but the drink specials are great so the patio is always crowded. With $5 pitchers, $2 pints, and %5.95 buckets this might be the best beer bargain in town. If you go for dinner you should be prepared to wait, it's worth it, but everyone else thinks so too, so grab a pager and go enjoy a cocktail outside. One specialty you can't miss out on is the Chicken Nachos. Order them layered with and extra boat, you won't be sorry, but it is not a meal for one, I've had four people at the table and we've barely finished the mountain of nachos. But with great food and drink specials you're bound to have a good time. more
